I can't take it this has to be the best I've ever heard! kudos to the person who wrote this! I'm a Man's Man but I gotta admit I cry every time I hear this
This sounds silly and childish. Her weight didn’t hold her back in the industry. People’s tastes in music did. Labels put money into what sells. As well written, produced, and performed as this song was, it was on an album that didn’t perform as well as this single. What succeeds get duplicated and promoted. What doesn’t gets moved aside. Patti has some excellent songs but the albums were somewhat uneven in performance.
Omg this song does it for me... I'm considered to be A Man's Man but tears run down my face every time I hear this song!I mean this is just the kind of song that touches my heart tremendously, you can tell that Patti put her all into this one Omg an all-time hit no doubt... Just like the title this song gets better and better "Through The Test of Time"!
I remember playing this song with my headphones on…Closing my eyes and just memorizing that it was just me and her in the room and she was just singing to me such a beautiful voice
I came to like this beautiful classic during the Radio metro days,,,not the now metro fm...1991 was the year at the Sebokeng college of education with my first love being her favorite song...
She's Quincy Jones' Goddaughter. The story is he came over and played some raw mixes for her parents to critique. Later that night her parent's called Q, frantic. 5 year old Patti was singing Every song from the Dinah Washington recordings she had heard that afternoon, word for word, note by note. Quincy personally groomed her letting her and her voice mature till she was ready.
It has been a perfect performance for me having a lovely and awesome Fan like you, thanks for subscribing to my CZcams page, I really appreciate the love and support you showered on me !!! Kindly send me a text here to talk better 615-667-9728 .......
This video is great because Patti has her late parents in it, her friend & powerhouse vocalist Joceyn Brown who did backgrounds with others on this song, David Pack, co-composer, with Jeff Pescetto & a fine vocalist, producer also. & the joy that seems to be a whole lot of what Patti's life is about ...: )
This song makes me think about my angel who is my grandmother who passed away the same time this song came out my life took a tragic turn but God is the greatest
This song fills lots of emotions in me as I know as this decade, music never will be like this. So heart warming and tune nostalgic. Glad YT is here to go back to the 90's music instead of listening on the radio of today's rubbish.
I love you Mrs Patti Austin you are such an amazing singer and songwriter and vocalist I love your range and cords are so amazing. I love ALL of your 🎶Music.
+Peggy Stoute Morin What's that line from the "Ted" movie, re; Morgan Freeman "I'd like to curl up and go to sleep in a bed made up of your voice " ha ha how I always felt for Patti...lol...
This morning I picked up my breakfast and drove to work. On my way to work i heard this song from new York jazz station. As an immigrant I didn't listen to a lot of groove while growing up. I catched the last lyric " through the test our time" and I searched in you tube!! This song is amazing, and i think she is so underrated !
Great song from a wonderful singer and person. For those interested, David Pack the keyboard player in the video has produced many other singers with equal results. Also Omar Hakim the drummer is one of the best.
OMG, I love me some Patti Austin.
Top class 👍🇬🇧
I can't take it this has to be the best I've ever heard! kudos to the person who wrote this! I'm a Man's Man but I gotta admit I cry every time I hear this
Songs like this keep black families together like the 50,s
This industry did big women so wrong. She was incredibly gifted, but criminally underrated. Phyllis. Vesta. Martha Wash. the list goes on and on.
Yes I agree the music world wants the women to be a size 6 and bleached skin if to dark.
And to think Patti Austin was a backing singer on the Steely Dan albums Aja and Gaucho.
AGREED
We have a lot of hits by big women chaka khan Jill Scott Aretha Franklin etc

When I hear this song, I think of Chicago. Standing there in middle of the city. With a big smile!!

This song fills lots of emotions in me as I know as this decade, music never will be like this. So heart warming and tune nostalgic. Glad YT is here to go back to the 90's music instead of listening on the radio of today's rubbish.
