Ok, in defense of the people who legitimately thought he ended it all.
-Self Admitted Alcoholic
-Implies video will be his last
-Friends can't get a hold of him
-Constantly surrounds himself with pretty dark suicide imagery
With all this together, the people who called emergency services probably faced two scenarios.
1. If they called, and this was a bit, then they will get humiliated for the rest of their life for being stupid and diverting ES resources.
2. They don't call, and someone hurts themselves then they will be called out for neglect and live with a guilty conscience forever.
The fact that this was a bit does not feel like it's totally obvious. The doxxing is not cool, but the emergency services calls feel like a justified measure for people who are seeing red flags.
I agree with this sentiment, however the people who know his address should call anonymously and keep the information to themselves, somebodies always gonna know these things, does not mean everybody should.
@@PapaHepatitis7170 I agree. I already said I disagreed with the doxxing. It’s not cool and shouldn’t be used as a legitimate form of investigation. The only thing I’m saying or defending is the sentiment behind why some called ES. Not even in relation to finding his address. I’m just responding to the strange feeling I have that people will ridicule others for taking this situation seriously. That’s all I’m saying. I’m just legitimizing the Red Flag recognition, not the solutions that those who saw them came to. And I didn’t think all people who tried to reach out to legitimate ES used doxxing to find his address or publicly announced it. Some for sure, others perhaps not so. 👍
We already had that CoD cosplayer, Etika, and a few others “kick their chair” and so I don’t think it’s inappropriate for people to come to this conclusion.
I mean, another thing is that people probably don't wanna risk it with the whole Ronnie McNutt video. People thought that was a joke at first, until he actually did it.

The entire point of my post was to defend the Red Flag recognition. We’ve had so many people associated with this platform --- themselves already and I wanted to justify the sentiment that was around the concern. Not all the conclusions the concerned came to (like the doxxing). I also didn’t want to assume that EVERY person who tried getting in contact with Emergency Services had doxxed his address nor that they made it public. I just want to make that clear. I had the feeling that there were people out there ridiculing others who took this seriously, and I wanted to defend the concern. I mean, if you saw anyone else down the street drinking late at night near a guillotine with a history of cynicism and the creation of depressing material that involves s-ide imagery like nooses and stuff, and he posted on Facebook some ominous crap like “last post”… I would hope you would call ES on that too. The alternative is to say, “no, he’s probably fine” and then you later you start to see reds and blues flashing past your windows.

I love Rusty Cage despite him being very edgy as hell more edgier than I can even put into a category but maybe like just on raw edge of the way old youtube use to be it just reminds me now.
I think part of his appeal is that the edge is so unabashedly earnest in the content he makes while being able to cut the edge off at times when needed. I think what helps is that he is quite adept at making music and there is usually some kind of artistry behind a lot of his edgniness.

He's a smart guy and his songs are just amazing. I don't know how much of what he's showing is an actual character or him in reality, because dude could have a lot of success if he gave up on obnoxious levels of edge. Yea I get it, we all know society is a piece of shit but there's nothing you can do; it's either that or go out and live in the woods (which you probably can't anyway because someone owns those woods).
Might as well just accept that the rules of the jungle are just slightly less unforgiving, but still the same, you still have to struggle to survive just in different ways.

To be fair, he's great friends with Mumkey- I mean Simian Jimmy. He also had a video where he laughed about the fact that his songs were some of the last videos a sh--ter looked up in between some adult videos.

Rusty is getting way too good at film making. Just the guillotine series alone is one of the best series ever uploaded to CZcams
Honestly given that I've seen some historical suicide stuff it genuinely scared me when he did this last video because it felt like he was almost trying to get around some sort of detection system where someone would know he was using it on himself.
And I can imagine if someone actually were to do this and had somewhat of a sane mind they MIGHT try to have courtesy and turn the camera away.
But honestly my heart dropped at the realization that it could have been a 50/50 scenario. You hope that it was just the watermelon like he said, but at the same time with the ambiguity of it plus seeing how depressed he looked (and has been) while also not answering phone calls, I honestly was convinced. Im glad he didnt do it but I do kind of think faking a suicide is fucked up especially to your friends and potential family watching.
EDIT: also yeah clearly I am unfamiliar with this guy, but I do wish him well
Dawg it really reminded me of Ronnie McNutt, especially how tired he looked and just the general vibe. Even before I knew what he did, when Pyro showed the clip of him with the Guillotine in the back it scared me. I thought it was gonna be like that.

@@tofu6284 Exactly my feelings too. I didnt remember his name but I would have brought it up as an example. His demeanor was so nonchalant and he did it almost without hesitation live, all while hearing his phone vibrating as well from people trying to call him. Just fucking horrible. That event just resembled this one too much, minus the actual graphic imagery.
But again, I thought MAYBE he turned it away just out of courtesy. The way this whole thing played out like "yeah guys its just the watermelon" just felt very tongue in cheek like "if you know, you know what Im actually planning". Im glad hes ok but again, I dont envy his friends for seeing this without knowing if he was actually alive or not, while on top of that not answering his phone. Not cool to ever put someone under that level of distress.

I think Rusty is just quitting a lot of youtubers are tired recently so i think Likely Rusty is retireing and with how differently he is this is his way of saying "Hey! Im retiring"
I love Rusty Cage because dispite his content eternally being hit by youtube for promoting self harm, honestly I've never seen a person who makes stuff on the inside of that mindset, rather than from an outside perspective. His stuff speaks to me in a way that says "I get it" not "Get help" or "You shouldn't think that"...his stuffs encouraging in a way that someone without those problems couldn't speak to others about it.

As somebody who has had a friend pretend to kill themselves, it feels HORRIBLE. The actual most distressed I've ever felt in my life. I can fully understand the people that called emergency services, especially when there are what they percieved as signs, like him saying it's his last video.

Maybe i haven't watched enough of his content, i did watch the whole guillotine series, but i was also genuinely worried that he might have actually offed himself. I get that this type of "comedy" isn't uncommon in his channel, but i also feel like if he were to actually go through with it, the whole guillotine stream method would be very much on brand with him.
That being said, i did very much enjoyed the guillotine series and his music, so i do hope we get to see his next project soon.
