I have seen people go from new, to hundreds of thousands of subscribers. Dont worry man, it takes a longer and longer time to catch on as youtube tightens their grip etc. Just keep being yourself because thats the best part of this channel. Alot of recording channels start out primitive but honest, and if they get money/followers/sponsors they seem to slowly evolve into the home recording equivalent of those lifestyle vlogs that models have on instagram. I like home studios to be more like a sound laboratory. With experiments going on. Like Joe Meek.
Thanks for the words of encouragement! HAHA! It's nice to hear stuff like this. I never dream of 300k subs... I'm amazed I have 300! I'm too caffeinated (and lazy) to be anything but myself so I'm doomed to underground status! I'll take it!

Ahahahaha, I totally hate those dumb, open-mouthed thumbnails! You made me laugh. Also, I used to have that same orange chair! It was a good chair, I miss it. And on the subject of recording, that room mic setup was a real surprise. Also, demonstrative. Reinforcing the "try anything and if it works it works" ethos rather than the "Warm audio sent me free stuff and you should buy it" ethos is exactly what people (me included) need to be reminded of more often. Though I do hope that some companies send you some stuff.

My adventures in reverb chambers got me thinking about places to try out ambience mics in the drum room itself... along with none other than the king of the bad acting you tube covers.. Warren Huart. It was either a vid about setting up drum mics in Sunset Sound, or possibly United, where they mic'd the floor. It made sense.
Today I'm setting up some stereo mics in the hall "chamber" to see which is better... and planning on leaving them always patched in and ready to go.. like a proper chamber!
Trying to finish up another good vid at least before end of year, so many things I WANT to do.. but this week all I've been doing is playing with mics and the drum set. It's been FUN!
