I wish I had watched your video demonstration prior to using my iXpand scan disc. I used the backup selection in the menu. It then wouldn’t let me connect to the iPhone after using the backup and taking out the disc. I tried to load the pictures to my computer and that’s when I couldn’t get back to the main menu on my iPhone. I’m unsure how to address the issue and start over. Do you have any advice. I deleted and reinstalled the app but that didn’t help plus I wasn’t able to download the content to my computer. Thanks in advance! Susan O’Brien, Albany, Missouri

I know it’s late enough after the video that you probably already found an answer: but on those screens that he was scrolling through during the first half of the video, my device has another screen that asks if you “want to create more space on your phone”.
*️⃣ If you say “yes” to that, it deletes every picture off of your phone *as* it copies that picture onto the flash drive. So the only place on earth that the photos you’ve put on the flash drive now exist is on the flash drive [or possibly also the cloud, depending]. (And of course if you say “no” to that option, then the pictures remain on your phone even when they’re copied onto the disk).
If it’s something important I would suggest backing it up from the disk to somewhere additional - laptop, a different flash drive, external HD, etc. even just temporarily) until you are certain that this works for you the way you want it to.
As far as photos that you already have on the flash drive, what is supposed to happen is that when you plug it back in to your phone, the app is supposed to remember exactly where you left off. I say “supposed to“ because I’ve not created folders on it yet, I’ve just used the first screen with the two little circles that show how much room is on the device and how much is on whatever you’re backing up from (phone). FOR ME it *has* indeed gone back to exactly where I left off each time I’ve plugged it back in, and unless I tell it to do something else it resumes downloading from right where it left off; and the photos that it had already downloaded before then are still there.
So, short answer, to my knowledge the only way this device does something is if you tell it too.
(but if you’re nervous: again use the USB at the other end and ➡️ back up the photos you already have on the disk, even temporarily, to an additional device) - BTW this does *not* delete them from the disk or change their location on it, etc.
Then go ahead go back to using the disk and your phone and do a back up and restore and see what happens.
I’m sure it will be just as you wish with your photos on board and the “create new folder” option availability.
(And if not, the worst case scenario is that the photos that you already have on the disk are not showing up on the disk [which I would be really *really* surprised by, because this is intended to be a storage device], BUT you still have them backed up on whatever secondary device you chose so you still have all your your photos.)

I think it should still be in your flash go if you saved it there. That’s the purpose of it. Hope that helps
I have this iXpand drive that has been working great for several months. I got low on memory on muy phone and deleted the app (the app seems to accumulate data as its used and starts to take up a lot of space on the phone) and reinstalled it to backup my new photos. I went throught the typical "Accept" yada yada sequence, but got stuck when a rectangle popped up with a message on it "Cannot access photo library. Please enable access to your photo library in the Settings tab." I went to Settings, and I didn't really notice anything i need to do, but I can't get this message to go away.
Any tips or ideas?

You can organize PDF and Text file from iphone's file app, like copy, move, and delete. Not in ixpand app itself :)

When I click on "copy files" as you did at the 5:19 mark, my photo gallery did not open up. I have thousands of photos on my phone. I really want to free up space. Can you think of any reason why it is not recognizing my photos?

If I download the lphone pictures on a windows computer, does the pictures remember the original time and date or the date changes with the date I download them? It happened before with other method of backup on Windows.

Yes, instead of copying it to iXpand you can copy from iXpand back to iPhone. Hope this helps 👍

I believe I know how to use the drive, but something strange is that the copied files names are not like IMG 242. jpeg but they come out with a weird name 0d60cf98e0a5d613-photo.jpg, but if I plug my phone to the computer those files names are standard like the IMG 242.jpg Any hints? I think it would work if the iPad uses the lightning plug. If not, you will need to buy the luxe one. The luxe one uses the usb-c plug

It should be on the on the screen that shows all the drives that are connected to that computer (internal or external), usually prefaced alphabetically with a lowercase letter - so it should be the last one, with the “furthest” lowercase level [just like when you insert any USB, SD, etc.]
You may have to go searching for that “computer” screen to open it; but just plugging it in should put it in that list.
Unless, and I have NO idea if it does or not; but does the Sandisc have the ability to lock? I have not encountered this option, but I haven’t been using the product very long myself. Though even if it does, (1) I would think it would be hard to turn on a lock feature accidentally on this device and (2) again IDK for sure b/c limited computer knowledge - but if you plug in something that is locked, wouldn’t a screen pop up asking for a password or code or even just inform you that it cannot open the device contents for you b/c it is locked?
I would suggest removing and reinserting the disk (but or going so far as to shut down and restart the computer first) and, if no “click here to open me” message or a drive list with it having the last lowercase letter; I would search for the screen that contains the computer drive list (I think it’s usually called “computer“, or “this computer“ - but I am not near a laptop/desktop right now).
