Within Temptation, Evanescence, and Nightwish are my all time favorite bands that have a female front/singer. I like them all for different things, but Sharon den Adel's voice is petrifying yet totally awesome!
Something that makes this creepier is that she has the voice of an angel so it's like the angels are singing themselves~!

Found this song ages ago. I was watching a Final Fantasy AMV that used this song. I swear this song feels mythical. Its hard to explain but it feels like I can relate while also feeling the full brunt tragedy of the songs point. I think I owe that to the music. The vocalist adds a weird angelic mix too. Hahaha I aint the best at explaining feelings but Id say this is close.
This is my number one favorite music video by Within Temptation. It also happens to be the first song that introduced me to this awesome band. I've watched some of their other videos and can't get into them. However, I love practically all their songs. If not for the Sims 2 version of this video someone created I would likely not have discovered WT... They are in my book the best band ever!

There is a demon who poses as a pastor, he uses his appearance as a kind man to lure young woman to his house where he kills them and buries them in the desert. One day he finds another young woman (you'll notice she was dropped off on purpose as if waiting for him) and tries to do his usual scheme. He thinks he has killed her and brings her to his burial site, but only then does he realize she was an angel giving him one last chance...she ends his reign and saves the souls of his victims.

I'll always love WT. Perfect blend of melodic rock and her amazing voice in my opinion. I can listen to metal and heavy rock any time, but her voice makes WT unique for me :)

I always cry, at the scene where she rises up and the "priest" is made to bear the weight of their presence. I don't know why that plays so strong on my emotional cord, but it doesn't really matter. Because the song could make me cry on just the power of the music.

I actually really do love this video, especially the twist with the band being vigilante angels and getting rid of the demon-man. Kind of makes me wish they did a follow-up video for it.

if you watch the part about her discovering what he is, he hid himself as whatever was needed to lure people in the current situation.
Many dark people hide themselves in things contrary to their actions in order to deceive the world and cover their own crimes and sins.
Unfortunately true Christians who are good decent kind people get lumped in with the abusers, fakes, and bigots who hide using our beliefs (speaking for myself) to justify their own sins.
This video speaks to me in a lot of ways, it moves me partly because I know the reality of dark people and dark so called believers harms those of us trying to do good in this world.

Many great points. Lucifer himself was once an angel after all, heavens most beautiful angel in fact, before he fell from grace. I've always thought the goat depiction we always see is such a clever ruse that he's convinced so many of... they expect to see this hideous creature at face value for what he is within on the surface... but instead, this wretched fallen creature will portray himself as he was before he fell, beautiful and radiant. It's funny how such terrible evil can wear such a convincing mask. Trust your gut, not your eyes.

Agreed. Many of Sharon's songs are about the darker corners of human behavior. I gather from the repeated theme of many of her songs that she was abused in ugly ways by someone when she was very young.

Stolen Babies, In this moment, Within Temptation and the grand finaly with Lacuna Coil. Best show i've ever seen and also the best performance was Within Temptation of course!
