GENERATION ZERO TOP TIPS IN 2020 !
With so many big changes to the game since its release in March 2019 this game has changed so much, so iv decided to put together a few new tips to help all players old and new in 2020 !!
I will also have a video detailing all the machine components coming soon !
After an amazing few months of the game and so many improvements theres still so much to come 2020 is going to be an awesome year for this game and i will be covering it every step of the way so make sure you subscribe !!

Generation Zero. Welcome to 1980's Sweden. The local population has disappeared, and hostile machines roam the streets fight off the hostile machines solo or with a team, scavenge for weapons and loot in the fight to survive and find out what or who caused all of this.
My gameplay walkthrough will include main missions kicking some robot ass safe house unlocks collectibles skill unlocks as we try to find out what went wrong, oh and any and all goodies we come across whilst playing !!

I have a few
You can use breaker boxes on various buildings to EMP entire city blocks.
You can safely shoot through the cracks in barn doors while they are closed.
You can use Radios to enter several off limits areas around the game world.
When fighting 2 large enemies, if you position yourself correctly you can get one to destroy the other with friendly fire.
Use common ammo to take off armor before switching to more valuable ammo to deal damage.

How can you use radios to enter off limits areas?
@@cat157 You can look on top of ledges, through cracks in doors and just about anywhere you can see inside of and place a radio, you can than face travel inside.

I managed to get a harvester to destroy a tank by using fireworks the tank got confused and the Goliath fired towards me and the tank turned and took almost all of the missiles
They really need to add a skill reassignment option, I understand that it is hard to balance with the game not having a currency but even if they just did it on a 24 hour cool down to be able to try an entirely different build without spending an insane amount of hours with a new character would be absolutely great.
They could integrate a quest for that. Having to search for keycards (10-20) on Rivals. Those would give you access to a bunker where you could reset your skills.
Now that would be wicked!!
Or better, each new "level" you reach after 32 gives you the chance to respec one skill point.

ALL machines have fuel tanks, the harvesters box is armor for the fuel tank
The best tip I have for newer players is all explosions are twice as big as you think they are going to be lmao Idk how many times I have been blown up by my own traps but the enemies are always dead as well

When aiming there is now gun sway, but there should be a button for holding your breath to stabilize it. Unfortunately it uses stamina ridiculously fast... I think this was added in an update during the few months I didn't have time to play the game, but I didn't notice because my highest level character has the Marksman specialization that eliminates sway completely. Sniping rules, though you need both a good gun with gold scope and silencer and points in stealth skills to keep you hidden both before and after you take your shot.
Harvesters do have fuel tanks, but they are in that big box at the back. If you have the experimental .50 railgun and can aim at it from the side you can destroy all three tanks with one shot.
Sniping military and higher runners is easier if you get them to turn away because the fuel tank is only armored from the front. Using silenced gun if you miss the machine will turn to look at the place the bullet hit because it heard that but didn't detect you; if you hit it it can figure out where the shot came from.
If you can snipe a fuel tank when runners are crowded close together you might destroy the whole group.
Aside from flares, fireworks can mess up enemy targeting. This includes ticks and makes them attack the machine that deploys them, but apocalypse ticks have only a poison attack that does no damage to the machines; it will still keep them away from you for a while.
If you get a detection signal from a house it is a tick waiting inside. You can shoot the electric box on the side of the house to blast it, shoot it through the windows, sneak to the door and shoot it on the leg without exposing it's body or throw a flare, firework or grenade into the room. If you open the door so that you can see the tick's body it will awaken and jump at you causing damage faster than you can shoot it.
Pile more than one fuel tank or mine close together to cause more damage than if you used them to blast the machine one by one.
Looking at a machine with IR, the black spots are vital components that can be shot for extra damage.

@@WIREDGAMING That was the tip I was going to leave after being sarky, and then I couldn't remember it! If you have IR on your weapon sight, you don't need binoculars blocking a use-slot - as you engage a big machine, switch to IR and all the components are black patches on the red, until you destroy each, at which point it goes red like the rest i.e. disappears. And you can still engage, say, a tank, if it hides behind the trees.

In reply to the above, the dmr setup works really well for my playstyle. Combined with the SMG + silencer I think I've found my meta. Pump action shotgun on the side for when it gets intense.
This game is gorgeous and has a fantastic atmosphere.
Helpful tips man. I got gifted this game on steam a couple days ago and have been enjoying it thoroughly.
Shotgun slugs have been my go to when things go wrong with my hunting rifle, but I never thought about turning an assault rifle into a dmr. That may help a lot. Cheers.

It works a treat mate bit tricky trying to control the recoil though
My tip is, that even if harvesters are more scary and cool after the update you can still kill them really fast by EMP them just before they try to call for their hunters.

@@WIREDGAMING The rocket runners got nerfed after the update and sometimes harvesters don't have runners with them I found.But if you do find a harvester with runners it most likely has one rocket runner.
Before the update when harvesters didn't spawn hunters you didn't even need EMP's. they couldn't blow you away when standing behind them. or shoot of you of course. I used to stand behind them and shoot their gas canister, they die in a matter of seconds even FNIX type class harvesters. I'd be hunting them because it's basically free loot.

Yeah man its not for the faint of heart but its awesome and has hours of entertainment!!
Same, bought it on Steam with the expansion pack included. Its great fun but hard & slow, travelling around the map takes ages.
Also my pc hates it. Even with the graphics cranked right down I'm struggling.
I love and hate it. On solo its hard even on adventure. With some friends its makeable.

I finished Metro Exodus a few days ago, and it feels like I died more in the first island of this game than in the whole of ME.

I've been struggling a lot in this game on skirmish difficulty. I'm playing solo and started just a couple days ago. I've been having fun though!
It's definitely tough at the beginning dude but once you've got a few decent weapon's you'll smash it ! Glad you're enjoying it dude !
They should make an Enemy AI switch to switch the robots back and forth between the old and new AI.

I’m so glad to see gen 0 stuff in 2020. My strategy is to get as many as I can in one tight spot then snipe a fuel tank killing every robot that relies on the tanks being alive

I've been keeping an eye out for new tips since this free week, since I'm a new player, but everything has been horribly outdated because of the difficulty spike (people casually circle strafing Harvesters, and not dying immediately to rocket barrages and Hunter spawns). I'd love to see more general early/mid game tips with big bots, using tier 2/3 weapons.
if you come across the situation that you have loads of medkits (happened to me atm with over 300 medkits that are using up space)
You can just get really close to the Harvester and let the Hunters kill it while using one medkit after the other.
Works surprisingly fast
The game started out much more like it is now - you avoided big machines like the plague. As we all got better, we got blasé, but we're all having to rethink now. Sneaky does it - avoid combat if you can. If you can't, fight on your terms. If you can't do that, drop a flare and run away!
100% agree mate!! And flares are a life saver man!!
And chuck a flare under the harvester that way you won't take as much damage!
I am a newer player as well I noticed a shotgun with buckshot and a choke is pretty effective for hatvesters if you throw a flare and get in behind them quickly the medium emps are also great for this as they are throwable and the small ones don't seem to work on the harvesters. When it comes to tanks I focus the guns immediately and once they are down it's a cake walk
I think you can high light the components by the advansed Intel skill i think??
All these tips would have being for 2019 too, was hoping to see new tips with the new update added

Hey Wired what is the deal with health amount one play through i had 3 points into it and i didn't get the 30% onto my heath bar or did they change the way it works?
Oh right maybe its a bug mate im bot actually sure on that one
I think the 100 is technically a percentage not a number value I noticed once I raised mine that health kits gave less health and enemies seemed to do less damage as well So you get the actual health increase you just don't see it

Recently bought the game last week xbox spring sale, question for vets. Have they fixed the save issue in multiplayer I read about. Me and boys play in my lobby. I know saves are auto when you get to safe houses? If my buddy plays 5 hours with me, then hops on his game in solo will he be in same spot we left off together or is his save data tied to me as the host when we co op?
I think the save issue has been foxed but im not 100% sure mate, when he jumps back into his world he should be where you both left off 😁
Mate how to counter hunters with 50 cals is you shoot mgs and jump around constantly and they will miss and vanguard skill for 25% resistance to everything

So, for the hoarders out there.
You can create a backup Plundra by using a spare character slot. Borkugan in the North, and Ostervek Industrial safe houses spawn you directly in front of a Plundra. You can then load your character with as much as you want - but movement will be disabled so it's literally storage only. I used this character for all heavy weaponry, textiles, and all the whole collection of 5* gear and attachments from pre Experimental weapon drops.
You can also scroll the inventory tally quicker by pressing same direct on both the analogue and the thumbstick.
Just another note to mention, try to avoid loading this character into multiplayer lobbies. I'd doesn't take too kindly to loading heavy inventory's and will 9/10 cause issues for everyone in it.

@@WIREDGAMING No worries mate, I'm with a group at the moment on the Gnome Mask hunt so always sharing tips in party chat. Makes moving the 25,000 rounds of 7.62 a bit faster. Solid video as-well, well made.

Pro tip: Learn Swedish before you play the game. That one is very easy

i think they updated emps. i haven't been able to set one down yet. I can only throw them.
You can set down the large ones and batteries but small and medium are throwables. Im sure ypu used to be able to place the medium though

Kill the harvester before the hunters that it spawned so it doesn't spawn more.
Or kill one hunter and shoot of the others arm gun and it won't spawn any more unless you kill the other on accedent. I advise killing the sniper hunters first so you don't keep getting sniper out of existence. It saves a lot of time.

May I congratulate you on a spectacularly unsuccessful demonstration? Nothing worked, delightfully. (I know it does normally). They've nerfed the loot from machines, especially med-kits and you need many more now, so looting houses and bases is going to become the new norm.
I like to do things differently 😂😂 oh i know i think looting is now the better way i used to pretty only scavenge from machines but not anymore
I also do gamings
military hunters are freaking annoying with their aimbot gas spam, but other then that it's good
my advise is don't stop spraying,praying and yeeting flare and fireworks

The assault rifle is far less accurate than the hunting rifle(s), so you miss much more frequently when aiming, even if you shouldn’t.
Really? Iv noticed on small controlled bursts or semi it seems to do alright the recoil on the ag4 is a bitch though
That’s just in my experience. Maybe it’s because my equipment is just bad, but even on semi and x1 or x2 zoom at medium range it still misses very frequently, even when aiming at larger components or just the body in general.

Hmmm that's a tough one man i love ac but i think gen z is definitely worth the money!
I didn't like Odyssey, it's a huge map of nothing. It's too complicated. It just isn't my type of game.

Harvestors have the tanks on the back AND the large rocket launchers on the back. They both can be destroyed.

So is this the answer from developers? The game has turned into a disaster and all what they can say is this? These tips are not helping when an enemy is spawning next to you when you are inside of a sealed house.
