I have never seen Britain run such a perfect relay. The Changeover's were artistic!
Jerome.J watch 2004 4x100 olympics, best changeovers ever from Britain
watch 2004 Olympic; the best change over most of those runners special was 200
well the announcer did say "a new british record" so yeah I think this was their best
Best changes ever... everyone could learn form this team!! Even if Bolt finished.... GB would still have won.
2004 was the best ever for Great Britain
I remember sitting with my 90 year old mum, watching this live... She was such a huge british fan... She died in janruary, but watching this nearly killed her before her time... Lovely memories... Thank you x

Comment of the day 😂😂
I think it's odd the british anchor felt the need to run back and sit near bolt, probably trying to get extra camera footage
right right but when he knew he could not catch up he faked an injury bhahahahahaha EPIC!
he wouldnt have caught blake even if he didnt pull up there was too big a gap and the changes were not good for Jamaica, stop belittling the result fool. and he walkedoff the track unaided so there was fuck all the matter with him.
Nope they knew he was just on regular testosterone then

British sports commentators are so crisp, precise, and intense, as such professionals should be .
@Bantze Hotep
So, what is your native tongue ? What do American sports commentators speak ?
@@bernardliu8526 Too many American commentators speak that horrible monotone broadcaster accent.
I like both personally🤷🏻♂️
I hate commentators
It's like that sports nerd that knows everything babbling on next to you, spitting fax no one cares about
it’s crazy to think you can double click to skip 10 seconds and then you have missed a 100m race
Change it to 5🌝
Righttttt😂😂😂 so true
Exactly.
So no one noticed how fast and excellent the third British runner ran. I've never seen a better runner running the bend like that. Anybody who has ran a bend will know that was superb. For me, he won that race. Mitchel also was excellent.
That would be Danny Talbot you're rightly referring to. He was in the form of his life that year (set his current 200m pb of 20.16 in the heats of that same World Champs, placing him in 9th place on the UK all time list over the distance) and was a stalwart of the GB 4x100m team for several years by that point.
The following year though, his career was nearly ended by a serious car crash he was in that would mean he missed the whole of the 2018 season. He's back now, but has raced very sparringly, largely as a result of the whole Covid lockdown prematurely ending the 2020 athletics season.
His third leg run in this race was undoubtedly his finest hour as an athlete, no question about it. It was a thing of beauty.
I'll tell you about the best bend ever that broke relay record ..go watch Blake 2012 relay when he ran 3rd giving it to bolt then come back to thank me
@@worldfro378 without even looking back I'm sure that's the one where he goes by Tyson gay like it was nothing.

And Japan quietly got another medal...

Yeah being behind Great Britain and the USA.....lol
Woa.great japanese

elisha shedrach lmao why u so hateful
Blake did a splendid job in that bend. That's what he did best in the 4x100m relay.
I still love the Jamaican team. I will miss seeing Bolt and Blake together in the tracks. Beautiful memories. Whether it was with Powell, or Carter or Ashmeade with them. They made history.❤❤ Jamaica 🇯🇲.
😀I'm not even Jamaican.
Those changeovers by Britain were immaculate. That’s the difference maker every time in these races…

Mmm
Danny talbot
Yeah Danny Talbot he's known for being great at sprinting around bends
people forget about Nesta Carter and Michael Frater they are such a legend in Jamaican relay team
Steve Mullings?
Shame Bolt and Blake didn't parade round the track with them, Bolt and Blake just walked around together and took all the glory.
16:36 Gemili slashes Su Bing Tian in the head with elbows.
Respect to Su for not stopping, not complaining, and just trying getting the job done with his team.
Respect for su 🙌🙌
@ Cheng Liu I thank you for pointing the way to what was a clear and definite foul on the part of the UK Team. IAAF Competition rule 170 would seem to apply. I'm unclear whether or not intent plays a part in the rule interpretation, but a blow to the head is certainly an impediment in my book. But I concur with your observation of Su Bing Tian's determination. It is most noteworthy.
@@granvillewalkerjr.8394 Even if it was an impediment, no way in HELL would GBRs win be reversed... On home soil, British record, and world champions first time ever? Again, no way in HELL.
@@ranhill62, if you pause a moment or two and take advantage of Cheng Liu's astute observation at time index 16:36, you would realize how inappropriate the words "even if it was an impediment" really are. Unless of course you don't regard a blow to the head while in full sprint an impediment. And since the event in question is over two years old without so much as a published whisper about the outcome, I would suspect the sports world isn't likely to discover how the Brits might respond to such a challenge in the face of such indisputable graphic evidence. But then again, the question of reversal was raised by you.
Ooh really?
Usain is still the greatest athlete of all time.

Usain Bolt give it all...the most greatest of all time.
I remember watching this and just looking at USA and Jamaica... and by the third change, I noticed something strange:
"Wait,😳 What?!... DannyTalbot is in the lead" ... And it wasn't just a small lead and nor was he getting run down either.
Then the anchor... "😳 Mitchell-blake, you've actually got this"
In the end, outside of all the euphoria... The race really wasn't that close at all... It's a clear victory.
Great Britain had probably THE best handoffs I have seen in a World Championship/Olympic final. Full extension on all three handoffs + top speed = new national record.
This American bows down to their accomplishment in front of the home crowd!!!
Get your eyes checked cause they still got lucky twice

Bolt would’ve won still. Sad to go out like that but aye he’s the GOAT
Bolt is the greatest ever, but he was NOT catching either of the leaders here. Jamaica was getting bronze at best.
LOL! You even said it yourself.... 2012!! Bolt was in the prime of his career in 2012, and probably would've caught everyone back then. In 2017, no chance.
he HAS BEEN the GOAT but no-one lasts forever. He would have managed Bronze
Not even close. Bolt wasn't like how he usually ran. Age caught up to him and there was no way that he was catching the US or GB

repsandgrooves he wasn’t past his prime lol, he just turned lazy after achieving everything. Justin gatlin still winning medals at 36, bolt retired at 30 lol
@@IronM1ke1983 Everyone peaks at a different stage in their life. Usain was at his all time best 2008 & 2009. Gatlin is a freak. He could probably continue until he's 40...if he stays injury & drug free. Which I doubt the latter.
@@chopzmasta07 Yes but know one drops off at 30, I do athletics myself and no one tails off that young. Most can run close to their best until 35. Bolt had enough, that is it. He wanted to be a cricketer or footballer
That guy wasn’t passed his prime . Should’ve raced atleast 5 years more
If the world could embody the same feeling Tolbert of GB had when he passed the baton to his teammate Blake the world would be a better place. There were no colors or socio-economic disparities. Tolbert screamed "Go" to his brother and expected his brother to carry the token of teamwork to the finish line. He was excited and hopeful although knowing that the worlds greatest sprinter was next to him. Blake ran with his eyes on the prize not missing a step or flinching at the possibility of losing. Together, they overcame.
So heartbreaking. When I saw Bolt pulled up in his final race like that, I didn't even bother to watch and see who won.
You cry baby
It's Danny Tolbert for me. HE RAN THE ABSOLUTE MESS OUT OF THAT CURVE. My goodness!!!
Bolt was all ready to run, he was under so much pressure watching this made me feel bad, but I still think this guy has got an amazing talent. Besides we all know they are the fastest mens relay team.
This would have been Mitchell Blakes run of his lifetime....simply amazing
Again, it's Gatlin that always screws up the handoff.
He has a bad habit of playing it too safe on the exchange to where he literally like right on his teammate to make sure he gets the baton.
