- Pokémon Apex is a refreshingly adult take on the Pokémon universe, grounded in reality and full of real world problems, in which you play a young boy who finds himself able to travel to a strange world full of powerful demons called Pokémon.
A well crafted fan game created by Nathan Gunzenhauser, Pokémon Apex is an adult take on the classic catch ’em all gameplay of Pokémon. That’s not ‘adult’ as in violence and nudity (although there is some swearing), it’s adult in the sense the story themes that it addresses, with you playing a high schooler who’s mother and father have separated, and who escapes the drudgery of day to day life by playing video games with his best friend.
Throughout the game you discover that you can cross between worlds to the strange demon (or Pokémon) infested world and discover there is a dark cult hell bent on destroying both worlds. It’s up to you to step up, catch some Pokémon and take on the dark cult before they do too much harm. It’s a fun adventure, and a great twist on the traditional Pokémon gameplay.

NLSS Highlights do a 5 minute video of the nlss members saying that.
To be fair you have to be very grounded to reality in order to understand Pokémon Apex. The demons (Pokémon) are extremely subtle and without a solid grasp on adult themes (no nudity but it has swearing), its real world problems will go over a typical viewers head. There is also Nathan Guzenberry's dark outlook which is boxboxboxboxboxboxboxbox boxbox & ...
Top shelf memage right there
spicer?
Since this says part one, I feel like someone needs to keep track of this.

This is the first time I've heard of this stream and the first 3:20 made me feel like I was having a stroke.
This video really helped me today I used to be a real estate agent but I got fired recently because I accidentally gave away a free house, now I have real world problems because I granted realty
nuclearpie1010 psst it's free real estate 😉
The fucking airplane one gets me every time
A cult classic.
HE'S
DONE IT!
LETS.
*GOOOOOOOOO*
Some may argue that jelly stream is ultimate Nek but this is pretty damn good too
This channel is great. I didn't know this moment existed in NLSS crew history, and this type of beautifully absurd meme gaining insane traction and attention is exactly what I've needed. I've been going through some tough times recently; my dog just passed away after 12 years with my family, and I've had a couple of other troubles that I wouldn't like to talk about here. This has been accentuated by at least 3 hours homework each night and a part-time job to keep myself afloat. I'm glad that this channel could guide me to such a wonderfully hilarious segment. Now, I feel grounded in reality, and even though I'm still swamped with real-world problems, I truly think Pokemon Apex is a refreshingly adult take on the Pokemon universe.
I come back to this every few months, especially when I'm feeling down, and it never fails to make me laugh...
... especially when I'm full of real world problems.
Ah yes
A timeless classic
austin made this s tier
This reminds me of that one Eminem song that goes "Oop there goes gravity, grounded in reality"
Radditz770 It's mom's spaghetti by Eminem
@@darkmetalshooter388 the song's actually called lose yourself
@@lagspike7763 actually it's mom's spaghetti

I have a question: is Pokémon Apex is a refreshingly adult take on the Pokémon universe, grounded in reality and full of real world problems, in which you play a young boy who finds himself able to travel to a strange world full of powerful demons called Pokémon.

Yanno, the fucking boxes always makes me laugh. Also I hope Nek does more "planned" jokes like this, makes everyone happy and gets Nek some great water money
that has to be the funniest thing ive ever seen from the NLSS crew
In times like these, when I'm feeling especially grounded in reality and the real world problems feel like too much, I come back to this video, in which I play a young boy who finds himself able to travel to a strange world full of powerful demons called Pokémon.

Would've loved to have seen this live but the day it was streamed my area had a big power outage due to a lightning storm. My wife and I live in a very old home, moved in 47 years ago, so the electrics aren't grounded like modern buildings, that's just the reality of it I suppose, if you don't keep up you get left behind.
I doubt I would've been able to figure out how to donate anyway, I'm just a grandad in Kansas City and full of new tech problems.
Each time I see this it only gets better
This is 25 minutes of goodness
You know why 2.6k have watched this? Because your subscribers love everything you edit and produce. Keep it up!
I remember watching this stream live and laughing until I cried. My parents were sleeping in the other room and I was absolutely dying trying not to wake them up. Goooooood times. I miss nick 🥲
I remember watching this stream so long ago, I was lmao the entire time
This is the greatest thing I've ever seen.
"I linked it to you in Skype" .... I feel so old.
This is too good.
Wow a Ridley reference in 2017, he's a god.
Josh makes this so good
in der Realität begründet und voller Probleme der realen Welt
Zementiert in der Wirklichkeit und voll mit Echtwelt-Problemen.
when that comment came that was "grounded in reality and real-world problems" literal almost trou off my headset
tbh this should be the whole stream
Legit had me laughing out loud.
Funny to think how not too long ago we were dealing with so many real world problems, all while being grounded in reality. Surely, this was a refreshingly adult take on our lives. Not "adult" as in violence or nudity (though there was some swearing), but adult as in the sense the story themes that it addresses.
pls neverstop making videos
I spit coffee all over my laptop
GROUNDED IN REALITY AND FULL OF DEMONS
Why did I only just now see this
Rururureal world problems
Grounded in Reality
It looks like nick... NEEDS TO MORE GROUND IN REALITY.

NEK
*I'M NATHAN GUZENHAUSER*
Yo, his palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy
There's vomit on his sweater already: Mom's spaghetti
He's nervous, but on the surface he looks calm and ready
To drop bombs, but he keeps on forgetting
What he wrote down, the whole crowd goes so loud
He opens his mouth, but the words won't come out
He's choking, how? Everybody's joking now
The clock's run out, time's up, over-blaow!
Grounded in reality, oh, there goes real world problems
Rururururu?
Can someone explain the joke? was it a really bad game or what?
Amperanded in box and full of box box box box world problems &&&&&&&&&&
This is going to be a copypasta now isn't it?
Big Smoke The best kind.

Get this on know your meme

We must not expose the outside world to this subculture of memes. They must be preserved in the NLSS Meme Database, away from outsiders.

How much money did he make in this meme?
So far, $459.21. A nice commenter is counting. (If you see this, thank you!)
so, what is pokemon apex?
I'll probably get to the actual gameplay of Pokemon Apex in the next part. The rest of the stream is just Nick finishing the weird camera game and then playing through all of Pokemon Apex.
Oh, i thought it was a refreshingly adult take on the Pokémon universe, grounded in reality and full of real world problems, in which you play a young boy wh- ok i'm sorry.
But thanks for this, your videos are incredible.

So the joke here is the broken English? Is that what's so funny or am I missing something?
It's mostly just the really strange wording of it.
I see. I just wish I found it as funny as you did.
Not my kind of humor
