The idea that you could get fired for leaving work at the time when you are supposed to, is absolutely insane.
Sure. But only if it's completely acceptable to get fired when you're 1 minute late once.
The idea is that you finish what you're doing or find a stopping point rather than dropping everything and running out or sitting there waiting for the clock to tick.
However, with the same logic, if you finish something 15 min before quitting time and it's pointless to start something else...you should be able to leave.
there's also the huge factor of what type of work you do. if you work in an office on a pc, sure you can just save your current project, and resume next morning, but there are a lot of jobs where you can't just drop everything and leave the second your shift ends.

11:16 this is actually a phenomenon that's spreading wildly out of control in the states and asia (especially china & japan where the work culture is horrific), i believe it's called *"quiet quitting"* which is basically a form of strike among the employees of any company that abuses their power & authority to coerce/force people to work beyond their scope of work and hours (such as getting an IT/SEO technician to also build computers for all the branches even though it's not supposed to be in his job description and doesn't get paid for it, often ending up doing as much work as 5 to 10 different people, japan has it especially bad since most japanese companies & corporations are essentially sweatshops and will slave their employees quite literally to death), so in response *"quiet quitting"* was invented by them to do the absolute minimum amount of work necessary, since you technically can't get fired with bad reception/no severance as long as your fulfilling your duties strictly specified in your contract agreement.
additionally this actually helps the individuals who do this since they also never extend their stay with the company beyond the terms of the contract, often ending their relationship with them after the contract duration is completed and looking for better paying jobs immediately afterwards (which is a huge win for these people since there are a lot of companies who would love to hire someone with years of experience but usually never get to since theyre usually always getting monopolized by the companies who try to force said employees to stay beyond their contract terms without any renewal.
i think the term *"quiet quitting"* was actually born from another term called *"quiet hiring"* which is basically the opposite of *"quiet quitting",* whereby the company will try to make the employee do the work and hours of 5 to 10 people with the salary of one particularly underpaid person, as well as tricking them into working for the company long after their contract duration is finished by pretending to be friends with them and taking advantage of them. i heard in the news that big corpo's are absolutely freaking livid over the rising prevalence of *"quiet quitting"* now because theyre now forced to hire 5 people for 5 peoples jobs instead of tricking 1 guy to do 5 to 10 peoples jobs, and before where they had staff working for them for over 40 YEARS and never getting promoted are now disappearing and being replaced by people who strictly adhere to their contract and leave after 5 or 10 years for other companies that pay infinitely better, and they cant do anything about it since the department of labor & employment is on board with this amazing idea, screw those damned corpo's on top taking advantage of people.
As for work minutes. You can go over if you are in the middle of something (planning something so close to end of a workday is another issue) until you are not scorned to either ask for overtime or leave early the next day.
Maybe i'm too european to understand. But at my current job of almost 10 years. We have an honesty based work hour jar. The only rule is that you must not be in the negative at the end of the month. Meaning you have worked the agreed amount of hours in the contract, usually 160 hours (20 days, 8 hours) You can go to positive whenever you want/need and take out the positives whenever you want... you can go to negative whenever you want, but you must work them back by the end of the month and positives carry over to "infinity". Also, weekends count double, holiday emergency work counts tripple. At the end of year, positives are paid out if you want

The multiplication bit, (7.30), I never bothered to memorize the multiplication table at elementary, (age 10, I thimk). This is exactly how I figured out how to rememberd the 9x part, (or rather, the first digit was x-1, and the second had to make the digits add up to 9). I also did a lot of factorization for the other numbers, (long before we where taugth it). I never got the best grades, but …. I ended up doing a math major. Turned out, being lazy primed me for doing well in uni.

I hated that my job wanted us to show up early so we could start exactly at 8am, but you couldn't clock in more than 5 minutes early, and there was only 1 timeclock to swipe your card. So, if you are in the line, and someone's card doesn't work, you get to be late, and it wasn't excused. Then if you are on the phone at 5pm with a customer, you had to stay until the call was finished, and you could not log just off the phone early you had to wait until 4:55pm. You would get in trouble for late clock outs too. I was in the IT department, and they wanted me to carry a work phone during lunch in case someone called, I would be expected to answer during my lunch. So, I quit clocking out for lunch. I got a few write-ups, but I told them I would not answer the phone if I was off the clock.

I used to work for a repair company that made you stop working 30 minutes before the end of your shift, so you had time to clean up your work area. Then they got bought out by a bigger company and the hours got longer, clean-up was on your time and the expected number of repairs eventually doubled. I got sick of the BS and retired early.

about the rice cooker: it seems to me people tend to forget, that hogwarts is not the only magic school in the world. asia probably has their own schools where they serve the local food. what does upset me a little is, that hogwarts serves mostly english dishes but no haggis as far as i know, even tho the school is supposedly somewhere in scotland, because that means the ffod is based solely on the author's preference and not on the schools location.
It is located in Scotland, but the majority of students are not Scottish since the school accepts students from all of the UK and Ireland. They would probably adopt more 'generic' english dishes to remain more nuetral, and stay away from a region specific dish like haggis to appease the overall population. Not to mention the largest grouping of students would be from England.

technically hogwarts is in the scottish highlands, as far as the game is concerned. the school itself is mostly british but many towns nearby like hogsmeade are clearly scottish and i wouldnt be surprised if haggis is in their taverns menu, its likely not part of the schools official menu because students (kids) will likely hate it, just like i freaking hated jellied eel when my dad tried to make me eat some.
edit: technically Mahoutokoro is one such wizarding school that is specifically for asians, and of course theres rice there. i also dont think i can survive in hogwarts without rice, i mean i love a lot of european food, but i quite literally will go insane without the comforting feel of rice on my bowl; nothing in this world is more reassuring than a big phat sack of rice.

I mean, that simply assumes that women would draw a bow exactly like men despite having different body geometry (not just at their chests) rather than developing a gender specific ergonomic motion that suited their proportions. It also assumes they were so generously endowed as to need the clearance!
For you guys replying with "they would've just held the bow different" that isn't a thing. If you're shooting a bow with any real draw weight to it you have to hold the bow properly. It's about biomechanics. Holding the bow out from the body is a significantly weaker position. Even smaller endowed women tend to have to wrap the breast. If you have well endowed women removing one breast would be necessary for them to be effective archers.

The problem with the Hogwarts "feast" is that its all English/British quality food. So even though the books and movies describe it as amazing...that's also from the perspective of British people. No seasoning. Maybe some salt and pepper, but the pepper probably makes it too spicy for them.

at the 10:38 mark when you are talking about leaving right at the close of the day. some employers want you to work an extra 10 min... which wouldn't be too bad but they only pay in increments of 15 min ( at place i work at) so basically you are working for free for almost an hour free. Seen one employer ask to do a bit of extra work so you are like cool i can do that... then 14 minutes after your shift ends he sends you home .. again with no extra pay.. then they also require you to show up to work 15-20 min early to prepare yourself to start work .. vicious circle
