Tomorrow Is In Your Hands
After the collapse of civilization, Sam Bridges must journey across a ravaged landscape crawling with otherworldly threats to save mankind from the brink of extinction. From legendary game creator Hideo Kojima comes an all-new, genre-defying experience for the PlayStation®4 system.
In the near future, mysterious explosions have rocked the planet, setting off a series of supernatural events known as the Death Stranding. With spectral creatures plaguing the landscape, and the planet on the verge of a mass extinction, it’s up to Sam Bridges to journey across the ravaged wasteland and save mankind from impending annihilation.
Starring Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux, and Lindsay Wagner. - Hry

Sooo we’re not gonna talk about that last scene where Lou is “revived” and exactly 5 BB-BT’s show up. You know..like the five extinction entities
chani mai it could also represent the BB’s they sacrificed to make the knots
Exactly
@Nugget Noodle oh didn’t think about that, you’re right. Maybe it has two meanings
Who knows maybe the extinction entity's are the perants of the sacrificed bb's

Cliff wasn't taking the BB, he was trying to hug Sam and it's brilliant.
Then why was he shooting him along with his soldiers?
He mistook Sam’s BB as his BB and only realized who he was during their last interaction ( not including the memory visit). It’s why he takes a good long look at Sam and asks “Who are you?” He’s piecing it together, and he realizes that Sam is his BB when Sam whistles the following lines of the lullaby after Cliff stops.
The “memories of BB” weren’t actually BB’s memories but the memories of the original BB (Sam). This, by Sam remembering the tune, he proved HE was Cliff’s BB, Sam Bridges son of Lisa Bridges.

they did metal gear solid 4's last cut scene for 1 hour i think
Instead of two hours, he might as well have just said "yes"
The fact that kojima made this more as a way of saying goodbye to his old man makes cliff even more impactful than he already was.
Kojima lost his father aged 13 and felt lonely his whole life ever since, this masterpiece of storytelling is homage to his loss, and it shows. Thank you kojima, for making our emotions swell again.

If you think about it, whenever Sam connected to Lou, it was Lou seeing Sam's memories of when Sam was a BB.
Claire Vergel takes a bit to remember back but thats why deadman said that the bb visions could be anything. It was the first hint that it might not be the actual bb's memories.
One of the earliest cryptic trailers pretty much ruined that "cliff hanger" for me (Its Kojima and Japanese post-supernatural apocalypse with a lot of wierd science) as I saw enough threads to guess, I was confused when final Cliff chapter I thought I was wrong for a moment, until the Cliff hugged Sam.

My wife had to have an emergency c-section with our youngest, and when he was removed he wasn't breathing and his heart wasn't beating. Yeah BB, was just Cliff’s nickname for his baby. He thought he could save his kid and take him with him, and start fresh, and so did his friend. But then the “not so easy” factor played in ,and thus it just failed, ended in tragedy. Such beautifully written game, even with it’s quirks. This game had me heavily emotionally invested, even if I told myself earlier that the cheesy way they wanted me to “get there” was too silly for me.
Fuck context, this is an art piece in form of a game, an experience. This is why they dont give you the option of true defeat, cuz youre supposed to let go, (get good), and just experience the whole thing.
@@Alchemic09 Reading your first sentece made me realise, the wife's last name was Bridges right? So, BB, Bridge Baby, as in "baby of [Lisa] Bridges". I don't know if that's how they meant it in the game but I mean hey works for me lol

Lou or Louise was holding Amelia’s necklace when she repatriated, showing that Amelia helped her return to the living world, and you’ve convinced Amelia from carrying out the Last Stranding.
Now I can't get rid of the image of Amelia picking up Lou, giving her the necklace before yeeting the baby into the sea.

Little late to the party, but I was thinking about how Cliff appeared to be calling Sam "BB". There never seemed to be a proper reason for him to do so. Then I started thinking about Cliff's name, Unger. Generally, Unger is a surname of German origin. With that in mind, the German pronunciation of 'Baby' sounds much closer to "BB" than English's 'baby'. I don't think he was ever calling him BB, just his Baby.
Oh my god oh my god that's a very interesting fact, thank you.

My good sir, if there is a god, I hope they have a good place for your two children.
The entire Mads scene I was crying. I always knew he was a good man and Amelie was evil. I don’t care what anyone sees. She killed a father and his child. Then manipulated that child until his adult years.
Also crying when Norman cried when he realized who he was after the cutscenes.
Not to mention she was a ticking time bomb.
The blue in the rainbow. Bb coming back to life. She may have been evil. But she gave Sam lue back and closed her beach returning the world to normal.
Yes! I honestly this feels like one of those cases when the bad guys aren’t actually bad, the “good” ones are. I never trusted Amelie or Bridget from the moment they appeared, she didn’t need to do anything, she could’ve just stopped: instead she committed unspeakable atrocities, ruined countless lives, groomed and manipulated one of her victims for the sole purpose of using him as a cog in her plan to establish the network and in the end she wasn’t even against humanity’s extinction, she was just neutral. I’m also not a fan of the whole EE thing in general but that’s another story
He is the bb I just realized that when she bought him back that made a human not a bb agin than it grew to be sam its a loop
There was no Amelie... the extinction entity was wearing two different disguises... in a manner of speaking.

amelie is gone = no death stranding = no timefall
And there is blue colour
Also that rainbow had blue in it... Also proof of no more timefall
I am actually happy with that ending, but I wish I could see Sam settle down with Louise.
I think the timefall is no longer a threat at the end, because Sam walked straight out into it with no ill effects, so the world is probably back to normal.

Yeah. There was no particular reason to have a 'french' name
I kept thinking of Italian "ama" is s/he loves. I spent the game thinking her name ment something to do with love especially after that "amerigo" bit
Right? Names had a meaning for a lot of people in this game. "Bridges" "Bridgette" "Cliff", for example. For Amelie's name to mean something seems fitting
Straight up taken from Harry potter with the "Tom Marvolo Riddle" thing, than can be switched up to say I'm lord voldermort :/
It's as lame as having Neo mean One
She said her name was Amerigo and then she said America was a lie. Meaning her name, Amelie, was a lie.
Now know Mads is Norman's father is sad to know that they tried to kill each other several times in the game
I've never cried so long in my life. I cared about all these characters so much, even the baddies. John & Cliffs actors especially were phenomenal, & the lip sync for a Japanese game was the best. There's so much detail & creativity in this world.
These days they often animate the mouths for different languages, at least the main ones like english and language or origin (japanese in this case). The game used motion capture so of course the lip synching was amazing, they were speaking the lines as they acted out the scene after all. So their face was recorded.
I am the Only one that felt sad for die-hardman, he loved Cliff, he tried to save him. But in the end Bridget gave him no choice
Interesting thing was he was probably dying anyway. She was acting like he was not cornered and was somehow going to run away again. Shooting him with bb in his arms was also just stupid. Besides that she put her hands on the gun and made him pull the trigger. It doesn't really seem like it's his fault.
@@Ashfer2 It definitely doesn't seem like it's his fault, seeing as he didn't pull the trigger, but it kinda is.
John was the one who told Cliff to take BB and leave, knowing full-well that it would be incredibly risky. Hence why he feels so much guilt.
@@yeetpea5302 Yeah that's true, but there were really no options. It was the only thing they could try. He definitely would still feel guilty about it whether it was directly his fault or not.
I got the feeling Cliff knew that and forgave John. When he comes out of the Beach he seems pissed at first but lets Die-Hardman go, instead going after Bridgette.
That shit made me fuckin CRY
I mean it was mostly the fact that Cliff just wanted his baby but like John being all helpful and sad and remorseful just fuckin' BROKE me
Small detail I liked about the game: when the characters are on the beach, they're blue, like in ancient egyptian paintings of people moving into the world of the dead (blue is considered the colour of death in egyptian mythology). Egyptian mythology is also where the game takes the terms "ka" and "ha" from.
Interesting
It's funny that you say that because one of the interviews in the game talks about how blue is the colour of death too. They talk about some sort of jelly fish if I remember it right and that when they died the emited the colour blue, they said other things but right now I don't remember but I think they also talk about egypitians too
@@joaoramos8497 It's not funny or a coincidence they just used real life culture in the games lore

Alex Alexiss leave it to Jack to always make us laugh when all we wanna do is cry
After rewatching this I am pretty certain that Amelie revived Lou for Sam, never noticed the first time I watched it that Lou woke up holding the quipu so seeing that this time round leads me to believe that Amelie kept the beach connection open knowing that eventually, Sam's BB would die and to repay Sam she waited till she found Lou on the beach and brought her back to life before severing the Beaches connecting thus the timefall.being no more
Giving BB the quipu back is Amelie severing the connection. If Lou had been revived without it, the Death Stranding would have continued.
The ending scene from this game is longer than most game's entire stories. Crazy.
When Jack learns to double jump on the last episode. Lmao
He would have probably fallen way more if he knew. Probably a good thing.
I mean for 99% of the game it's completely useless.
@@jacksepticeye no it isn't man jumping over rivers, giant rocks, especially with the power skeleton, when you can double jump with like 200 kg on you
Oh yeah jumping over rough terrain, hopping over a patch of snow cmon man its super useful

You know, the dialogue is sometimes weirdly written, or even downright stiff, but these people are acting their heart out and it's amazing to see.
The dialogues were SHIT
Fucking PRINCESS BEACH
My thoughts exactly OP.
yeah, I noticed that too.
Forty The Alien what’s wrong about that line?
Jack: "This is gonna take Me forever!"
Whale boss: "Yeah cause I'm a boss fight?"
I cried so hard at the very end. The scene of Sam so desperately trying to bring his baby back to life, and crying, it just killed me :(
My head canon is Sam not having a clue on how to raise a baby and so he secretly contacts Mama (who also keeps their conversations a secret) to help him figure out how to take care of Lou.
Theo Zubek I think that would be challenging since her baby died and became a BT, therefore she never really had a full experience of taking care of a living baby. She mostly just cradled her baby and “fed” it, but a living baby poops/pees, needs to be bathed, etc.
sam : hello mama
mama : what the.... where do you gone this whole time...where do you
sam : listen mama ..... how i feed this baby. i dont have tits milk.
I actually cried at the end when he knew he was a bb and when he tried saving lou 😭😭
I do like how the trailers are actually just cut-scenes from the game.
I'm not crying, it's just rain in my eyes.
Amelie spelling out in the sky what her chosen name meant gave me huge 'Tom Riddle spelling out with his wand how he created the name "Voldemort"' vibes
as soon as she turned around after mentioning her name, i was like 'oh no dont, dont do the, pl- aw shit she did the thing.'
As soon as she started doing that I was thinking the same thing.
His name is Sam in the same way that Lou’s name is Louise. Think of what Bridget called Amelie: Samantha. They’re both Sam.
Yeah. Amelie was the EE, critical to the cause of the last stranding but so was Sam. It took him connecting everyone to cause it as well. And considering Amelie isn't real, it's safe to say she's apart of him in some manner.
@@micahk.938 a part*
Apart means completely separated.
I don’t think I’ve ever cried this much over a game, when sam is trying so hard to get Lou to wake up, it broke me, and when he calls her Louise it just felt different. It’s truly an amazing game.
Me: oh wow he defeated the whale
Also me: oh there is still 3 hours left
I feel so bad for Clifford, all he wanted was to be reunited with his BB. :(
Well he was when he realized sam was his BB
Blood Bandit yeah but when Sam realized that he was Cliff’s son
And he did 😌
Well he was
His bb was keeping him away from his bb.
The fact we've been delivering pizzas to Higgs all along is insane.

Woaaah that's so awesome thanks for sharing!!
Me sobbing and wiping my tears…
5 seconds later, Jack: “He had no Willy.” “I checked.”
Goddamnit Sean! Breaking the immersion XD
In world war 2 the soldiers that died said “I’ll see you at the beach” because they went into combat on the shore of Germany and since cliff fought in world war 2 it makes so much sense that it’s called the beach
Looking at his uniform when he was in BT form, it would be more likely that he would have served in places like Iraq, Afghanistan, and Kosovo. His uniform and equipment seemed to have been from more modern times. So I'd say that's not why they would say "I'll see you at the beach."
Sean: "this is the end"
Also the game: *reveal 3 more chapter with almost an hour cut scenes, more confusing fact, more confusing story, more flashback in 3hrs long video*
At least it ain't MGSV
@@plague6566 that one literally has no story
Tommie Earl Jenkins actually cried during that scene, as revealed in a mocap marketing video by KJP.
The ending where Sam try to bring Lou back to life made me tears alot. I feel the feeling of a father who wanted to revive his son and afraid of losing him.
So i googled "why is my bike flying " and the first things that shows up is a thread on jacks subreddit talking about what happens when you google "why is my bike flying"😂😂
I'm not crying, that's just a chiral allergy reaction!

i didnt cry 5 different times my chiral allergy is really bad right now

jack: he had no willy. it was covered up. i checked.
I also checked every time except on that one, so Sean did for me. Thanks Jack!

I'd like to see a prequel game where you play as John or Cliff during their military service.
I'd like a sequel where you play as Louise, years later.

Except some random BT will search out Sam to avenge some doctor BT's death at the hands of Sam and then Lou will have to go and have his revenge and in the end Lou will just forgive the random BT who killed Sam.
Yes, I'm making that reference.
:P
@@matosz23 Huh, it's almost like I've seen Jack play that game before :P
@@matosz23 oh boo boo that game was amazing and the story was great. It was realistic the fact that some BLANK came to avenge their BLANK
It’s difficult to kill someone who has a amazing reason for what they did. Both of those BLANKS lost someone. To horrible ways. (Well COWBOYS DEATH WAS MORE HORRIBLE AND PAINFUL) but I guess he got it coming. You guys forget he IS NOT a hero. He is NOT perfect. He’s a man who tries his best for the ones he love without caring one fucking bit for whoever else is there.
I loved the story. Besides she got revenge she literally killed all the random bts... blanks... and literally TORTURED ONE OF THE BTS BLANKS
Just because you PLAY the character DOESNT mean the person ur playing as is the hero.
There is no hero. She tortured that blank. The one who killed the players sam literally starved in pain to cannibals and saved a child.
Those girls are good people on the inside and they try their best. They BOTH forgave each other for what each other did.
@@sad-7477 And I thought the game was average and the story was bad.
They did my boy Cliff so wrong😭😭 I loved him so freaking much. He had some of the most badass cut scenes😂
I have mad respect for these actors, they made this game great even with a very iffy script. The guy who played Die-Hardman was amazing, same with Cliff and Higgs
I know right ? It felt like a god damn movie
Exactly bro, that scene in particular was one of the best acted scenes I've seen in a while.
Lmao I don’t know who wrote the script and why they wrote it like that.
‘Princess Beach’
Anya hideo kojima is a really good director in my opinion but his writing is definitely subpar
@@AnyaKimochi The Princess Beach line is slightly more clever than it appears in that Amelie literally is the Beach, therefore if she's a princess, then she is Princess Beach since Beach is her name.

That part when die Hardman was talking to sam i legitimately forgot it was a video game

Leave it to Kojima to put 2 hours of cutscenes after the "end" of the game.
