That chase down strip by Algier was INCREDIBLE! His legs were PUMPING to catch up
i love the approach he took to the takle to make sure he fumbled else they would have had a turnover and gave Arizona good field position

Talent means little without discipline and leadership. ASU is proof. A bunch of individuals, not a team. And this is supposed to be a good year for them? Wow. They haven’t covered the spread in a game yet. This isn’t your father’s ASU, that watched them play in 2 Rose Bowls in the mid 80’s-90’s. They’ll have another chance to do something against UCLA in 2 weeks. They knew BYU was good, but looked unprepared. What a joke.

Once this BYU team becomes a well oiled machine. They’re gonna be a scary team. Still some rough edges to work out. They pretty much have a bye week now with USF next week. Great opportunity to clean up some stuff. They’ve got a couple tough games ahead Utah st and Boise St after USF.

Strange, I thought coach Edwards would've had a well oiled machine by now in ASU but it just doesn't seem like he can take the next step, they've gotta cut out the turnovers but the qb has potential
Two of the turnovers weren't really ASUs fault. A fumble punched out by Thor himself, and an interception plucked out of the air on a tipped pass.
Likewise, a good number of the penalty yards were directly related to crowd noise. Not saying ASU doesn't have a lot to work on, but I think they're already well on their way to being a complete team.

Remember when all the experts said BYU would go 7-6 at best this year? Remember when even after BYU beat two P5 teams and were coming off a ranked win and then they still picked ASU to win? Lol “experts” are so lazy and clueless. The game day crew all picked BYU to win so kudos to them but that was about it. BYU is for real this year and there’s just no denying it.

Glad to see Jack Jones do well. 5 star recruit, kicked off of USC's team. Took time off from football to bring up his grades in JuCo and then his old high school coach, Antonio Pierce, is able to get back on a D1 squad. That was a great pick in the endzone.
There's been a lot of good competitive games so far
Lavell Edwards Staium is 63,725. It was expanded to that 1982 from the Cougar Stadium 28,000 in 1964. The Original Cougar stadium before that on had a 5,000 capacity.

They didn't want there to be any chance of a turnover (blocked kick, for example) and return for points. Given the score, they didn't need the extra point and took the safer route.

Arizona State seemed to have played better and likely would have won had it not been for so many key turnovers.
And that was a terrible decision by BYU at the end to not play the ball when there was clearly enough time for Arizona State to take the ball down for a win. BYU does this all the time, run "conservative" plays when they shouldn't. I mean really, that was massively stupid. They could have at least "kicked" it if they were so chicken to do anything else. Lord heavens. You don't become a top winning team by doing that. They did it last year too, these sort of plays, running run plays when they shouldn't etc.
If you kick it there’s a small chance ASU blocks it and gets 2 points, we saw that in the Oklahoma-Nebraska game and it hurt Nebraska big time, we had a 10 point lead with just over a minute left, better to not take that chance
1st string kicker wasn't on the field due to back issues - they opted to go safe.
Typical Edwards coached team. Strong first game the next games, no ball control, no discipline, stupid play calls, defense living on the field. A cheap Bowl game at the most!
