Guinness is a legend but McGregor needs to realize he's arguably an even bigger legend. Obi-Wan is a huge character in the prequels with a ton of screentime, and McGregor's portrayal was excellent start to finish.

@@xxxxxx2044 Alec Guiness didn't seem to like his role as Obi Wan in the long run because it overshadowed his other work or roles which I heard. Ewan McGregor on the other hand seems to really love the role as well as Alec Guiness portrayal of him. For that Ewan is a legend and dare I say, the true Obi-Wan Kenobi

Obi Wan was already my favorite Jedi ever and now he is more than ever
I liked luke when I was younger but Obi-Wan truly grew on me when I first seen The Phantom Menace when I was 8 years old. Ewan became a favorite actor for me then as well.

I think Qui Gon is the perfect jedi because he criticised the path jedi council was taking. Obi wan could not understand that Anakin was more compulsive and you have to give people like him freedom to be theirselves .Few people can stay so focused as Obi wan did.

Hard pass. As much as Hayden and Ewan love Star Wars and playing such beloved characters, it’s pretty easy to see that they HATE the internet and meme culture surrounding the franchise. Just treat them like cool actors who got to play really cool characters- no need to try and force them to keep quoting the same memes over and over again.
I love how he keeps referring to Sir Alic Guinness, the dude was a legendary actor and almost didn't do the roll of Ben, and he actually HATED the roll and all the fans. He did eventually warm up to it though.

Episode I was ok, and episode II I warmed to, episode III is in a league or category of its own, as for episode’s IV - V - VI they’re classic but i over all prefer episode III to all of them.

Alec Guinness deserves all the respect in the world for his portrayal of Obi-Wan but let's be real Ewan is the one who turned Obi-Wan into such an iconic and downright legendary character. I might get flak for this but Ewan's portrayal of Obi-Wan is far better then that of Alec.

I love the fact that Guinness gave Star Wars a chance and really helped to make it something amazing as a result, but McGregor just absolutely took Obi-Wan to the next level in the prequels!
