i am 37 years old and i can honestly say this is the best Scotland team in my lifetime. I cannot wait to follow this team to Germany next year
I’m 48 and maybe the Goram, McCoist, Johnston team from 1990 (that had Brazil at 0-0 in the World Cup til Brazil scored at the end) is on par but this team might be even better.

Even the cricket team could've (and should've) qualified for the world cup, until Richard Berrington took a shoddy decision of bringing Mark Watt instead of Christian Sole to bowl that over. What a shame.

If Man United needs to be succeeded then put McTominay in the right wing! Looks how effortlessly he is playing in the front role. He is not a holding mid-fielder. He is a natural attacking player
He’s not playing on the right wing mate. He’s playing the inside channel it’s Hickey that gives the width.
He’s not playing right wing. He’s playing in the system which primarily has him playing centrally. The way Scotland lineup is not how they play, they shift in and out of 3 main set ups.

In Scott, he is playing a more advanced role, not a holding mid-fielder. In the United academy he played as a striker so if any club gives him a more advanced role then for sure he is gonna bag some goals. He is a natural striker!

for those who didn't keep up, Scotland team have win all 5 of their qualifying games so far, which included defeating Spain team in Glasgow and Norway team in Oslo

The way the players find each other instinctively and follow up knowing what their teammate will do is impressive. They play really well together. The team with the best 11 individuals don’t always win. Not all of Scotland’s players are world beaters but they play for each other and have a great understanding.

Dennis Law, Kenny Dalglish, Danny McGrain, Billy Bremner, Davy Hay, Peter McCormack, Sandy Jardine, Peter Lorimer, Martin Buchan, Willie Donachie, Gordon McQueen, Joe Jordan etc.
Wow! Scotland had won 5 games out of 5 and top of this group!!! I haven't seen such a strong Scottish side since e 80s when they have players like Kenny Dalglish, Souness, John Wark, Jordan etc etc..as an England fan l still feel happy for them! Definitely they will qualify to play in e Finals in German next year!!!

This team has so much going for it on many different levels. Steve Clark is up there with the best of them. Well done to Scotland, best Scottish team in many years, 5 wins out of 5. Cyprus need to sort out the national team as it was too easy a win for the visitors. The problem is these days, the Cypriot league has far too many foreign players, probably 70% of the players in the Cypriot clubs are foreign which has affected the national team in a negative way. It's ok to have some foreign players, but there needs to be more home grown talent. Cypriot fans are more into their club football than national football, hence the low attendance at this game, which is a shame. Cyprus had a good national team in the late 90s to mid 2000s with good results for a small nation. Notable results, beating Spain 3-2, Rep of Ireland 5-2, Wales 3-1 and a 1-1 draw with Germany. Cyprus was a much stronger side than the likes of Malta or Luxembourg, however recently, Malta and Luxembourg have improved while Cyprus has got worse. The Cypriot FA need to do more with regards the national team, because it's embarrasing at the moment.
I've lived here (Voroklini) for 6 years. Love the place, I will never leave. Cyprus had a couple real good chances at 1-0, could have been a different game. Felt unusual to celebrate Scotland goals last night. Good luck.

McTominay absolute quality!! Not only the goal, but you can really tell he has a great striker's/forward's IQ.
Makes the run into the box in the buildup before the cross, sees his teammate move to the near post, gets behind the defender at the far post, where the end point of the ball will likely be.

If Antony is droped from united then playing scott in that position can be a plus for Ten Hags slow packed midfield. He looks good offensively and can stil step in to the middle and suport the defender on the same right flank

I remember him being deployed in an advanced position, no8 I think, and he was spectacular for united. He was a major threat on the edge of the box cause he also had the finishing to top it off.
Then United did what United does best, they moved him to a position that doesnt suit him then blamed him for it.
