I own one and it is perfect for me, my wife and two kids. My Mazda 6 is the 8th Mazda I have owned in my life and I totally believe Mazda when they said this is the best car of its kind they have ever built. It really is a fantastic car for the money!
since i made test drive in it i can only tell it is perfect. i don't know on what kind of road surface did you test it, but throughout city it was very comfortable ride. sport nav trim, mt with all equipment and 19'' alloys... only thing which i wish for is something like dsg transmission. i truly hope mazda will build something like that in the nearest future (after new year 2016 ;) ) great car!
Mighty Vicious My dad has the pre-facelift version with an auto and I agree with you. Though the auto in the Mazda is good and silky smooth it is no DSG. If you use the paddles on the wheel or the stick to change gears yourself it is slow and dim witted, there is a pretty big delay between you pulling a paddle and the actual gear change.
The equivalent spec S60 (mentioned below) would cost at least £10k more. My 150 ps SportNav arrives this Friday, and I bought it because I believe it's the equal of all its German (+Swedish) rivals, more reliable (check the league tables), and amazing value in comparison.
Hi. Do you still own it? Im about to trade my 2009 C class estate petrol to a 2015 Mazda 6 2.2 d Sport Satnav estate with this new dashboard like the one in the video. I used to have Mazda s but petrol. Saw some bad experiences with this engine mainly pre 2015. Please update me. The one I saw in the UK has 142k miles and one owner and motorway miles.
@@redwhite_040 Hey. Thanks for getting back to me. I bought it meanwhile and I love it:D My only worry is that my mileage has reduced to 10000miles a year and my work journey is 8 miles each way but with not many stops and many stretches of 40 and 50 mph limit which is great. I ve discovered how to manually regen the dpf with a software and a laptop so thats handy and how to watch the engine oil level for the engine dumping fuel in the sump during unsucessful attempts of dpf regen. Apart from that, thr car is brilliant and I think Ill stay with Mazda long term :D
@@japanluv Hi, I am a signature away from buying a 2015 2.2 SkyActiv-D Sport and worried about oil dumping. Can you tell me what software you are using to do a manual regen and how do you monitor the oil level to prevent the engine dumping fuel in the sump? Thanks in advance
@@grvn7540 Hi. One is Forscan and with a laptop ideally and a USB OBD 2 cable good one is like £50 or more. You cs try cheaper too. Other option is Torque Pro app and a Bluetooth OBD2 reader also good one. You also need a special file from Mazdatweaks website. I havent had the time to go into it myself due to work and other commitments but gosh the engine pulls so nice and its very economical if you go gentle on it. I only got the version with 150ps. The oil dipstick check I do now regular checks dont let it go too much over the max level and never above the X sign on it that will need oil change immediatly. I was scared at the beginning but now Im not. Make sure you do motorway mileage too. This engine is not for 5 miles trip a day in town.
Update after 5 and a half years - turned out to be the worst car I've ever had! Broke down every time we took it abroad. Currently being fixed after oil pump chain snapped in Germany. It's like having good looking wh*re for a girlfriend - great s*x but pain dealing with all the STDs
tantivymuckermaffikk It's a travesty that you don't get the same octane gas/ petrol as we do in Europe, it makes a hell of a difference on performance and mpg. You are about 10 RON down on our standard fuel octane ratings. You wouldn't need the diesel if only..
MegaVector2011 EU octane ratings are based on RON only, US octane ratings are based on RON and MON (actually AKI) which is why it looks as though US fuel has a lower octane rating while it's actually the same fuel.
Notice you didn't let us see if there's a spare tire (full), a 'donut', or a can of fix-a-flat. Also, apparently, there's a *huge* delay when you interface your iphone/android. The backup camera *doesn't* _move_ with the steering wheel. I'd trade that annoying HUD for a decent 'trajectory' backup camera any day.
Such a beautiful car and I would really like to buy one. I am however in the market for a diesel, and I see that the 2.2 Skyactive D had quite some issues - especially in the CX5. I'm not sure whether the newer models suffer from the same issues (Rising oil level). Anyone with more insight on this?
Most unreliable (engine wise) car I’ve ever owned. My 2013 2.2 diesel has now gone to the scrapyard with engine failure. Camshaft went and was replaced at a cost of £2500. Within a year either the cylinder head gasket or a cracked cylinder head forced me to get rid. This was a car with a full main dealer service history and had done just over 100,000 miles. Very disappointed.
Please, Please please quote a real world MPG figures in all your future reviews rather than just the impossible manufacturers dream figures! You know thats more interesting to your viewers than just the usual crap most reviewers give us!
***** I got 150bhp sports nav (diesel) last Thurs (5 days ago). I've been driving it like I stole it but I'm still getting 42mpg at the moment. I can easily see 50+mpg as not too big a challenge with my normal driving style.
Stuart Crane From manufacturers figure always take 10-15 miles off that is the real mpg,or you might get little better on fuel if you drive nice and easy without putting your foot down.
are skyactiv engines with direct injection as prone to carbon build up as others? i was looking into getting the mazda6 until i found out it was a gdi.. makes me hesitant. i want a car that wont have to be in the shop every 50k miles to remove the build up... i also know nothing really about cars and wouldnt feel comfortable trying to clean it myself. toyotas dont interest me, honda accord is my other choice however the newer models are also gdi engines.
Michael Thompson Hi Michael, we believe they're guides for planes and helicopters. We shot this section on a country lane next to John Lennon Airport in Liverpool. Thanks for the comment and keep watching :)
Nice car but skyactive an excuse to build the car, actually, in mass production, more cheaply I feel! Not as solid inside and out as many "half decent" motors. Some simple repairs expensive as exclusive parts needed. Petrols rare and therefore difficult to find an attractive deal on one but if you can't, don't bother...or play russian roulette with the diesel if you fancy! Was lucky myself to get away with a sub 2k fix on the diesel engine. Coupled with £400 for wheel bearings (on one wheel) then got rid. If you don't mind paying a bit more for patent parts fine but ffs, as many people have said, avoid Mazda diesels
Very light car, noisy on the road, driving experience is ok but has worst boot of all in its class, terrible and impractical. Gorgeous looking car though
Don't but it the engine is shit it's got a timing belt than the old one with a timing chain and after 30000 miles that belt will snap and you will have to pay £4000 unbelievable piece of shit
Doctor Mashigo the old mk2 diesels are far worse. The timing chain can stretch after 30k mls. Mine went at 80k and cost £1300 belts are much better and cheaper and don't even get me started on the injectors and failed engines. Never touch a mazda diesel engine. Petrols are far better
Why will I buy an audi a4 when I can get mazda 6 cheaper and more reliable . Looks sexy as well.
