When i feel its long enough to get it cut, what do i tell the barber/stylist so they know how i want it? last thing i want is to spend all this time growing my hair only to fuck it all up in the end because i dont know what to say to the person cutting my hair :/

THANK YOU! I've been searching for something like this forever to show to my sister in law(she's the only one I allow to cut my hair now when I go for longer styles). I attempted this cut after a year and a half of growing out my hair and explained basically the one length with the slight layering in the back thing to him and he took off way too much hair. My hair went from 7ish"(Im on the slow grow side) to around 3". And basically butchered the back. I was so mad. Now I can get the correct cut in a few months when my hair grows back and I can cut it to one length.

Seriously addicted to all of your videos! I got my license about a year ago and have been waiting to cut a longer men's cut like this, but have been racking my brain trying to figure out how to do it without it looking feminine. I start an apprenticeship with my first long men's haircut tomorrow, and this video has been so helpful, along with the Johnny Depp video you posted. I'm no longer nervous about "bobbing" him!!

Hey Stephen I went to the barber to get a one length haircut so I could get this style and although everything is the same length it still has the same shape where the back extends below the front. What should I do? I really don't want to lose and length.

TheSalonGuy I wish I had this tutorial in the summer when I cut my hair that was down to my chest.
I went to the stylist asked for this and she cut the top to about 4-5 inches and the back and sides way too short about 2-3 inches because its hard to tell from pictures how long the sides and back were(even though I had many pics). So I had a haircut somewhere between this and an undercut.
I went home watched a video most likely yours and gave myself an undercut haha.
ps. Brad pitt had this cut in Killing Them Softly.

first off my hair grows forward very much it always wants to go forward. now I can get it to stay back with a generous amount of gel or hair product.My hair is not cut to this style i am waiting for it to grow out a little bit. Now am i hopelessly outmatched by genes? my hair is thick and coarse like asian hair. I am not asian but my hair is very similar. You need to maybe thin it or texturize it. That adds different lengths in the hair which makes it easier to style.

its kinda hard for me just because the hair from top is like 33 cm and back/sides about 19 cm, maybe that's the reason why the hair falling bad on a side or another,never lay down on back properly, any advice?

I thought that how Jax ended up with his hair like that was just having it shaved in prison in season 4, then it growing out through seasons 5-7. At least for the shorter, slicked back look anyway, which is what I'm going for.
Want something practical, easy to keep out of my face, doesn't need a lot of maintenance but is also kind of stylish (because I'm not that old yet).
