Good overview about therapies. ABA therapy for Life Skills , OT is for Sensory and coordination & focus. "Out of Synch" is a very good book to learn about sensory , OT etc

Good initiative.The details that you gave on occupational therapy is only one part. Main job of OT is making them independent in activities of daily living. Also, the details that you gave on speech therapy is also only a small part of their job. May be you can say it to your viewers as this your experience on OT and speech pathologist and ask them to contact the professionals for more details. I am an OT by the way.
Thanks.Good to know you are doing OT. I am not.. we are making awareness and acceptance videos for parents. I have registered in most of my videos that I am not a doctor/therapist/specialist, my tips are based on what we received from my son therapist and my parenting. Our recommendation to parents are always to reach their doctor/developmental pediatrician/professionals for assessment. Parents are the best therapist for their kids

Hai Ma'am....my son was 5 and a half old... he speaks very well...but lack in social skill. He wont mingle with other kids..we are in nuclear family.... and he don't know to Express his feelings
Hi Saranya.. if he has very good communication than he will learn to express for sure.. Teach him and ask him how he feels and tell him how you feel so that he can correlate his feelings

My name is also kavitha 😀Definitely helpful for the autistic moms like me.
My son is 10 years old and he was assessed with ADHD at 2.5 years, as you said progress will be slow only, my son has progressed now and was able to communicate better for his needs now.
I am facing challenge with toilet training. Sometimes he says ' need toilet' in Tamil and sometimes he does in his pants and then say or try to clean by himself.
He likes more water play and we feel like he is intentionally doing it in pants knowing that we will gain him shower if he does in pants just to enjoy the bath and water play.
We are trying our best in correcting this, but at times it is very stressful for me to see my son doing like this in 10 years
Do you have any ideas in this regard, please?

Hello Kavitha, I understand your situation, I will share a idea but it may not be the solution but let's give a try.
If you feel like he do that intentionally to get into the bath routine than better stop that routine.
Instead of making him to bath and enjoy the water play, request him to clean himself with a wet towel so that he knows that he need to clean himself in different way when he do that accidentally or intentionally.
Make this water play as appreciation in return to his goal or milestone.
Like we allow Vinnava to do tub-bath playtime if he complete his maths target or allow us to do haircut smoothly :)

Hi Amutha.. for any child we have to start from simple single words and build from there.. Make him to speak all single words. Amma appa or mom dad.. Come go water food juice, than add I want.. we cannot expect them speak within day or weeks. They will take their time but we have to keep teaching them

9 months is too early to comment for me.. My suggestion would be don’t show any phone , laptop.. keep speaking and playing with him.. buy him right age toys.. make others also play with him more

Meena. You don’t need to wait for therapist. Parents can start doing it.. start from 10 mins and gradually increase. Teach what you know and what you kid like most. It doesn’t need to be teaching even playing helps a lot

Hi, therapy can be started any time, no limit to that. What kind of therapy should be decided by the child’s pediatrician. Usually people starts with speech, OT and ABA

We went to pediatrician. He told tat he is having mild ASD... it can be curable by giving therapies....they suggest OT and Speech theraphy...does he needs the both.. can u share your experience
Pls check goals what they are planning to do.. in another comment you mentioned that he communicate normal than check why speech is need.. if pediatrician recommended than I would suggest you start both. Later you can reduce if you feel it is not required

Becoz academic wise he was extraordinary child Ma'am.. he can able to read tough words also ...only lack in social skills.. he wont like to play with other children..but we are initiating him...but he likes to learn new things or concepts. Don't likes to play with others..Ma'am.

How long is the ABA session and also is it like , 1 hr per day ?
It depends on kids need.. we gave 10 hrs per week for couple of years and now we are giving 3 hrs per week.. therapist and parents can decide

Hi how to find a good OT center
Hi Anitha. Visit couple of centers, check their review. Get their goal and reporting style.. also look whether affordable and the timing works for you like evening and weekends if needed

For speech therapy we have goals for every month but for OT they say it's not possible.. if we say about some sensory issues in child they we try to clear it within one or two weeks.. I just want to clarify from you is there any goals to be set in .. or what kind of goals to be set .. in OT class
