It is so sad and unfortunate they didn’t live to see the success of “Sittin On the Dock of the Bay”. Continue to RIP Otis Redding and the Bar-Kays 🙏🏾❤️🙏🏾
LOVE OTIS! I met a man who worked at STAX and met him along with many others. Otis voice was out of this world. The world lost a great man when he passed at such a young age.
A plane crash is a scary way to go 😭
In the top 5 at least...
Especially when you know there's no way out.
RIP Otis Redding one of the best singers in 1967!! Greatest!!❤❤❤😢😢😢
Otis was way ahead of his time he was talented, an old soul, and had an amazing voice. Had he not died young he would’ve reached new heights. It was a sad day when he passed and the world truly lost a great one. He was one of my favorite singers RIP Otis Redding. 🙏🏽✝️❤️
Finally a story on Otis Redding!!! You been on fire lately!!!!
I’m from Macon like him , he a legend here . We have so much love for him here ! Rest in Power Otis
I was born and raised there myself.
“It makes it easier, easier to bear”
Continue to rest in peace Mr. Redding 🕊️🙏🏼
That pic i saw of Mr. Redding still strapped to his seat after being pulled out of the water 😖. Never forgot it.
Me neither
It was very eerie to see that.
Same here. I was reluctant to watch this video out of fear I might see it again.
@@trinaparker1313Now I gotta see 😬🤷🏾♂️
Ditto
Otis's death, along with most of the BarKays, was a major loss to Stax at that point. But they did recover with Isaac Hayes, Johnnie Taylor, the Staple Singers, and the BarKays. Rest In Beats, Otis and the Original Barkays and thank you, James Alexander and Ben Cauley, for keeping his legacy and your group's legacy alive.
The fact that he was set to open for a group called “The Grim Reapers” is crazy🤔….Yes I’m that person who brings this stuff up in the comments 🤭
No cause look at my comment! Let’s talk about it fr 😂😂😂😂
As you should 👍🏾 I ? Everything 💯
Hmmm 🤔 Very Interesting 💯
Typically in this industry..there seems to be always something sinister behind deaths. Possible sacrifice...but don't know for who.
I’m here for this discussion 😂💯
RIP OTIS GONE BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN 🙏🏾🙌🏾
Crazy how many artists passed away before having a chance to do their own thang🤔
I love Otis Redding ALMOST as much as I love Luther, but nobody touch Luther. My mama wasn’t even born when he passed away but it’s always been so sad to me that he didn’t get to fulfill his dreams.
Seeing those pictures and seeing him frozen to that chair just breaks my heart every time.
Rest easy Otis❤
Stevie Winder and Marvin Gaye is better than Luther. Even thou Luther was good
Don't compare they're all legends
@@keontaylor8364 I don’t care what you think and what’s good to you neither of those artist are better than Luther to ME. Go make your own comment and brag about Stevie Wonder and Marvin and all the rest of them. I’m not a fan of Marvin I don’t like predators.
@@rhulesuperior40 I can compare whatever I want to compare don’t try and tell a stranger what they can, and can’t do. Thanks
Who the fuck are you talking too ? Be respectful, all I was doing was engaging in conversation. No need to be rude, learn how to to be respectful
Otis Redding was another solid brother they couldn't control or run over. He was killed because he wouldn't bow down or kiss ass.
(He always remind me of Bernard King)
R.I.P KING
There's only one KING 👑 and that's the Creator of Heaven and Earth.. Stop idolizing 🙄
oh my goodness...black people are kind of goofy when it comes to dealing with reality. You do realize that not everything is a conspiracy right? There have been many non-black people to die in small engine plane crashes...especially during that era.
I saw his documentary and was very impressed with his life. He made smart investments and had a wonderful relationship with his wife and children.
He was killed because he ignored people telling him that the plane was a piece of shit . Has nothing to do with racism at all
@@user-el6ds6il8m exactly
Damn this story about his plane and how he died is similar to Aaliyah
They both were murdered..
And Kobe Bryant😭
@@YAH-1Based on what? Please explain thanks.
@@YAH-1They were sacrificed
@@NathanAHogan I know 👍🏾 spiritual murders..
When I first heard and saw Otis, I really thought he was a 40 yrs old man. I guess he was just a man with a soul beyond his years. RIP Mr. Redding🕊🙏🏾
In the type of work Otis was in late night and traveling will age a person.
You're correct. They will change their age to fit the agenda. All by the numbers. No way was he 26.
Finally the story of Otis Redding he's from my hometown
Rest in peace to Otis Redding
I cannot believe he was 26 years old! Men just looked so mature and sophisticated back then.
I’m glad you’re finally doing his story
That collaboration album King and Queen with Carla Thomas is still dope
Facts 💯💯‼️
Tramp !! Wat you called me!!! But I’m a lover!! Good soul music!!
This man is a legend. he is a southern soul singer from the south. he put Stax Records on the map. because he's always sitting on the docks of the bay. he should have listened to James Brown not to fly on the airplane on that day. fun fact, De La Soul sample a whistle from that song.
Rest in peace James brown 😇😇😇🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I NEVER knew he was this massive!
Otis Redding was gaining Popularity as Memphis’ greatest entertainer exceeding and passing that of Elvis. So, …
You are so awesome with your craft, thank you for bringing these stories and memories of these beautiful people to us... Rip Otis Redding... ❤
My mom and dad played Otis ALL THE TIME. love this channel so much. I can't wait to get off work go home bathe eat and snuggle in bed to watch this video.
My stepdad loved himself some Otis. And as a result so do I! RIP Big O!!!! 🖤🖤🖤
🖤🖤🖤🦍
He was before my time but my parents had all his music God Bless them. My parents had all the Soul music from the '60s. We had Otis Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Sam Cooke, Joe Tex, and Motown Artists, and neighbors would come by to listen to my mom's collection of music
I remember and the early 1990's when I was hustling CD's 💿 from Columbia House and others while using different people's addresses so to never pay up by buying a cd for $15.99 or $19.99 plus shipping & handling 😆 🤣 😂
I saw a Otis Redding Greatest Hits and picked it because of the last name, I listened to it and enjoyed it but didn't know about Oris Redding. In the summer of 1994, a whole bunch of my cd's were stolen when my dad's store was broken into in Miami (Lil Haiti 🇭🇹) so I re-order the Otis Redding Greatest Hits and all of his albums. It took around the late 1990's when E! Channel had the E! True Hollywood Story hosted by AJ Benza which was 30 minutes long with commercials and find out that The Late Great Otis Redding died in a plane crash and the water. They found Otis Redding's body after a couple days later and it showed the bloated deceased body of Otis Redding sad 😔 ...
May The Soul & Spirit of Otis Redding and all those who lost their lives that day continue 🙏 to Rest Peacefully Eternally 🕯 ⚱️ ⚰️ 🪦
You stole. Then they got stolen. I see a lesson here.
@@blackhistoryonsteroids8196 And I did it again 😆 🤣 😂
I owe Columbia House Records hundreds 😆 🤣 😂
Great story on Otis Redding
My favorite of anyone of em. Beautiful, natural voice. Good man.
I grew up listening to Otis Redding when I was a kid when i first seen the pics of his plane crash my soul left my body 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
He will be missed very much
I am a huge fan of Lynyrd Skynyrd by the way. Rest In Peace to all the original members and Otis Redding. 🕊️
John Coltrane also died in 1967 he was trying to start his record label.

Another new series, I love it,keep it coming
My mother's favorite song was Try A Little Tenderness
Great Video bro! Please keep adding video clips for these stories like you did for this one! they make the video more entertaining.
Here is another fact to add to the mystery of Otis plane crash. Research the plane crash of Patsy Cline, the same airplane was flown in the winter. Patsy was cold before take off and told an eyewitness on the ground that she was cold and told the pilot could he turn on the heater, but once again was told no, because the battery was low. This is what an eye witness said Patsy Cline indicated at a fuel stop before take off. There is another Beechcraft plane crash like Otis Plane, with a low battery indicator, and the heater not allowed to be turned on because of it. I can't remember the person involved, but when I do I will post it.
This story always amazed me cause the one who couldn’t swim was the one who survived & hearing that man story of how he survived brought me to tears
John David Washington would play the hell out of an Otis Redding role. They look so similar.
That's the only thing I don't like. They knew the battery was low smh
All before 26? & death by 26...
Was his "family" already millionaires?
Interesting...
Some of his members actually had an album
In my ear pod as I do homework with the little ones lol 😂❤
James Browns son exposing how Otis Reddng really died is probably how they silenced him as well
Where can I find this ?? What did he say ?
I have a dvd on the story of Mr.Otis. What a man he was...R.I.P. Legend.🙏🏾💕👏🏾🕊
**I was told when Mr.Otis performed at the Apollo NY men were passing out! He touched your soul.
I miss Otis lam big fan 1960
You never disappoint, no shade but I always thought as a child Otis Redding looked old
He really did!!! He looked like he was way older than 26 years old!!!
@@theinsightfulvisionary0197 I agree 👍🏾
But nevertheless he was sooo talented and could sang his face off..Great Story
OTIS WAS SUCH A HANDSOME DUDE

That’s a lie about James Brown warning Otis not to fly

The picture of Otis body frozen solid still haunts me.
Sad.
Hello glad I found this channel 🎉
Seriously, 26.WTAF.
You listen to Otis on the radio, you'd swear he's been in the biz for years and years.
You don’t miss ❤️💪🏿
I love these good stories ❤ please keep them coming ✌🏾💯 but oh i forgot i neve get any notification 😏
Can you go live one day I wanna see what you look like like your voice 😃❤️
It is alleged that Otis Redding wanted ownership of his music and was bout to open his own record label and i to the industry wanted piece and he wasn't willing to do that. The industry is dark AF and if you don't give them what they want or if they figure you're gonna be big they take out artists.
Yea this is so wild this one got me in a choke hold
His last year was the best year of his life and he was on his way to getting better. He was as smart and successful as Dave Clark and imagine what could have happened had he not died. Such a sad loss.
Keep them coming tho bro 🔥🔥🔥🔥
It wasn't luck it was a blessing🙏
Amen!!!
Can you do Ricky Harris bro from everybody hates Chris and Stephen twitch boss from stomp the yard homecoming 2 rip 😭😭😭😭
Calling it “plane & simple” is crazzzzzzy! But creative ☝🏾😂 & we all know James brown sold that plane to get him out the way because he was his competition! They use to do it all the time & still do. Hence teddy p …. Nonetheless so many ppl have their hands in these “accidents”
💯
Good job....
In bad weather ☁️ never fly period
Strangely enough, but there was a glassed in exibit of a few pieces of Otis Redding's crashed plane when I worked at the Hatd Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Always had to stop and stare at it. It gave of ominous vibes. Seriously. Weird.
Anybody knows the name of that James Brown book? Great episode, keep up the good work 💪🏿
