Welcome to the United States, where they allow doctors and hospitals to hold you hostage for money. You either potentially ruin your life, or deal with being sick, pay out the ass for insurance, or get lucky and have a job that offers it.

@@Alec30 For a lot of people, it's not choosing between health and money. It's choosing between an appointment you may or may not really need, and paying rent.
