Pro tip, I see you fish galveston a lot if you live in houston the concrete holds heat and fish like it, the city has mostly drainage canal looking bayous that have tons of mullet in them and you only have to drive like 15-20 minutes best catfish bait and as you know for saltwater too. It has more oils and more scent than shad and other bait fish like sun fish

Don't pump it keep tension on the line because if the hook is not set and you give it slack it will open its mouth. Pull and walk backwards. But you all are troopers . Big fan

Next time buy a loaf of white bread,go to where your going to fish,wet the bread and throw 7 ft from shore,until you finish the loaf of bread,then throw the cast net,pefect for 5 to ten inch carp.

Dude I got to live some memories with my dad. We fish for gar down in the 956 el valle, back in the old days my dad had a Calcuta rod with a 7000 abu Garcia. The Calcuta rod is made out Calcuta bamboo it’s one of the strongest bamboos. It’s an art to make rods out of bamboo. I got to see Chris sad like some one licked off all the red off his candy 🍭😢😢😂😂

Your settings the hook too early when he's taking you line he's playing with the bait let him run for a bit he's he stops taking line BOOM set the hook 🪝
We dont want to risk gut hooking the Gar since we are releasing them so thats why we set very early
