  • DESCRIPTION
    [Part 2 of 2]
In June 1983, Cindy Paulson ran out onto a highway in Anchorage, barefoot and handcuffed. She was the prized prey of a prolific serial killer who was plaguing the region and had escaped his plans to hunt her down in the Alaskan wilderness - something he had done with many other women...

Thank you. This is the most in depth version of this case I have ever heard. I can't believe his wife didn't know/realise there was something seriously wrong with this monster.

The judge referring to Hanson as gentleman during sentencing. I guess words don't mean anything anymore.

You do a great job, very thorough, with much empathy for the victims and their families. Cheers from New Zealand 🇳🇿

Incredible that he was able to commit so many horrific crimes with seeming impunity. I sincerely hope that the same prejudices (which allowed this man to continue killing for so long) no longer exist within law enforcement today. You do an excellent job. Commendations.

I am wondering if they ever looked in Iowa for crimes there before Hanson moved to Alaska. His crimes started so shortly after his arrival, it seems possible he has started on this path earlier.
I was familiar with this case from the movie The Frozen Ground, and am grateful for the more detailed account, here. Thanks!

May all his victims and their families and friends find peace. Such a sad posting - but presented with compassion and an eye for detail. The perpetrator deserves nothing.

OMG! I actually stayed at the Mush Inn in Anchorage. Third and Concrete. In June 1994, peak tourist season in Alaska. Only room we could find on short notice. What a trip!

He became a material success and a married man with children in adult life, yet still harboured this misogynistic rage from childhood that turned him murderous… feel sorry for him I do not. In the slightest.

So disgusting that police would rather believe Hanson, than Cindy, accusing her of lying. Misogynists dealing with a misogynist. What could possibly go wrong?
