Seiko’s "Save The Ocean" program is an important one, helping raise much-needed funds for the conservation of the planet’s oceans. You can check out a couple of the places that benefit from Seiko's work here and here, but today we're looking at the watches that help raise money for these critical programs. This year, it's all about the Seiko SRPE33K and SRPE39K, two very handsome references that pack a serious punch in what they bring to the table.
The Seiko SRPE39K is based on the classic Seiko turtle shape, the same as last year’s Seiko SRPD12K "Save The Ocean" edition, but with a couple of important changes. While the bracelet and movement remain the same, the key difference is in the shimmering blue dial, and the inky black ceramic bezel that elevates this watch into the stratosphere of good-looking watches. Similarly, the Seiko SRPE33K features the same blue gradient dial, with the faint outline of stingrays as though just below the water's surface, and an eye-catching ceramic bezel. Even if you've already got a couple of Seiko watches in your collection, these two new offerings from the Japanese watchmaker are some of the most impressive pieces at the price point we’ve seen in recent years, and are definitely worthy of consideration for lovers of the brand and the ocean.

These dial are quite striking in person. So many great Seiko releases this year! Too many to choose from.
Proud owner of Seiko Samurai Save the Ocean!
Fought the urge to get the first 2 Save the Ocean dial versions for a long time. But after watching this video showcase the dial on the 3rd STO dial, I think I cannot resist the temptation to collect them all. On top of that, I can say my obsession helped indirectly towards efforts in saving the ocean. Though to be honest, I need to research what exact efforts are made by these organizations
now I'm obsessed with the dark manta ray dial. Btw did you learned what efforts they doing?
Got my hands on the King Turtle JDM version, love it!
Bloody gorgeous watches....thinking the turtle!
I still in love with the first save the ocean watch. Including these!❤❤
Stunning for sure... Like having art on your wrist
Beautiful!
I bought the blue turtle, and im very pleased with my purchase,
I bought the manta ray Samurai king and shark turtle king. Awesome dials. Very nice ceramic bezel.
A good alternative for SD Dblue JC which is impossible to get unless you wanna pay the greymonsters. Ordered the turtle!
I want the Samuria SOOOOO BAD just haven't been able to locate one as of yet :(
Samurai's dail looks cleaner but I think I would prefer turtle for day/date and for the 4 O' Clock crown.
Got a SRPE39K1 just the other day! Love it! Nothing is missaligned on mine. The chapter ring has some "play" in it. Not that it's loose - on the contrary. But I can make it missaligned if I want by nudging it against either "stop". But the center between the stops is dead on center on the dial.
maybe you meant bezel? because chapter ring is fixed.
beautiful peaces.
The 4r36a with day/date, of course
I got the turtle version from Macy’s usa made in Japan .
サムライカッコいいです! 私も買っちゃいました。 文字盤が綺麗です。
Banzai !!!!!
What you prefer?
I go for Samurai
Not limited but special editions
Seiko should the King Turtle under Grand Seiko.
Can you get the hands out of the way temporarily if needed?
¿Which's better?
These both look much better on the blue silicone straps
No watches look better on a silicone strap. But a Timex, G-Shock, or Swatch if you want a silicone strap.
@@littlejackalo5326 Agreed the stainless is perfect for this one
@@littlejackalo5326 well since they are divers watches the silicone strap matches it perfectly as a tool industrial use watch that it is designed for
Both are beautiful watches. But if i can only pick one, it would be the turtle. Gotta have a day complication.
Also hour markers are smaller and you can see more of that beautiful dial 🙂
@@89srbija Wore both in real life and prefer the manta on me, sometimes minimalism just looks better but true - subjective.
Is there any difference in quality if the watch was made in china or has the marking "made in Japan"?
Not really, just 'prestige' value
Another great dail from Seiko. Looks even better than snowflake.
AUS are so expensive in buying a watch , this watch is 660SGD
And t's $400 USD.
When I get mine, I hope they’re not misaligned like these ones.
I’ve had so many misaligned Seiko’s now, I think I’d suspect it a fake if it lined up!
Mark Read yeah I’m hearing ya. Most of mine are misaligned too. Still keep buying though.
Glad to know im not the only one that has a misaligned seiko. Do you fix the misalignment or embrace it?
@@Reez070 I just embrace it mate. There’s no real point in worrying about it. Although this is hard for me cos I’m usually OCD about things like this.
The flaws are consumer driven. It's their disconnect from manufacturing. You can not make this watch for $400 and expect it to be perfect. It should be 1.5-2x as much, but people don't want to pay that. So Seiko needs to sell it for $400, and the consumer needs to accept the flaws. $400 to machine all of that steel, machine the movement, assemble it, and QC it, plus leave room for seiko's profit and the distributors profit, is just not possible in the 20th century. They need to make it for $250 for them to make money selling it for $400-450, and you absolutely CANNOT produce this watch for $250 to the level that consumers expect. Same thing happens in the gun world. People expect to pay $300-500 for a handgun, and expect perfection. You can not manufacture a handgun for $400 retail ($250 to manufacture). It's just not possible, and people don't get that because they think that someone presses a green start button on a machine, and it starts popping out watches or guns like a Willy Wonka candy machine. Any flaws are 100% the fault of the consumer.
I do not like Seiko hands.
No...
4r35 are cheapskates
Still a fine movement for most people except the snobs
without date?
Beautiful watches. But the 4r movement is Rubbish. Can't keep proper time. I know, I have it. Misaligned chaptering and bezel. Rubbish.
Okay watch snob how about those movements have been keeping between 5 and 7 seconds per day on mine so what exactly are you expecting out of them?
Lol that is not true and anyway that is adjustable.
@@KB-kw8ni how much Seiko is paying you? hahhaha.......why i said rubbish is because Seiko does not have proper QC. you need to bank on your luck to get a proper seiko.
@@tudorino66 So you buy a watch just so that you get to adjust them ? what sort of rubbish are you talking about ? don't you think you should be expecting a reliable watch ? Seiko is no longer a cheap brand. Their entry level watches are more expensive than Hamilton, Tissot, Mido, etc.
Rubbish, rubbish, rubbish lol............
