  • We watched Skinamarink and now we need a Skinama-shrink! This nostalgia-fueled nightmare left us reeling as we descend into this horrifying world of headless children, doorless walls and vanishing parents, one upside down children’s toy at a time. 🙃

For some reason the entity, whatever it is, gave me a demonic "Cat in the Hat" vibe. It was like it got rid of the parents and wanted to play games with the kids. But its idea of play was to put things on the ceiling, trick Kevin with the phone, and play hide n seek with their dead parents. When they didn't want to play, there were consequences.

The "look under the bed" scene is one of the most stressful things I have seen on film. The theory I am going with for this movie is the mother invited some sort of entity into the home (likely by mistake) and it latched on to her. The TV being manipulated at the beginning while the dad took Kevin to the doctor is the entity figuring out its powers. I think the mom is missing or dead from the beginning ("Maybe daddy went with mommy" and "I don't want to talk about mommy.") It is using her visage and voice to manipulate the rest of the family. First it takes the dad. Then it does what it does to Kaylee. Then it sets its sight on Kevin. It learns to manipulate time and space and proceeds to torture Kevin over and over (the rewinding of the blood like the cartoon and the 572 days.) I have seen other good theories, but this one is the most sinister and feels right for the tone of the film.

I think what distinguishes Skinamarink from other horror movies, is that it really leans into the taboo of children suffering. Yes we’ve seen children die or suffer in other horror movies, but if it’s something like “It” then the monster is named, seen, and defeated: the children were doomed from the start in Skinamarink. There’s no hope and worse yet they have no idea what’s going on. This movie is not only horrifying, it’s also tragic.

The blood scene at the end... Jesus. I don't know if it was just me or what, but right before the "mommy" subtitle, it sounded like the monster was saying, "ISN'T THIS FUN?" Made the scene that much more terrifying to me.

As a kid I always HATED the sound of a scrambly tv screen. Even before I ever saw poltergeist or the ring. I would have nightmares about being locked in a room with nothing but a scrambly tv. Soooo creepy😮

  • @renaudetsitty822

I swear this movie made me feel like a kid being home alone again or something. There’s just that feeling of dread and absolutely no hope of your family ever returning. So nostalgic but that’s what makes it extra creepy. I didn’t like this movie at first until I rewatched it and omg it got me. I actually love this movie.

This is the most respectful and the most hilarious reaction ive seen for this movie. I had the best time watching it myself and that ending scared the living shit out of me and for my understanding, the demon on the end is not talking to the kids... its talking to us.

Seeing you two react to scenes in this movie makes me wonder how you’d react to a certain scene in Lake Mungo. Fantastic video as always!

I am so glad you guys enjoyed it and appreciated this film. It's getting a lot of hate, and I absolutely loved it. It really got to me and was so immersive. The cinematography is unique and surreal, and the sound design is horrifying. The short film this is based on is on CZcams, as well. It's called "Heck", and it's 28 minutes long. I think you all would enjoy it.

I still haven't figured out the actual "real life" scenario of how the characters GOT to this point (where the movie started). However, my theory is that the entire movie is based on Kevin slipping into a coma from his fall and his life is slowly fading away. The viewer is watching as his mind is essentially dying. The disappearing items in the house are his mind slipping away and not recognizing simple things anymore....including his sister who can no longer communicate with him and eventually disappears. The flashlights are the doctors looking into his eyes and trying to get some sort of a response of him "coming back." The voices can be anything from doctors to family to whomever "on the outside" telling him to come back, but his dying mind is registering those voices as garbled & unrecognizable. You're basically viewing the movie from his mind and the final scene is him just about to pass over into....wherever he's going.

One of the most polarizing movies I’ve ever seen. It’s a masterpiece of horror man. It’s that childhood nightmare horror where you just are in the edge of your seat every 5 seconds. This is absolutely amazing.

that monster was sick torturing kevin by mimicking the prest-o-chango cartoon and killing him over and over again. just in a limbo of torture

The monster’s voice sounds like Frank the rabbit from Donnie Darko 😭 also I would absolutely LOVE to hear y’all’s supernatural experiences!!! Y’all have quickly become my favorite CZcams channel, hands down. Thank you for watching these scary movies so I can watch with and not be as scared! Thank you for your service 🫡🖤

This was one of the hardest movies to get through - it traumatized me. I couldn’t wait for it to be over. I’m really happy I was scared because I heard a lot of people say how boring it was so I was skeptical
