I lost all my respect for Penn State after this scandal. What happened in State College wasn't SMU athletic boosters buying Eric Dickerson, USC pampering Reggie Bush, Auburn paying off Cam Newton to go to the NFL, or Ohio State players trading gold pants and Rose Bowl rings for tattoos. This was a beyond horrible crime against humanity that involved exploiting children and was covered up for YEARS. As an Ohio State fan, it makes me rather wanna see them beat Penn State just as much as Michigan. That's my rant.
The BIG 10 has had a pattern of big scandals like this. We had Penn St. at the beginnings of the decade and ended with Michigan St. it’s just unacceptable
To Colbert Massie no one’s saying that it’s right but that’s what happens. None of us Americans seemed to care about the innocent Japanese who died in the war and at the hands of the Atomic Bomb. In the military one person messes up they smoke the whole platoon not just the one who screwed up. Even in sports I played soccer for the University of Portland and I remember the onetime one of the guys in the team wasn’t completely putting out during one of our runs. Coach Irwin made all of us do the run again. All I’m saying we have to stop acting like it doesn’t happen.
Anything less than the death penalty was not a good enough punishment. Every player should've been given the right to transfer with no penalty because it was not the players who committed these horrible actions and subsequent cover up. Any one who says Joe pa was not responsible for Sandusky really needs to understand the power this man wielded not only in happy valley but the entire state of PA. I lived in Pa from 14-25 with my wife's step father being a Penn state alumni. Joe Paterno was basically seen as a god in that area. So my point being once he was told of this child molester having sex with children on campus and other places, he had the power to stop it instantly and have Sandusky locked up. I forever can not look at that school the same ever. Just a disgusting situation that could've and should've been handled differently. TBH Sandusky should've been put to death as any person who harms a child ahould

The way Steven articulates this and I'm sorry but Skip is completely missing the point. This was 100% about protecting "The Brand" and the legacy of a doddering, elderly coach who had long since overstayed his presence than protecting Innocents that could not protect themselves. Penn State's reputation is forever tarnished and JoePa's legacy is destroyed. And rightfully so.
What a recommended miscarriage of justice. A university going back over 120 years punished for the actions of one man. A football program over 100 years old would be sacrificed by the likes of Stephen A. for spite. Fortunately more adult individuals prevailed and punished the individual, not the institution.
Let me ask any of us!!! If I seen something super inappropriate at work and reported it to my upper management, don't you think I would trust them to do the right thing? Unbelievable, Sandusky was the sick bastard and everyone tries to make a legend and great man take the blame, and get thrown under the bus!!!
The "great man" deserved the blame for not going to the police as he should have when it was obvious that upper management was turning a blind eye to such evil.

Tbh I don’t think thiss iss the last we‘ll hear from all who where involved in thiss situation.

If Paterno had gone to the police , Sandusky would have been stopped . But he kept it in house , football was more important to that scum bag
