Hi Tomo hope ur well, just looking over yet another one of your U tube videos amazing , I have now been with your guitar wisdom for 3 month and already see an improvement in my playing and knowledge more than I have achieved over many years of playing wish I had found you years ago looking forward to what’s to come. Thank you so much , Best wishes Steve🎸
So happy to hear that! Go slow as you can so you will get more foundation so you can improve forever! Thank you so much!
Kept waiting for the Hotel California solo kick in.
Triads are so good! Thank you so much!
Same
haha me too
Me too, it was close🫠
There's never a shortage of what you can learn from advice and wisdom from someone as experienced as yourself. Always a pleasure Tomo
Thank you so much! I will continue ....
@@TomoFujitaMusic Thank you!
I love how you intentionaly play very simple stuff without ego just to show people how it's made.
Simply stuff is good and not easy to master them! Thank you so much! No ego! Not worth it. Guitar makes me so humble!

My new favourite catch phrase- "ok is not ok"! I Love it. Great lesson Tomo.
Thank you so much!
"The problem is you're chasing shapes " ! This right away is so true and such a simple and obvious truth too. Probably more than I'm aware of! That slightly frustrating feeling of "this just doesn't seem musical or freely improvised, it seems boring and predictable " there's no magic, but there must be ways and approaches that can change one's "ear" and playing.
Easy way is always has some catch that... not so good overall! Quick satisfaction! Practicing part, techniques ... not musical. But once you got material down then you can apply into music! Smart people tends to think... If I know these, I can improvise like that? Ear Training is so important!
Did you watch this?
I Wish All My Students Knew THESE Before They Came To Berklee

@@TomoFujitaMusic I certainly will watch. Thank you.
I've been going through a lot of your videos the past several months and it has done wonders for my playing ability. In my 20 years of playing guitar, I've done a lot of learning to run before walking, and it's led me to this awkward spot I'm in now where I've developed a lot of bad habits I'm having to unlearn and rework. Now that I'm starting to get serious about my playing, your videos have done a lot to put me on the right track. Thank you so much for sharing all your invaluable knowledge.
Thank you so much for sharing! Learning guitar is like... having more bad habits naturally unless you are aware those "bad habits" Those bad habits can grow naturally so well just like "Weeds" You are doing a great job "Noticing" and "Changing" I am so happy! You're very welcome!
Tomo, you just make me stop and realise I often overcomplicate my improvisation. It's time for more simplicity and joy in my playing!
Thank you! Slow down & play simple! More guitar can talk!
I can humbly confirm that he hit the nail on my head. After twenty years of having a guitar and thinking I could just do some David Gilmour bends, I am stuck on shapes...STUCK! Sad.
Thank you so much!
one of the most enlightening teachers around. We appreciate your words and especially your sound
Thank you so much!
Your lessons always cut right to the heart of what makes a great guitarist. I appreciate you and your sharing very much. Cheers and thanks!
Thank you so much!
What a great fellow and amazing teacher. I love learning with you and I am getting better little by little understanding more as I go.
Thank you so much!
Tomo is 100% right about using your ears, and not bothering with tabs. I have been playing for 10 years mostly “self taught” and I quit looking up tabs, chord sheets and videos of how to play songs.
No matter what genre of music you want to play focus on the notes, and build the muscle memory. None of Tomos most successful students sound like him at all.
Thank you so much! Good job! Free 3 days trial on my Guitar Wisdom now.
But what about if you want to play truly crazy stuff like Chon?
@@Redtrays woodshed it as hard as they wrote it, and you will be a great copycat. You want to be the next chon or polyphia, work as hard as them to sound as much like yourself as possible.
Thanks for taking the time to make these videos, Tomo. I’ve grown leaps and bounds since having discovered your page. ✌🏻
You're very welcome! So happy to hear that!
Thank you again for all the great advice I have learned so much from you over time.
You're very welcome! Thank you!
Great vid Tomo ! Looking forward to more and thanks for your hard work!
So happy to hear that! Thank you so much!
Sir I recently found your channel while drowning in a sea of backing tracks I use to practice with! All I can say is it was a good day the day I wound up here. Really like your channel and I hope it grows as it should! Very much respect !@@TomoFujitaMusic

Such a very helpful Lesson! Thank You Tomo Sensei!
So happy to hear that. Thank you!
What a great lesson! I heard you play this rhythm on that previous clip and have been playing along and it’s so fun! I’m going to expand with this lesson because aside from bouncing out of the B minor boxes, I pretty much stick to the minor. I think I accent well but loving this lesson. Lots to learn! Thank you!
Thank you so much! good job! You're very welcome!
I’m so glad I found this channel. Everything you say makes sense. I loved the Triads videos too.
So happy to hear that! Thank you so much!
This way... the way you just did and explained it makes perfect sense... Thank you!
Thank you so much!
It takes me a few watches to get through your videos because I grab my guitar and try out what your saying. Thank you for all the wonderful lessons and general good vibes, your videos always brighten my day!

love your theory approach in this lesson.. you really inspired me to study more theory, thank you!
So happy to hear that! Thank you so much!
Triads were my Aha! moment. Once you start seeing these sneaky little triad patterns across the fretboard, it makes so much sense as to you know what should be played over a particular chord. Thanks a ton Tomo for helping me visualize these patterns on the guitar. Love from India!
Yes! Triads are so special! I have many triad lessons at my Guitar Wisdom (subscription video lessons) You're very welcome! Thank you!
That breaking down songs idea is amazing!! Please do that! It would help students like myself so much!
As always, love your videos!!
So happy to hear that! I put a lot of ideas into this video! Thank you!

Thank you Mr Tomo-san for the guitar wisdom!
You're very welcome!
Thank you so much for sharing your invaluable knowledge. I love how you combine technique, theory and wisdom. You are a true blessing ❤️
You're very welcome! Without a proper technique & theory... hard to play well. Easy to learn shapes & understand things by reading it (words) but it's different story when you are applying these ideas. Thank you so much!
You are literally the best teacher I have . And I haven’t even met u
Thank you so much!
I have been away from your teaching for a several months. Accident that ended in whiplash, and no guitar since Jan. Watching this session was like seeing an old friend that I haven't seen for a long time. Thank you old friend/teacher! I am getting back on schedule with things I love, like learning more about the guitar. You make learning guitar fun Mr. MUSIC!

So happy to hear that. I made this as supplemental lesson for my Guitar Wisdom subscribers. Thank you!
Your a great teacher Tomo.
Thank you so much!
It just kept getting better and better :D
Thank you!
As a lead player my biggest challenge has been to switch from "scale exercises" mode to "melodic phrasing" mode. When I spend all my time only running through scale shapes finding my way around the fretboard I loose the the skill of choosing notes selectively and purposefully to flow with the underlying composition. Lately I've been spending more time focusing on finding the harmony notes in the scale to create melodic passages instead.
Thank you for sharing! It's all about the sound not shapes!
Tomo you rock man your a great teacher too
Thank you so much!
Thanks Tomo!
You're very welcome! Thank you!
How To Learn Theory, Ear Training and Jazz
czcams.com/video/ZNBcImeANRc/video.html
I think All Along the Watchtower by Hendrix/Dylan would be a great one to see you work on! I believe there's some very simple theory, but it sits in a very cool harmonic pendulum. And has some similar fills to the SRV two note part. Great path/lesson as always Mr. Fujita, it's amazing to be getting so much knowledge for free from a university level professor!
Thanks for sharing! What a great song! Harmony & intervals! More fun playing guitar!
You can learn more at my Guitar Wisdom. Free 3 days trial now.
I stopped playing 30-plus years ago I recently picked up a guitar, I never actually learned how to play, I always played by ear... Your videos are inspiring me to start over and take my time to learn, AKA, understand the theory behind the music.
Congratulations!! Please enjoy more!! So happy to hear that! Thank you!
major arpeggio played a minor 3rd above a m7 chord is pretty dope.
Yes! One of popular jazz knowledges. Please enjoy it!

I'm a sucker for minor and 7th chords... Great video Tomo !
Great! Thank you!
Lol sometimes it feels like Tomo is looking directly into my soul when he looks at the camera while playing.🤣 Great video! Thanks for your wisdom!
Thank you so much!
Tomo: You always hit on the key elements of playing guitar (and music in general): keep it simple, give space and listen!!!!!
Thank you so much!
Thank you Mr.Fujita.
Sometime I need back to basic. Sometime I forget points. I memories 7 points.
Thank you so much!
Great vibe. Great tips
Thank you!
I tell me students to stop playing scales, and arpeggios, during their improvs. Ironically, it usually means playing a simple phrase with feeling. A lot of that is from you. Thanks Tomo.
Thank you for sharing! You're very welcome!
you're very helpful for me a first time guitarist well half a year

This Should Have Been Your First Guitar Lesson - Chromatic Scale
czcams.com/video/m2hvyzmBgxg/video.html
Pure gold
Thank you!
Oh, and the song idea is fantastic. I spend a lot of time trying to figure out guitar-friendly inversions for chords that are played on piano for popular songs. So many pretty ballads are done on piano and it would be nice to play them good enough on guitar. Plus on jazzier standards, I can never tell what the piano chords are unless it's some kind of blues.
So great to hear that. I have learned HARMONY like pianist. Triads, 7th chord inversions with intervals really opened many doors for me. Yes! I have Jazz Standard section at my Guitar Wisdom. Thank you!
Hello Tomo , thanks our Dear to make of this videos that I just discover, that is really nice and helpful for everyone. Here, on this videos, you did something that just blown my mind , the first 2 minutes, that sort of easy approach which resume in one or two licks onr after the other the way we can have to approach a lead guitar, make colors, or linking ideas together. That s just perfect and gave me a total new direction to write, organise, archive idea/technique on a simple loop rhythmic. My Dear, if you can go in one other video the same way to show how, by theorie, we can approach and resume all this differents laws/ modes in a simple licks, one after one, that would be amazing! God.bless you and thanks for all this work and sharing mate !!
You're very welcome! My pleasure! So happy to hear that! One topic! No mixed up! Very important to talk about only one topic! You're very smart!
