As a kid that occasionally would watch RAW and Smackdown during the 2000s, I will definitely give an unpopular hot take: during the 2000s when Bradshaw became JBL, JBL was actually a really good wrestler during that time period and just like Triple H, Jericho, Kane, etc, the heel role suited him perfectly to a T....
It was a good move when Bradshaw became JBL because at least Smackdown had its' own top heel that can equal Raw's Triple H when it comes to brand dominance. I remember he also formed his own stable named The Cabinet with Orlando Jordan, the Basham Brothers and Jillian Hall.
Surprised you didn’t bring up Big Evil Undertaker, much like HBK was a short heel run but Taker really seemed menacing with the way he hurt other wrestlers at times.
@@Speedyreedy1218 I meant for Triple h, edge and randy orton put together. But triple h happens to be my #1 favorite heel due to the fact that he looks like the final boss. As far as a heel that I hated to the core, it’s jbl and Vince McMahon

Man triple H was so good that I literally thought this man was evil a possessed over that heavyweight championship. The thing she did to stay at the top storyline wise and behind the scenes just made it that much more believable.
"they basically killed Ric Flair" I laughed way too hard 😭 I never think about how bad all these heels are till you list the things they've done. I have always loved heels ever since I started watching WWE and now I'm like "what was wrong with me?" 💀
I wish John Cena would have turned heel, especially during the summer of CM Punk. That would have been the perfect time to do it since Punk was the top babyface
You know why I think most modern heels don’t compare today? I think the big reason is that WWE forces their talent to stick to a strict script instead of giving them bullet points and telling them to improvise
I think kayfabe being gone is also a major factor why it's hard to create a completely heel character nowadays. Imagine WWE trying to create a new heel character with the same level of sadism like Orton back in 2009, but then you would also see the same wrestler on some podcasts or interviews being his real self, as a nice guy... So how can we hate that character when you know that wrestler's a really nice guy outside the ring? As an adult audience, it's hard to suspend disbelief in that cases lol I guess the key to it is to not let their selves be over-exposed in social media, so at least we have no way to know how they are in real life... That way it's easier to suspend disbelief which basically makes pro-wrestling fun.
Modern heels are mild in WWE. An example of a top heel is Rhea Ripley who get's cheered, with internet fans asking "why can't we cheer who we like". Many modern fans don't respect the concept of playing along and boo'ing the heels and many modern wrestlers secretly enjoying being cheered as a heel and seem afraid to get real heat. There are of course some exceptions but you can't beat old school heels - nothing more satisfying than seeing a top heel and top babyface go at it. This can only be achieved if the crowd play along and accept the scripted dynamic and scenario (they often don't).
The heels during the Ruthless Aggression Era were brutal and diabolical. Triple H, Orton, Edge, JBL, McMahon, Lesnar, Angle, Booker T, Guerrero, Henry and Kane. There aren't many heels that are twisted and evil today in wrestling like MJF, Roman Reigns and Don Challis.
@Speedyreedy1218 The way he manipulated his cousins andSami into working with him. He always belittled Jimmy and Jey into doing things that they don't want to.

That promo that JBL gave after getting fired from cnbc is my favorite promo ever. He calls out the media calls out Americans and speaks nothing but facts 😂
WWE needs more "hideous human beings, uncaring, could give a damn about anybody" types heels as good ol JR once described Kane lol. No WWE heel today is really evil or despicable like Triple H, Edge, Randy Orton, JBL, or even "Gangsta Lean" Eddie Guerero was during the 2000s. That's why a guy like MJF is so popular today - he's got that old school vibe.
JBL was the ultimate heel... If news broke he died in 2005 I'm sure not a single soul would e shed a tear. Dude had me ready to cause domestic TERRORlSM to pray on his downfall

09 orton was a certified menace
You can say at that time, it was sum up of many things that lead to him being at his most despicable. From anger issues, injuries to betrayals from groups, you name it. it would seem to make his 2009 self be a catharsis quite
Heel Edge was something else. This man was diabolical.
JBL had the most dramatic flip ive ever seen. Everyone liked to see him drink beer and play poker, and then everyone hated him tremendously
It's just business 🤷♂
Surprised you didn’t bring up Big Evil Undertaker, much like HBK was a short heel run but Taker really seemed menacing with the way he hurt other wrestlers at times.
Lol love this video. It’s like “this happened, then that happened, then John cena’s dad casually gets his ass kicked, moving on” 🤣
Lmao I was just thinking that . That man took a lot of slugs for cena
Once again Big Show is by far and away the most overlooked, most underrated weestler ever.
Vince McMahon and 2000’s KANE are no doubt the most diabolical heels of all time😳😳😳
Triple H is my favorite heel next to Edge & RKO only because they’re badass and cooler
How are they badass and cooler?
@@Speedyreedy1218 I meant for Triple h, edge and randy orton put together. But triple h happens to be my #1 favorite heel due to the fact that he looks like the final boss.
As far as a heel that I hated to the core, it’s jbl and Vince McMahon
@@Themikebolton1 W
The heels in 2000s played it so good it looked real and y'all know they loved it
I’m have way in and this is the “Greatest WrestlingVideo I’ve seen”. Had me cracking up. They was ruthless!!
I wish WWE still booked their heels like this and put effort in their rivalries. If Austin Theory and LA Knight could do this in a feud, Theory could actually be turned around
Cancel culture would cry
dominik mysterio is getting heat like orton, jbl, hhh, edge, y2j, and kurt angle did back in the day which is a good sign of hope but i feel like he could do so much more as a heel like what those guys did back in the day. They need to make him go more overboard as a heel instead of the rey feud and hell be a bigger star. Even with judgement day as a whole.
Theory was actually getting a lot of heat last year when he won MITB, but he's never reached those levels of heel heat since thanks to HHH's booking.
@@malachiharris1103 theory wasn’t getting good heat he was getting that Vince is over pushing another talent kind of heat
@@malachiharris1103 that was turning into go away heat
Man triple H was so good that I literally thought this man was evil a possessed over that heavyweight championship. The thing she did to stay at the top storyline wise and behind the scenes just made it that much more believable.
The Heels Were Part Of The Reason Why Fans Often Boo The Heels!
No duh.
What
no they were the reason cena was booed
1. Edge
2. Randy Orton
3. Cm Punk
Honorary Mention - HHH - 2006
"they basically killed Ric Flair" I laughed way too hard 😭
I never think about how bad all these heels are till you list the things they've done. I have always loved heels ever since I started watching WWE and now I'm like "what was wrong with me?" 💀
I wish John Cena would have turned heel, especially during the summer of CM Punk. That would have been the perfect time to do it since Punk was the top babyface
2006 would’ve been the perfect time for Cena to turn heel to.
Please HUSH just enjoy the show and go yall hyper assessing every show is the MAIN reason why wrestling sucks now
@@yelhsanosnhoj6602 Wrong. WWE sucks because there's no legit competition anymore.
"How do you turn a rapist into a good guy in just 3 months?" Ladies a gentlemen, the WWE for you 😂
You know why I think most modern heels don’t compare today? I think the big reason is that WWE forces their talent to stick to a strict script instead of giving them bullet points and telling them to improvise
It’s because people easily get offended now
I think kayfabe being gone is also a major factor why it's hard to create a completely heel character nowadays. Imagine WWE trying to create a new heel character with the same level of sadism like Orton back in 2009, but then you would also see the same wrestler on some podcasts or interviews being his real self, as a nice guy... So how can we hate that character when you know that wrestler's a really nice guy outside the ring? As an adult audience, it's hard to suspend disbelief in that cases lol
I guess the key to it is to not let their selves be over-exposed in social media, so at least we have no way to know how they are in real life... That way it's easier to suspend disbelief which basically makes pro-wrestling fun.
Heels were downright evil in the 2000s. Randy Orton and Edge were the bane of my existence back in the day. I hated them so much! 🤣 Good times!
2000s are the best lmao rko was a menace,so was edge and jbl
Now Dominic Mysterio 😂😂😂
I hate edge & randy orton to this day… idk how ppl love them😭
Modern heels are mild in WWE.
Because Rhea is cosplaying Chyna a nostalgic act so fans gonna cheer
Facts they were so awesome 😊
2000s heels vs john cena's dad is the 2000s biggest rivalry
The heels during the Ruthless Aggression Era were brutal and diabolical. Triple H, Orton, Edge, JBL, McMahon, Lesnar, Angle, Booker T, Guerrero, Henry and Kane. There aren't many heels that are twisted and evil today in wrestling like MJF, Roman Reigns and Don Challis.
What's evil and twisted about Roman? 💤
@Speedyreedy1218 The way he manipulated his cousins andSami into working with him. He always belittled Jimmy and Jey into doing things that they don't want to.
@@mbeas9612 Sounds like typical family squabble. 😴
Heels today are so soft. They always running from matches.
I would say MJF reminds me of those type of heels back in the day, but at the same time it just seems forced with him to the point its cheesy.
there's only so much he could do in this era, he really tries to be like the old guys
Is MJF still having a feud with CM Punk
@@syahminorizan8064 Nope
@@syahminorizan8064they will reignite soon punk just came back
please do the undertaker’s judgment day 2000 as the American Badass.
Corbin and Dom are the prime examples of natural heels
Or Sonya, Bayley
I couldnt stand Edge when he was with Christian. When he went solo i loved him. Even tho he was a heel. His whole Him and Lita and Rated RKO times are goated
I love that promo w/ booker t
Let's appreciate the JBL character because it would not fly in today's world 😂
I mean Donald trump got away with it
Finally the goat has come back to...... CZcams
I love Attitude Era heels but the Ruthless Aggression heels were different Randy Orton had deadliest finisher, Edge was definition of manipulative, Triple H made you hate him for 5 years in a half while wearing suit, JBL is funny as hell, and Y2J saved his career by turning heel
The beginning of Roman's heel run reminded me of the good ole days
Angles initial dominant heel run is my favorite pro wrestling period. Literally everybody on the roster caught the best belly to belly suplexes ever.
My old elementary school friend got me hooked to wrestling back in fall 2007 and I remember turning the TV off on Friday nights to headaches over Edge and his antics. His ugly creepy face alone made me tense up as a kid. That’s how good of a heel Edge was.
Edge isn't ugly but his character made so many people hate him even more personally
Perc Angel really was a different beast.
You know he got bookers Wife considering we got Jason Jordan 🤣
That Jeff Hardy entrance CM punk pulled off was immaculate.
Why is it I always liked these guys .
The 200s were the best decade in wwe for heels
Yeah and Jbl was a good heel that cost him his work with cnbc
That promo that JBL gave after getting fired from cnbc is my favorite promo ever. He calls out the media calls out Americans and speaks nothing but facts 😂
"the finest crack" indeed 🤣🤣🤣
Jeff Jarrett was the Most Hated Heel in the 2000s. I remember watching that JJ Era in the Mid 2000s
That's why a guy like MJF is so popular today - he's got that old school vibe.
mjf sucks
Triple H was the Roman Reigns of the 2000's.
triple bypass h had charisma roman just boring
1:33 Attempted Murder Is Insane😭😭😭😭🤣🤣🤣🤣
JBL was the ultimate heel... If news broke he died in 2005 I'm sure not a single soul would e shed a tear. Dude had me ready to cause domestic TERRORlSM to pray on his downfall
Lol you were the kind of Americans he was talking about
2:52, no, HHH actually wanted Orton to lay down and surrender the belt and then disappear into obscurity lol. He did NOT want him back in Evolution 😂😂
The fact Batista could become a top babyface after being apart of Evolution isn’t appreciated enough
JBL was something else as a heel, his acts was batshit crazy especially going for the mexican borders, that was insane tv work😂
The diabolical look triple h has in the mirror is the McMahon diabolical look
1. Triple h - The ultimate Heel
2. Vince
3. Taker 1999/2002
4. Kurt Angle
5. Kane 2003-04
6. Austin 2001
Honorable mentions - Edge, JBL, Randy
Heels back then made us feel absolute disdain back then
Triple H(reign of terror)
Edge(Rated R superstar)
JBL(Mf Did a nazi salute in Germany)
Randy Orton( hasn't it been said already n no of times about how much of a menace he was)
CM Punk(dude mocked jeff hardy's addiction and traumatized the Mysterio family first. Poor Aliah and dom.
Top 5 heels of this decade by far.
Honorable mentions of
Ric flair, eddie Guerrero, Shawn Michaels, kane, John Cena.
Kane (burned JR, almost killed Shane McMahon and beat up women)
Chris Jericho (disrespected Brazilian flag and brought up CM Punk's personal background and took a cheap shot at his sister )
It’s so funny because most of the fans you find on tik tok or CZcams never even saw triple h as a heel before the authority😭😭 he was just the toughest baby face to anyone 22 and younger
That Kane and Kurt heel runs were wild bruh. Lmao.
Triple H one of the most versatile stars ever. Best Heel and an amazing Face With DX specifically. My personal favourite version of him
2009 Randy Orton was just on another level.
I remember hating these heels with a passion as a kid growing up in the 2000s. I don't want to be the guy that always brings up the past and compare it to the current but you simply do not see over-the-top heel personas outside of Roman Reigns in this era.
I loved the HHH/Booker squash match because he put that boy in his place…..
The Mount Rushmore is the thumbnail itself, with HHH added or Vince.
With Orton don’t forget he slapped a ref to retain his title via DQ
I am 2:16 in and you get a follow just off that Kobe line ✊🏾 I mean that shit stopped everything! I was like how can this dude just drop that pure u adulterated FACT like that and keep it pushing. Especially since.. I JUST dropped this fact this week 😂
I'm a heel guy for the most part and HHH is one of my absolute all time favorites. He's second to only Macho Man and one above Mr Perfect. Mach in his prime vs HHH in his prime= Dream Match. Both are excellent in the ring bell to bell. Heels that back up their words are the best heels
😂JBL was trump before Trump 💀
Dominik Mysterio is definitely a 2000s style Heel because no one actually cheers for him no matter how great he is as a Heel.
Nah he’s a pg Miz style heel
One of your best videos
best heels ever, i can really admire their work now but back then they were a pain in my ass. loved edge tho him & bald randy were badass to the bone
The 2004 HHH being more selfish than prime kobe on the court reference caught me off guard but gad me dead 😂💯
It was the last era where the roster filled with great talker
