I think so far, the character I like the most (character-wise) is Heartman. Theres just something about his voice and and his geniality that just makes the game relax a little when things begin to get heavy. His somber and serious tone has a calming effect and then his liking and disliking things adds a ton of comic relief. His theories and the way he is always thinking and exploring really adds to it. I genuinely hope that he can find his family and their beaches to move on with them.
The character I like most (acting-wise) is Higgs for the sole reason of that whenever he spoke it always (and I do mean ALWAYS) felt like he was speaking directly to you, the player. when he mentioned the boss fight thing, one last game over... especially when he said "You won the game, but you didn't stop shit" Even his gaze looked like he could see through the camera and see us. Heartman is similar in breaking the fourth wall when he looks at us and gives sam some likes ( I think it happened twice or thrice).
The character I like the most (story-wise) is Cliff. At the start of the game he is seen as a good-guy. He talks to the BB and cares for his braindead wife for what feels like years through the BB's eyes. We see his most intimate sides, getting drunk on him and his wife's anniversary to deal with the pain, tearing up while seeing the baby, Singing BB a last lullaby, even trying to protect the poor "piece of equipment"... his son, his flesh and blood... and he was gonna be damned if he let the government take him away. Mid-way through the story, when we get transported, we start to see him as a bad guy. I mean, how could you not with all the gunfire and the constant attacks on sam, even when it is clear that Sam is not hurting the BB when Cliff and him come face to face. Near the end now I don't know if he is inherently good or bad. He is doing what he is doing to get his son back, but at the same time his anger and hatred might bring an end to the world. Yes my heart hurts for him. I cant wait to see where this story goes.

That was my main problem with the game. You can tell that Kojima wanted the player to care for Amelie, but all throughout the story she just comes across as creepy, cringie and preachy. Any other character was a lot better.

@Arnav Joshi Here's the thing. I'm not really Indian but I was born in India in a hospital. It was a very cold day, the windows were actually frozen, that's how cold it was. My parents didn't really know a lot of words because they were traveling and exploring new parts of the world. They were very young. So when the nurse at some point was talking to them and asking something my mother didn't understand what she wanted. My mom was worried that I am too cold and said "thandi" to ask for an extra blanket. They didn't get the blanket and had to ask that other nurse that came in after. Later when they saw what name they wrote down on my birth certificate they knew what the nurse had been actually asking. but they kept it because they found it good.
...is what I would probably say if I wanted a cool story for that name. it's actually an abbreviation of my southafrican name "Thandanani" lol

This is my first Kojima game, and from just hearing his reputation, I went into this game thinking ALL the dialogue would be the level of "princess Beach" so all other dialogue which is mostly "okay at BEST" had led me into a false sense of security and then Princess Beach appeared and speared me into the cringing afterlife.
Poor Sean, he had to play through that. I had to pause, take my headphones off and take a walk. Just straight NOPED out.

He also panicked and put the act in motion (rather sloppily) right as they noticed Sam enter the beach. It was at that point, I knew something didn't smell right. And then he begged for more power as he was being detained.

Heartman really is my favorite character in this entire game. I love how quirky he is when you meet him and how he doesn't let his condition get to him. Such an upbeat and intelligent character.

He is the most loveable for me haha and I'm pretty sure Sam's comfortable around him than the other characters, maybe because they kind of have a similar background of losing family

I like him and Fragile because they are very caring to Sam and they both quirky in their own way.

Is everyone in this game stupid? Amelie is obviously the mastermind, I suspected her from the start of the game. Then I hear she's the goddess of death from whom Higgs, Cliff, Fragile, and everybody else get their super powers? Duh.
It made no sense that Higgs ever had any control over anything at all, and it's pretty clear to me he actually didn't; Amelie was playing along, and as soon as he filled his purpose his "power over her" just stopped working.

Have we? Who thought that?? Why??? It was clear from the start that Higgs was working for _somebody,_ he just didn't have enough motivation otherwise. For most of the game it doesn't look like Cliff has a connection to Higgs at all. I like this game a lot but it gets annoying when the characters are perpetually three steps behind you.

Idk why he wasn't just using speed skeleton. At this point I had already backtracked and set up all the roads and put ziplines down all over the mountains. This part is supposed to let you enjoy going back through the world one more time. I actually loved riding my ziplines and seeing the scenery one more time with this new weather. Also took the opportunity to ride my carrier down that giant mountain like a snowboard

I also loved how it ended between sam and cliff in this episode. He just doesnt understand it, but I loved it. He spends so long fighting and chasing you. He just sincerely loves his kid, and it got ripped away from him. And after you beat him for the third time, he just kinda gives up. All he wants is his child, its heartbreaking.

I'm just gonna say it. I hate Amelie. She disregarded Fragile as if she didn't helped Sam get to her beach or saved his life at the beginning and there she was like "What took you so long?" and "I'll see you at the beach." Sam, honey. You're looking at the wrong girl at the wrong places.

This whole thing has felt off from the start! Everything from her capture to her mission - what kidnapper allows their captives to make calls whenever they want? If she was so powerful why did Higgs seemingly have such control over her? Sam couldn't go a mile without hitting a BT - how could she go the whole way without at least brushing one?
Amelie being the bad guy was something I suspected from the very beginning.
EDIT: Maybe she needs five new BTs for the final extinction event? The key players here as follows; Bridget, John, Cliff, Higgs, and Sam.

the "actor" is actually a famous director, who got face-scanned (like conan and many others), but another person voices him! Deadman is Guillermo de Torro (also a famous director) but he doesn't voice the character

I realized when the BB gets stressed, its container turns from orange to more of a red color. The container is usually orange, but Higgs's container for his BB is a solid red. I thought that was an interesting detail.

LMFAO the entire episode I was continually watching the game slowly give cheesy and awkward lines, and eventually suddenly looking at Sean, and he had the most relatable reactions ever. Made me crack up every time

Conclusion: the game mechanics isn't bad, its just jack are so centralized on the main storyline that he doesn't care what's going on around him the outcomes of this are both good and bad, good because we can watch the story progressed faster without having to worried about too many side quest. Bad because (as you guys describe it) we have to sit and frequently facepalm ourself seeing jack doing these simplest task and yet still fail
