There’s another kill combo using side light for morty. If you do side light into down light into a quick dash to the side into the fire move it’s a true kill combo when the opponent is like 95-120ish

One very subtle but imo big nerf to Morty is that you can no longer air dodge out of his side special before going through the portal. I loved using that as a feint in the beta. Still a fun character but man, they did our guy dirty
No clue why they nerfed Arya, Morty and others while adding a brain dead character like banana guard. They also didn’t touch shaggy or Wonder Woman which is crazy, this game is gonna die again
Honestly I prefer hammer for 1v1 and 2v2 my perk set is Hammer, snowball effect, last stand [due to weaken making it easier to kill since kill options are limited] and pugilist due to melee attacks being so important
I appreciate the guide but this character was gutted and it doesn't make any sense, they buffed Wonder Woman (won EVO), Bugs is still good as hell (2nd at EVO) and they decided to nerf characters like Velma, Morty and Finn. I do not get what they're doing with balance, Morty is not nerfed he's gutted and they also chopped his legs off.
Nah bro was holding back on saying how gutted grenade splitting is now, you could hear the dissatisfaction each time it went flying off stage away from the AI
I disagree with the fact that he doesnt have kill options. I thought the whole point of his character was to utilize his move that applies weakened. The combos in this vid are very helpful though

However, if you are talking about 1v1s I really dont think morty is very good against wonder woman, stripe but batman is sometimes an outlier. Both wonderwoman and stripe have very head on attacks that can just blitz through morty's health while he is still trying to recover only way he could stand a chance is if his grenade split ability got fixed or if he got healing for the rewind back. Batman, superman, and iron giant are all relatively weak due to morty's melee attacks able to shine through due to the ginormous hitbox

Have over 400 Morty wins from the beta but I just don’t enjoy the new way you have to play him You don’t rely on grenade setups anymore it’s more of forward air and up/ down air and I guess his hammer juggle but idk just not my style.
