  • Join me for another vlog of my work life as a big 4 firm consultant in London - this time in the middle of my project. It's a very chatty one where I tell you in detail what I actually do day to day, my tasks, how my project is set up and what it's aimed at doing for the client.
As always, featuring my coffee addiction.

This was definitely quite a busy day, sometimes it’s less intense during quieter times but also often (at least while on a project) I’ve had it similar. Haha I think the glasses are a bit of a placebo effect but in my mind they work so I’m not questioning the science behind it! Thank you for watching as always and hope all is well with you😊

Thanks so much for watching!❤️ I’d say on a calm project day 9-6, on a more intense one if your manager protects you from too much overload it’s 8:30/9-6:30/7. When it’s deliverable week I’ve definitely had later and worked until 9-11pm. Currently on the bench and am very much making use of the flexibility so starting later and logging off by 5. A lot of variability for sure!😅

@@AnastasiaKrokhina They really make you work for your money, at least you have some more leisure time now. Why is it that consultant often start at 9am? Is it not possible to start earlier, or do you always have to work until 6pm no matter how early you start?

I think 9am is just the conventional time to start but some of the people in my previous teams (especially managers/ senior managers) would often start earlier in busier times. That’s mostly to catch up on workload though as opposed to logging off earlier after an early start. But if it’s a quieter day and there genuinely isn’t anything on the to do list the good thing is you can absolutely log off early and use that time for whatever. There’s a lot of flexibility as long as you deliver the work you’re supposed to - sometimes delivering means working longer hours but on the flip side no one will chase you or require you to be online until 5-6pm if there isn’t stuff to do 🙂
