- After completing my HGV theory test I relised that theres a lack of guidance on how to get it done, how much it costs and so on. This video will hopefully give you some up to date guidance on how best to go about it.

very good video, nice to hear from someone who has actually used real world thinking in order to pass, well done, now my turn
This was really helpful did my medical today and I learn best this way too, gonna start on those two modules tomorrow as I've got the same discs, thanks very much very encouraging
Richard Griggs well done Richard let us know how you get on
Definitely will chap, cheers
Yes mate that was very useful very helpful I didn't know what DVDs to get or test to do thank you very much
Thank you for clear information 👍
Such a useful video thank you. I’m having trouble getting copies of the DVDs you mention though!
Really helpful video
Great video, sure it will be very helpful for anyone preparing for there HGV. Whilst doing my theory I also done my CPC case studies test at the same time to save going back a 2nd or 3rd time.
Thanks KevTee, there's just such a lack of material to help aspiring drivers out there. I've got my class 2 dates now so i plan to talk about CPC then as that seems to be a massive hurdle too.
@@letsreviewit8925 I'm sure the advice will be greatly received, shared your video on my Facebook page as I'm sure there's a few on there that would benefit. Good luck with your HGV journey 👍
Can’t u click like 3 times when u see a Hazard ?
John Liddle Potentially but you have to be careful or you’ll get penalised for over clicking and could then loose all the available points for that clip
Hi John not really as you are then in danger of being disqualified
Thanks u give me hope
Hi, Could you please link the dvds on amazon please all i can find are books
Very useful, so the theory test is the same if you want to get C or C +E
What other sources can you study from, highway code or is there a specific hgv booklet?
Legend! Amazing video say it how it is thanks so much test is this weekend been a while aince i studied but got 85 on the multiple choices bot so good on the hazard sonething to do with the clicks
Just found you and great help cheers
I find it difficult to bring myself to do the studying. Do you think it would be Possible to learn the theory by Just completing the tests
Hello ,
Thanks for a wonderful video.
Can you please let me know if it audio as well ?. Thanks
If you are referring to the theory test it does also play the questions to you via the headset if you require it
Do you have to wait for the provisional license to come back before taking the theory test
Thanks bro
Thanks
video was usefull thanks
Hi, thanks for the insight. Would you be kind enough to share your dvd's as you don't need them now. Pleeeeeas!
Dan Njomo they’ve been donated to others sorry 😬
Whre can I book cpc test
Three time try to pass the theory hgv test did not pass alway tooke around 82 to 100 question normaly 85 some question there is not in my application never saw them
Very helpful
Thanks for watching, good luck with the test
♥Bro you are a Legend. :) Good Video Perfect Description.
Thank you for the info. So what is CPC test then. I went to book theory and hazard perception test and saw another test called CPC LGV test.
Red Devil once you’ve got your HGV licence you’ll need to do your CPC but you can do it before hand. Lots of training schools will help you with this. Every 3 years you’ll need at least 30 hours of training to maintain this qualification- it’s a ball ache and no one likes it but you have to do it. It trains you to load securely, drive economically etc
@@letsreviewit8925 thank you.
Red Devil : You only need CPC if you plan on driving commercially. If you just want to drive privately for your self, you don’t need CPC. I only focused on the theory and practical, didn’t care about CPC as I don’t want to do it for a living, just wanted the option to drive bigger vehicles.
@@letsreviewit8925 you’ve made this sound easier than it is. You HAVE to pass a cpc test first to gain the card then do 35 hours every 5 years
hi i have just received my provisional license after passing my medical. the training provider who i will be going with to drive class 2 & 1 said if i pay them they will send me a link to study for my theory and hazard. however im in 2 minds i was wondering if the official android app would be any good?? i dont have a dvd player so im hoping the app will do the job. any suggestions?? thanks for the vid.
Paul Pagan hi Paul do you have an Games console? That’s what I used! I didn’t use the app as I personally found staring at my phone for hours a little monotonous but it could work for you.
@@letsreviewit8925 i have an xbox but its the digital version no disc! i will try the app and hope it does the job cheers
Hello mate, after you pass the initial medical, theory etc - what is the next stage, and how would you go about it (cost effective) i.e: Training and Tests?
da da everyone’s different and has different ways of learning. The most cost effective is to find an operator who would take you in driving vans and earn the right to step up to class 2. If you’re looking for a faster route it’s most cost effective to block book your class 2 in 3-5 day intensive sessions with a test at the end. Take your time and research the local schools, try and learn in an auto as it’s one less thing to worry about. Knowing/learning the competency questions before training is also helpful! Best of luck
Thank you very much for the reply, and good luck to you also on your journey
As if you only gave yourself one day to study! I took my theory way too seriously haha, I was studying for 2 hours every day. Just didn’t want the ball ache of going back to re-sit.
Louis Ronan I was fortunate to already work in the transport industry so had some prior knowledge
Great 👍
£125 ??? We were looking into this and we wer quoted £4000 from the LGV training company and the man was pushy and frightened my daughter out of doing it .
Hi Paula £125 for the Theory test! Not the whole Class 2/1 licence which is circa £4000!
A lot of money for someone desperately trying to come off of benefits. ;(
@@paulacannon3452 Some hauliers will subsidise you to do the test in exchange for a 2 year contract etc - worth looking into but agree its expensive and one of the reasons why the transport industry isn't seeing many young drivers.
Just to be aware, practising mock tests all over again until you get good at them is not an effective way to revise in 2025. It is best to go for a professional training company for theory test revision to ensure you pass first time without causing you to lose money and time in terms of passing bro
Got my theory and hazard on the 2nd August 4 hours apart. Piss take but at least it’s all on the same day.
HolteEnder85 it’s a frustrating system they should give you the option to book adjacent slots. Best of luck with the test
Did you pass? I have my MC, HP and my CPC all on the same day tomorrow and and i'm well nervous haha!
dylan wilson I passed everything first time mate. Got my driving test on Friday. You’ll be fine stay calm and take you time with questions. Go through them twice or more if needed. Good luck 👍🏻
what app i can use to study the theory and hazard perception test?
thanks
Andrei Cotorobai i paid for an official dvla one of apple apps store. Think it was 20 pound. Hazard vids, CPC case studies and theory. That’s all I used
