  • In the conventional model there is only one treatment for hypothyroidism.

I'm not sure I agree with the sx management you have listed. Levothyroxine is the typical first line therapy, and where the diet comes in is to help the body absorb/metabolize. Clinical diagnoses of major depressive disorder (MDD) and anxiety disorders (e.g PD, Simple/complex phobias) are more likely to precede the onset of HT symptoms, and clinical guidelines (APA) typically have exclusionary criteria related to physical illness and/or bereavement. Narcotic pain meds are also rarely prescribed, other than NSAIDs (e.g. 800mg Ibuprofen). But I do think more holistic types of practitioners like DCs can help with broader lifestyle changes and focused physical therapy as part of a holistic functional medicine program. So I enjoy your videos.

Yes, after multiple family members with lifetime of this and early death.

Thank God we have wise doctors like you promoting health with specific lifestyle changes!
Besides the effects you listed, is there any reason to suspect long term thyroid medication treatment could contribute to dementia in later life?

That is a great question. Did you ever get an answer to this?

Another great video. Conventional medical responses are so lacking.
Yet, I wish Dr. Sung would have expounded on the removal or dairy and gluten from the diet. How does this impact the thyroid function?
Are there any other food sources that should be reevaluated?
How often would he recommend thyroid testing?

I was anxious until I started taking extra vitamin B1. I discovered this by watching Dr. Eric Berg videos. My anxiety is gone now. I also take B complex!

So is there no treatment for Hashimoto’s other than dietary? If you have an elevated TPO (currently 313) but clinically ‘normal’ TSH/T3/T4 but have physical symptoms and a goiter, would this point to Hashimoto’s?

fortunately even if my labs don’t look exactly typical hypothyroid numbers, my doc said the results and my symptoms are enough for her to treat me and continue monitoring regularly. The cause is still unknown but its better than previous docs who just stopped at tsh and told me it’s the most sensitive test anyway.

Amazing video. May I ask why eliminating dairy all together? I don’t see for example how consuming yogurt or kefir or Parmesan cheese, aged goat and sheep cheeses would trigger autoimmune reactions.

I love your thyroid videos. I eliminated bread and white flour. My thyroid levels are within range.
