This series is amazing! Thank you for in-depth explanations.
Jake and his learning curves..I have been using "Camera Lens Blur" for almost a decade now, and I still learned a couple of new tricks. Thank you man!
Amazing Tutorial ! Never knew Camera Lens Blur Effect has these functions. Thanks Jake
Loved rediscovering this effect! I've used it so often in the past...but like the rest of this series, I see how I've only been using about 20% of it's power/funcitonality.
Such an informative and well structured tutorial. This was super helpful.
Another great Tutorial- thanks so much Jake :) I use this feature all the time, and really the sky's the limit to what you can do with it. I once used it on a poster ad that needed some help, and I hand painted a DOF matt in PS ( Lots of foliage!) for processing in AE and it really tied the composition together.
Awesome tutorial! Love you're videos! Super helpful and in depth!
Great tutorial! Can't wait to give it a try! Thank you for sharing!!
This is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!!
Amazing tutorial. Thanks for sharing.
This Effects series is a game cahnger! So much more useful than most AE tutorials out there
Love these videos, super helpful. Thanks a bunch.
Great tutorial Jake
what a perfect timing....just started learning about dof 2days ago
Great thank you jack
This is probably the effect I use most in AE, other than fill haha. 10 years and I've never known how to properly use the highlight feature.. so once again thank you Jake, you beautiful human.
This tutorial is Awesome! I've been trying to mimic the Tilt Shift look, like the new Love, Death and Robots episode Night of the Mini Dead....this tutorial is the closest I got. Thanks so much and I love to see you take on real Tilt Shift effect. Thanks man!
i really like your teaching style
Leaving a comment bcause you need more attention! This series is awesome, thank you!
Nice Man 😍😍😍😍😍😍
Colorama is just Dope!!
Real nice. I’ve always done the dumbest shit making blur maps, this was a really smart way to do it rather than the super clunky mask way I always tried to do it
Thank you for this video. I have a question, BCC Lens Blur or Camera Lens Blur? Which one is superior?
What are the advantages / disadvantages of working in a linear work space?
I like how you utilized that effect! Great Video! Hey Jake what's the best way to generate blur maps?
I'm not sure there's a "best" way. From a 3d application it's automatic with a depth map. In AE if you're using 3d layers you can just enable depth of field on the 3d camera. If you need to take it with a custom depth map, then I would try doing it in as nondestructive of a way as possible. Like solid layers with mask paths. This way you can easily adjust the paths and feather out specific areas.
Using RunwayML, you can use AI to create an automatic depth map calculated from an image, or even a video- and it works pretty dang well.
Huh, that sounds awesome!
@@JakeInMotion Lol it did sound awesome till I looked up that you have to pay $100 a month or $960 a year just to access that 1 feature :(
Great tutorial. Liked and Subbed.
One question, how do you rotate the blur so its vertical? I tried rotating the solid layer but it didnt work. Many thanks
I also had the same question, and found the answer in this video: czcams.com/video/jne-jhcHvFY/video.html
