Productive Day in My Life: 5AM wake-up, gym session, cake decorating, shopping, and Hound time!

Join me for a busy day off from my remote work 9-5 engineering job, but still full of other work! 5AM wake up to hit the gym (new 3 rep max on my cleans!!), then home and into some cake prep - I was making a "Death to my Twenties" themed cake and it was a really fun project to work on. Full video on that to come soon! Some boring housework and cleaning, a little bit of fun shopping (I have a BIG trip coming up in January!), and lots of Houndy time and reading.

I got Lowa hiking boots for the first time and I want to love them so bad but after a few months of trying to break them in, theyre still not working for my feet. Probably a silly question, when you make an 8inch cake, is the cake board also 8 inches or should the cake board be bigger?

Not silly at all!! I go 2” bigger for cake boards (usually). So most of my cakes are 6”, and I use an 8” board for the base! Unless it’s the top tier of a stacked cake, then I’ll use the same size as the base so it’s hidden when I stack it.
