Not only one of my favorite comedians, also one of the people i grew up with, he was the best narrator and will always be the best
rest in peace George and thank you for being a part of my and so many other people's childhood you will be missed
He was the best narrator(in my opinion for the US) and my favorite aside from Ringo Starr. He just put his own spin on the series and he didn't try to be Ringo or Angelis. He just did it his way and I'm happy I was alive to hear his wonderful narrations. RIP George. Dunno where you are since you didn't believe in Christ but I hope you've found eternal peace.
No Christ, no peace. :(
I agree, and I personally didn’t like Angelis’s narration.
Take me back to 2011
I only knew of George Carlin because of Thomas the tank engine. He’s really the greatest
George carlin was the best american narrator ever.
Knowing George Carlin's standup comedy hearing him discuss Thomas and how much he loved making the show is so heartwarming to me. Because both shows made my childhood.
YAY GEORGE!!!!!! Your the man George! He was THE BEST NARRARATOR!! (In my opinion) R.I.P George.
Him and Ringo Starr are one the best narrators for the show, both are really famous for talents they like to do. Both of them acknowledged how intelligent the show really is because they realized that kids were into Star Wars and He-man at the time. They didn’t try to jam the information down the throat, it was just soothing and intelligent.
Thomas the tank engine and Shining Time station are my favorite children’s shows ever. The best entertainers are those that entertain adults and children like George Carlin and Ringo Starr.
i liked george carlin, he was a great narrarator, he was funny as shit outside of thomas the tank engine. who would've thought that a man this vulgar would narrarate a childrens show. this is cool
He was so awesome.
My favorite narrator of all time
A reverend made this!!!!!! GOD BLESS HIM!!!!!
I gotta say this. If George Carlin were alive today and saw Thomas switch to CGI in 2009, he would have been so pissed off at that and trust me he would not stop ranting about it. I know he would without question he would absolutely hate All Engines Go. I have a feeling if George Carlin were still here he would be doing a stand-up routine where he would just rant about how awful the show got since Mattel took over.
George's passing pretty much saved the show from his wrath when it transitioned into CGI.
These are times when I wish he was still here...
@@juxtaposedlime2734 oh yeah totally agree. If George Carlin was alive today well into his 80s trust me, the folks at Hit Entertainment and Mattel would have gotten the worst of his wrath. If he was doing stand up if he were alive today I wouldn’t be surprised at all to say the least the he most likely would have dedicated an entire show strictly for Thomas fans on his thoughts and complaints about the show starting from 2009 to the present day. He would have been so pissed I think you would have been able to tell he would be on stage to the point it wouldn’t even be funny but the actual truth and us Thomas fans would definitely agree with him. Maybe the show wouldn’t have gone to shit after 2009. Maybe George Carlin would have created an entire campaign for Thomas. Hell he could have even rounded up Ringo Starr and Alec Baldwin in the process seeing as how they have both admitted to having a very special place in their hearts for Thomas. If we were lucky enough, Pierce Brosnan would have been on board as well.
I wonder if Ringo Starr would have been hurt when George said the he was the best conductor of Shining Time Station. I think they were both great.
Same
No, he wouldn’t be hurt. He left to focus on his music career more, he probably would’ve taken it with peace and love.
He voiced Fillmore from cars
George Carlin a legend in both stand up and in this piece of childhood!
Thanks George.
I love how he calls himself the anti Pete Best
So true
Now and days Thomas and Friends makes the lesson blatantly clear.
Now it’s garbage
Sure it’s trying to be educational, but now it’s the opposite of what George Carlin adored
"I am the anti-Pete Best."
Happy Heavenly Birthday George
I've often told people that what amazed me is that people who ran the show got the last person one would expect of narrating a children's television series to narrate a children's television series.
Tears :*)
I'm guessing that was probably the reason why he was up for narrating the show, which was a pretty great idea! :)
"The morals of these stories were never jammed down the kid's throat, they werent blatant. They weren't in capital letters. They always gently massaged into the framework of the show."
Damn right. You don't get that nowadays in kid's shows. Back then a good story came FIRST, Political Correctness got worked in afterward.
Yeah unfortunately that happened to Thomas
Unfortunately, your last sentence got switched around during BWBA. Then Thomas just became a knock-off Paw Patrol.
What's TV Legends? I've never heard of it exactly. Also, George's voice sounds different. Did he smoke throughout his life is that why George passed away??
@Colonboy234 Well I did say "in my opinion" didnt I? Although I think ringo was awesome, I just think George was better.
@TTTEandbigG You're crazy. Ringo Starr is the best narrator.
The Beatles.
