My question is why do lymphatic massage and stockings / reduction kits work to reduce oedema so well? It seems like they would increase hydrostatic pressure at the arterial end driving more fluid into the interstertial tissues at the arterial end? Or does this increased hydrostatic gradient cause an even larger osmotic gradient at the venous end leading to overall greater rates of re absorption?

I think he said in one of the lectures that higher interstitial pressure will pull the lymphatic anchored epithelial cells back, increasing the diameter of the lymph vessel and letting in more fluid

If you the kidneys are down then the lymphatic fluid carrying the dead cells out the body is clogged. So detox the kidneys and the swelling will go away.
