I have the base trim LX with AWD, as I actually prefer the cloth seats, which in this vehicle are very comfortable. Yet as a base trim, this vehicle still feels very luxurious, and still has many of the important needed extra features. It handles and rides beautifully, and I love the look of this car. It is truly a work of art. I can’t stop looking at it. Overall absolutely love my new 2023 HRV AWD LX.

I got mine at the end of June. I absolutely love it. I thought the 2022 HRV was an excellent vehicle. This car, however, was obsession worthy for me. I was counting down the days until I got mine! The interior is slick, there are interesting touches, like the A/C fan will quiet when you use voice commands or talk on the phone. The Honda sensing is fantastic. The ride is phenomenal. One of the most comfortable riding cars I’ve ever been in.

Had to get a Sport instead of a Ex-l but I won't hate it for the whole time I own it due to feeling like I got ripped off every time I got in it. If I were looking for a compact crossover to buy it would be the 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross hybrid, which should be available this fall in the U.S. The hybrid Corolla Cross is reported that will perform with 194 hp vs 158 hp in the new Honda Civic HRV. I don’t remember exactly what is the average mpg for the HRV but it would be less than that of the Toyota Corolla Cross hybrid of 37 mpg - to me that’s a no brainer to choose the Toyota over the Honda, especially offering about the same cargo volume of about 24 cu ft for both vehicles.

@@HawkeyeRides I backpack and climb so I am one of those people who actually take their vehicle off of the pavement.
This also requires me gaining elevation with gear in the vehicle.
That extra hp(torque more importantly) keeps one from having to smash the gas pedal through the firewall to keep up with others when the vehicle is loaded and going into the mountainous regions for instance(elevation gains.)
The 2L Crosstrek has this problem as well which is fairly comparable to the HRVs output numbers.
I dunno. I mean sure they could have probably dropped the 1.5 turbo in it from the CRV but I think they are maybe reserving that for future upcoming trim levels.
The 1.5 would put the HRV in line with the Subaru I mentioned above as well as others like the CX30(non-turbo) in the segment.
      (Subbed)

    • @RKmndo
      @RKmndo Před 2 lety +1

The 1.5T would be better at altitude too.
The Crosstrek has it for ground clearance, towing capacity, smooth engine/ride, 2.5L power, and ESPECIALLY aftermarket support...which continues to grow. No other compact CUV has an aftermarket diff-locker available, and Crosstrek skids are offered by several mfrs. Winchmounts too.
I can get 45+MPG with a 2.slo/CVT Crosstrek, but I don't know how different competitors are from EPA estimates.
Honda makes great engines. They make reliable cars. Toyota is generally pretty close too. If Subaru puts the 2.4T in a Crosstrek Wilderness or XT though, with a 6spd manual OR the chain-driven CVT, it might be all over in this CUV class. That 2.4T is ripe for tuning, but it's no slouch in stock trim either. The boxer engines are surprisingly smooth and easy to work on too.

Gas mileage is worse in class for a subcompact suv, so that alone is a no go for me. Price tag, high road noise, no turbo option, and in alot of states, the AWD only option sure doesnt help either. Honda Automotive is a dead company walking. Honda's inventory (at least in North America) is down 83 percent. In other words, it's running out of cars to sell. I'd be very careful about purchasing anything new from Honda. If it goes under, who'll honor the warranty?

If anything were to happen another company would buy them, I wouldn’t worry about them 👍🏻

Umm every single car dealership of every company has no new cars. U kind of living in a hermit cave or somethin? I can tell you Chevy, Toyota, and Honda have no new cars (unless your looking for bigger gas guzzler SUV's) when I went looking last weekend. Long wait lists. No Camry, Corolla, Corolla Cross, Civic, HRV, etc. You should just refrain from posting to avoid looking like a fool. KKthnks!

Someone would have to be a fool to purchase this over a used wagon. This has the horsepower of a car from the 1980s. It isn't compact at all. The 0-60 is 13 seconds! It is truly unsafe. And it's 20k more than a used wagon with much more power. A used crosstrek turbo or Cx-30 turbo are much much safer cars.

It's not for everyone but this is what most to all of the auto industry is doing, making vehicles with less power.
