- This trip see us in the mighty Tararuas at an old stomping ground. Its nice to take my son Eden here and show him some old spots. Sorry no deer shot on this trip with the good old Tararua fog making it hard. But we had a great trip anyway. Enjoy.

Used to hunt the ruapai stream in my younger years , ton of deer back then stayed the odd time at the hut

Good vid Kane, the old cramp might be a sign of age mate - only basing that on my age lol...good to have the son out - my regular hunting mate is the son in law - big strong bugger so very handy when the carry is on.

You were on the right side of the range the western side is where the leatherwood is a lot more gnarly,same with western Ruahines

Just came out of the northern tararuas 24 hours ago ..how the fog just.comes outa no where ae . Loads of sign herd 8 odd staggs going hard on friday as it.was cold but sat morn ..avo .. very little noise .

Yeah cant do anything about the weather. The tent is a Nature hike - its not had much use but seems good so far.

Yip I was up I Nicols Hutt when it happened..heard it on the radio..and new straight away it sounded dodgey. Saw Mark after he came out of hospital and he filled me in on the gossip..I was normally up the Wiohine with dogs looking for pigs mainly
