Aquarium Co-Op i would recommend marine land’s all in one remedy. It treats ich, bacterial infections, and damaged fins. This medicine doesn’t hurt catfish, for example I have a pictus catfish and he was completely fine so it’s good for them.

Hey Cory quick question for you. I just had an ich outbreak in my cichlid tank which I’m taking care of, but it made me think about my other tank. I have a turtle living with about 20 tiger barbs and a handful of other fish. I’ve heard you talk about owning turtles in some of your other videos. So here’s my question. If I was to have an ich outbreak in my turtle/fish tank, would Ich X be harmful to use with my turtle living in there? Just curious if you’ve ever ran into something like this and if you would treat it the same way as with a fish only tank.

We actually ordered a bottle of Ich-X from you, today, an East Texas order! We bought some tools for planting, and plant supplements from you, last week, and everything went smoothly, you've likely become our go-to for supplies. Our Green Tiger Barbs, our Clown Loach, and likely, though it's very hard to tell, our three Corydoras all have Ich. Hopefully the Ich-X will get our little guys shipshape. I'm always horrified at the thought that the meds will kill them, it's like you said. It's more likely the medication will kill them than the Ich. While that is actually INCREDIBLY comforting, it's also very daunting. I've always believed I killed a betta of mine years ago, while trying to cure his popeye. I'm haunting by it any time our babies need meds. Thank you, Cory! Your videos are vital to us, keep them coming.

I just wanted to say, I really love your videos. I am a veterinarian and I think you do a fantastic job of explaining how water parameters and other causes of stress (overcrowding, temp etc) can cause immune suppression resulting in disease. I also think your explanation of how a primary disease can result in secondary infections is wonderful. I love that your content is super approachable and you make me as a new fish keeper feel like I can handle these problems when they could feel very overwhelming. Thank you for making your content!

Cory, I really want to thank you for this video, because it saved the vast majority of my fish. I've had an established African cichlid tank for 3 years now and I made the terrible mistake of adding a couple new fish without using a quarantine tank. I'm not sure if the ich came first or if the bacterial infection was what led to ich, but 2 days after adding my new fish, one of them was dead, and more than half my fish had ich spots. Many started getting frayed fins, and one particularly beautiful scolofi cichlid caught the worst of it. I've never seen a fish bleed from fin rot before before but it was horrible to witness, I love those guys and to see them in so much pain was agonizing. To make matters worse I caught the flu at the same time my fish got sick. Between shivering fever and hacking coughs, I managed to find and use the meds you recommended and they worked like a freaking charm. I lost 2 fish but I managed to save 25 more. They owe their lives to you, because I would never have used more than a simple ich remedy if I hadn't found your video. I just wanted you to know the impact that you've had from this video, and again extend my deepest thanks.

I really want to thank you for this video. I watched it a few months ago and decided that you were right, it's better to have this on hand when needed than to suddenly need it and not be able to get it in time. I bought some and it's just been sitting in the cabinet unused, however, 4 days ago I had an Ich outbreak and 20+ fish were infected. I rewatched this video, pulled out the Ich-X and started treating them. As of today, I only see 1-2 spots on the fins of a couple of fish and I only lost one (the mostly severely infected little guy) and I can't thank you enough. I've never dealt with Ich before and was surprised how quickly it took hold. I observe my fish pretty well every day and by the time I saw it, one fish was covered in spots and the other 19 had them all over their fins. I think taking your advice and having this on hand saved my fish! Thank you!

There should be no issue, but we suggest adding aeration during the treatment period and avoid any over dose." . They are large enough for me to see with my terrible eyesight so they must have survived the last few days that I've been dosing. They are so darn cute!

Oh my gosh Cory. I'm so glad I stumbled across your channel! I have been fighting cotton wool disease and ich for almost a month. Cotton wool started on 3 of my 4 tiny goldfish in my 10 gallon tank. The 3 died quickly, but the 4th was fine. All seemed well for a couple of weeks. Suddenly, one night, in my 25 gallon, my two 7" goldfish that I've had for about 8 years started looking awful. Hazy, sort of. In the morning, I started the Kordon fungus treatment stuff I had. Their fins had red streaks, there was little red patches all over, and later that day, you could see cotton wool on their bodies. The next morning they were covered in ick. Other than my 2 big goldfish, I'm fairly new to aquariums, and have NO experience with diseases. Those 2 fish were alive through sheer determination and spite...on their parts! I researched everything I could online, asked opinons at a few fish stores, and everyone told me something different. Even with photos, they said fish don't have both diseases at the same time. I tried several things over the next couple of days- aquarium salt, the fungus treatment, ich meds, raising the temp. I watched my fish get worse by the hour, and could plainly see they were suffering. 5 days after they started with the illnesses, my husband and I decided it was cruel to continue, and I euthanized them. Yeah, had to google that as well. Clove oil seemed to be the most humane way to do it. It was the most horrible experience. When those two goldfish got sick, I had moved my bristlenose pleco and 4 danios into a seperate tank. On the 5th day, my pleco died. No signs of anything except maybe if you squinted hard, he might have been starting with ich. The danios are fine. The 4th tiny goldfish from the original incident in my 10 gallon now also has cotton wool disease, and my 3 guppies in that same tank have ich. I'm at the point where I want to flush everything and either put it away or start new. I found ich-x on amazon, but it's not through prime, so it would take 2-3 weeks to arrive, and it's $64! I'm in Canada, where apparently the postal service desperately needs our money, so they charge eleventy-billion dollars to ship anything (lol sort of). Even if I can't get the exact thing you reccommend, you've still given me (yes, this sounds super cheesy) the will to go on! LOL Anyway, love your videos, I hope you keep making them. Thank you thank you thank you! A Canadian fan

We don’t quarantine our fish (not my decision) but the ones that do some with Ich on them are healthy by the third day of treatment

I loved the information you imparted about ICK. Your tone and pace made it so easy to absorb the information. What I have not found on ANY VIDEO is HOW TO TREAT by SHOWING how to treat. How to Quarantine (or do you?), How to clean the "features" in the tank (or DO YOU NOT NEED to remove them?) How to keep aerated in a SEPARATE tank? SO many questions that a video watching you remove/treat fish would be INCREDIBLY helpful- especially for a novice. Thank you.

Just one nitpick, Cory, if we agree that ich is a parasitic organism then it must be introduced into a tank via some contamination route. Failing to properly sanitize dip nets or other fish care supplies in between different tanks is a likely pathway that kinda cancels quarantining.
If a new sterile tank is set up with sterile substrate and new equipment then parasites can only have entered via new fish or via cross contaminated equipment.
You're absolutely correct though. Every fishkeeper needs to be prepared to deal with it as if it's always hovering around as a potential outbreak.
