- Volvo Trucks’ The Iron Knight is the world’s fastest truck - twice over. The record-breaker is custom-built in every respect apart from the D13 engine and the series-manufactured I-Shift Dual Clutch transmission.
The record attempt was carried out on a closed-off test track in northern Sweden.

What a shame whole clip has so many cuts that viewer is not able to see how fast the truck really is nor how quick it accelerates. Really so bad.

with a semi, you definitely need that 2,400 hp.
and even then, 0-60 in 4.6 seconds. but shit thats scary fast for such a big vehicle.

That's far quicker than the tesla semi.
As far as production units goes, tesla semi wins at normal operating speeds. The next on the list is the 750 variant of the volvo fh16, which will do 2-53 mph in about 36 seconds with a 90k lb load. probably about a 40 second 0-60 with a 80K lb load. This is probably slightly slower than a nearly-fully-discharged tesla semi, and certainly far slower than a fully charged tesla semi.

I have never driven a truck in my life and have no idea how. Never driven or owned a volvo car either. I feel a connection to this truck though, what a thing of beauty with beastly innards. I also feel proud of Volvo and gind it inspiring how passionate they are about engineering. Love it!
