The conversation with Michael Ian Black is textbook for how a friendly conversation with a narcissist goes: inability to do reality testing, inability to handle nuance, and improper speech patterns. It would be 'gaslighting' if it was intentional, but since it was not an intentional deception, that's the wrong word. Certainly a mindbender regardless!

Did not have the same core values but shared social experience. One shared fact was that my Dad was an unwanted child and therefore had no rights to any support. All clothing was handowns from older bother. No Chistmas gifts. Fed leftovers after family had finished meal. No money for school or church supplies. You get the gist of it.

Scott argued like a Leftard shifting positions, changing subjects, not staying on point, loosely using "debunked" as usual, He could not back up his strategies nor any of his points. Biden consistently makes the implication that Trump was calling nazis fine people whenever he's asked about it, but in MIB's mind the fact that Biden never specifically said the words "Trump called neo-nazis fine people", but rather "he said there were fine people on both sides, " it somehow absolves Biden from any accusations of deception or dissembling. While I love Scott immensely, I have to agree with you on this point. Ian was very prepared with the standard "he didn't say that - exactly" argument and prior preparedness would have made this argument look much more foolish. Biden's exact words did not explicitly say Trump said the White supremacists were the same as fine people, although the implication is clear in the clip Scott played. The main point was the IMPLICATION and it should have been the focus of the argument. Then, he could have hammered nail in the coffin with the second clip of pundits stating the implicit connection between "fine" people" and the White Supremacists. Even if Biden did not say it directly, the media reported it as such, proving Scotts argument that the news is fake. Ian would have had to agree.

It was a bad faith conversation. He was hyped up on ritalin, caffeine etc to give him a speed advantage. His endless facial tics, head quirks, blinking, twitching, fidgeting and rapidity of speech reveals it to anyone knowledgeable about stimulants, especially the effects of pharmaceutical grade products. Secondly, he hyper-parsed every syllable you said in order to throw you off in some meaningless gotcha way. Do this enough times and your opponent gets worn down and loses his train of thought and continuity. Which is the point of him doing it. Not to honestly engage in meaningful discussion. Pretending not to know what you mean. Disrupt every single thought and sentence that comes out of your mouth with a contradiction, qualifier or question. Change the subject and launch red herrings as soon as you hit on something irrefutable {as he did when you showed the 2nd video}.
But really, all of these are instinctive techniques used by jouish people they are born with and culturally reinforced as they grow to adulthood. It's formally called a Talmudic dialectic. A Clintonian parsing and breakdown of words and language in order to reassemble them in a way that accomplishs whatever you want. You can see it in verses within the Talmud where prominent historical rabbis "outsmart god" by developing a construct that beats god's rules and edicts in a way that doesn't technically violate the letter of his law. This is why observant jouhs have these strange practices on the sabbath to avoid breaking their religious commandments {Shabbat Laws}. They can effectively break them by using Talmudic workarounds based on upon convoluted technicalities that allow them to not adhere to them as long as the workaround is used {historically through the use of Shabbos Goys in many cases}.
So, Scott is literally living in a parallel universe of naivete not understanding what he's dealing with. I'm quite sure MIB knew who he was dealing with, as all jouhs are hyper-aware of who's jouish and "in on the game" and who isn't.

I didn't expect Scott to be unwilling to believe that the guest was doing this. Yes the guest was willfully blinding himself to the Scott's real position, but Scott also refused to interpret the guest In the literal terms that he was insisting on using, creating deadlock.

I think he was playing semantics. He was saying that they didn't literally quote him as saying that they merely implied that Trump said that Nazis were fine people, but the only part with quotes was "fine people on both sides." He literally said "fine people on both sides." the issue up for debate was who he said that about. Was it people who were against the statue being removed or the neo-Nazis? He was saying that the News wanted to lead their listening to understand he said it about the Nazis, but technically they weren't lying because they only put quotes around the part he did say. And when you showed him clips of news people and politicians saying just that, he claimed that the politicians don't count, we're only talking about the media. And then he's making every excuse why your clear evidence doesn't count.
And then in that discussion about the immigrants being murdurers and rapists, you should have turned his literalness against him. Trump didn't say all the immigrants were murdurers and rapists. He said they are sending murdurers and rapists. Have they sent at least 2 murdurers and at least 2 rapists? Yes, that's undeniable. So then how can you call the statement inaccurate. And if he says it's accurate, but is racist, how can an accurate statement be racist? And then he might say it's about the vibe of it not what he's literally saying, which your argument about the fine people hoax.

I'd say your friend was lying and making excuses. For example, it seemed deceptive when he said- "That's not news. It was a topic on the news." He's drawing a distinction without a difference to avoid being wrong. Later he said that he "won the debate" when there was no debate. It looks to me like he does not value truth or integrity. All he cares about is his side winning. I'd agree with your "2 movies" to some extent, but it doesn't explain everything. You seem to be assuming that he was always honest.

Clear as day. they agreed with the facts. They care about the emotional entanglement of the topic.
"He scares me" "he's mean" "he's rude" That's the emotional context of the conversation.
Once I saw that. I stopped talking to my friend that is a democrat.
I thought he was dumb. And he is dumb. He doesn't understand the impact of raising the min wage. Which I explained to him and he still disagreed. He asked me about obamacare and I explained how it raised the cost of medical across the board. But these made me think he was just dumb.
Nope the legal argument of cohen claiming Trump pressured him to lie. I highlighted exactly the line Cohen said. Cohen "Felt" the pressure to do what He thought he should do. Which was lie. trump didn't tell him to do anything.
I showed that to my friend and he said that it didn't matter. What mattered was that cohen felt pressured. And I'm like. It doesn't matter what facts I present. He's based in emotional reality. not factual.

I'd say it's a bit more than that. They have been tipped into a mark's cyst / Meow-ist goal of some vague thing like liberation--arguments, facts, all that doesn't matter because the goal is what's most important. You only use facts when needed, logic when persuasive, and reality when it's embarrassing to the other side. But none of it--not being kind, not being non- or ant-racist, not being fair, not being considerate to trans people--absolutely none of it actually matters. They are just stepping stones toward the goal. So in many cases they are perfectly rational; they have just set rationality aside until they reach their goal, after which they can go back to being rational, because after all, everything will be perfect then.

@@jeffmofo5013 I don't even see my reply anymore, but let me clarify that I don't deny that emotion has a huge influence on their thinking, if you can call it that. What I mean to say is that it is baked into their ideology that arguments and issues are just a means to an end anyway; they are used as long as they are useful and then abandoned. So why bother committing to them? In the long run, a rational argument doesn't matter to them. Otherwise: I make a distinction between Marxism and Maoism because of the more total nature of Maoism; it's far more aggressive. I Marxism, there is at least the theory that everybody can be brought down to the same level, whereas with Maoism there is a definite concept of destroying the "black" class and anyone else who stands in the way, until there are only the "red" people left.

He didn’t know how to present his argument/ideas to someone has never heard their ideas.
And Scott was definitely unprepared, why doesn’t he have these “proofs” already saved in a file.
MIB was really good at defining the terms, and trying to stick to the topics.
And Scott kept appealing to his own “greatness” in thinking as the authority.
And this is why Scott could not get anywhere. Because at the very least they should have agreed on all topics but disagreed on the implications.
Why did Scott not show him that the news not refuting the “fine people” and they refute those who say it’s a hoax?
Why didn’t he show the most news is owned by a few people and those same people donate to journalist schools, and that many say they are unbiased, but they use biased words? That they don’t actually do journalism, they repeat DNC, and government talking points.
