This was a childhood dream of Dimash. He shared that, at the age of 5, he had a VHS of a concert of Maestro Domingo and from that time he dreamed of meeting and working with him. I am certain Dimash appreciated the opportunity to support young classical artists at the invitation of Maestro Domingo. We are all do proud of him. This duet is magical.

The beauty of this performance makes me cry every time. I suspect I have now wtached this at least 50 times and yet tears still fall.
I prefer Metal over Opera but our beloved Dimash breaks all boundries. Placido is 83 and still a magnificient stallion of a voice.🌹🫶🌹

Placido Domingo, born Jan. 21, 1941 and Dimash, born May 24, 1994 singing this classic duet on December 10, 2023. So there's 53 years between them, let that sink in for a moment. Placido's voice is still wonderful at age 82 in this clip.

Dimash was actually university-trained in classical music and was offered a position at the Astana Opera house in Kazakhstan but preferred to carve his career in another fashion.

Next Friday, January 26, Dimash will sing with Plácido Domingo’son. He is also a tenor. This performance is the closing ceremony of the classical talent show Virtuosos. Even at 83 years old Placido Domingo is nothing short of amazing.
Dimash of course was brilliant as always and of course he studied and sung Opera before switching to other genres. Lest we forget Dimash was invited to join the Opera in Astana prior to his decision to explore other musicalities. Absolutely beautiful. ♥️❤️💕🕊

Thank you for your heartfelt reaction. This was a great moment in history. This was a dream come true for Dimash who actually said to Placido that he came to music due to watching and listening to the VHS tape of him with the original 3 tenors performance back in the 90’s when Dimash was just 5 years old. They were magnificent together. The harmonies! Wow! William, the Bangkok Voice Coach who reacted to this performance said that he used to perform this, and knew this piece so well, and that it was not an easy piece to do, and what Dimash and Placido’s duet performance moved him to tears. 😭 I totally agreed. ❤

It was a privilege, rightly so, but even a greater honor for Dimash was that the invitation came personally from the maestro himself, when they both met for the first time before the contest for young musical prodigies. They were judges on this contest. Dimash graduated college with a bachelor degree in classical singing, bel canto, but at the uni he decided to take another bachelor degree in contemporary music and Masters in composition. He is also a songwriter and a good one at that. Thank you for your reaction, much appreciated 😊❤

I’ve played this several times a day since it dropped. It’s so beautiful. I’m sure Dimash was in awe. I so wish we could go back in time and hear this same piece with Dimash singing the baritone part and Placido, at his prime, in the lead. He’s always been my favorite operatic tenor.
