with resource packs, the resource pack on the active side that is the highest up gets the highest priority, so if the map had a chest texture, your texture pack would not have overridden it because it was lower down.

Imagine being these villagers; buried alive for 5 minutes, or 1/4th of a day, wondering wtf is going on and why their home is filled with dirt. Suddenly, some guy teleports into their home, talking in a conversation with no one, and vaporizes hundreds of cubic meters of dirt in under a minute, or 1/20th of a day. Then he hands stuff off between the four of you, puts some music on, and rips a hole to another dimension in your floor, immediately plunging through.

Funny story: When I was really young, we were at a restaurant near the Small World ride. I hardly ate and fell asleep on the booth. When I woke up, I was in the boat for the ride. I was sooo confused and disoriented. XD
