First goal was a quality finish. Deflection didn't matter imo Mcginn was always going to be on the end of that ball in.

@@Callumet United have 3 midfielders that are better in the attacking half of the midfield (Fred, Mctominay, Eriksen), and have one CDM (Casemiro), and Casemiro keeps getting red cards so you can see how desperate United is for a backup cdm which in turn would leave dangerous options off the bench. Long-story short how tf did United play without a true CDM for all these years. Crazy

He hides cuz he’s scared of being exposed, he hasn’t got the passing range to impact games, he’s physical and stupid, his tackles are late. He’s a very good finisher

To mention him in the same breathe as Rooney is a big insult to Rooney - but maybe McTominay is being played out of position at United - maybe he would be better moving on and playing either attacking midfield or in the number 10 role - he's absolute garbage as a cdm.

Interestingly enough, Scotland actually have the highest attendance, per capita, of football matches globally, as in more people go to football matches each weekend as a percentage of population than anywhere else.
Mctominay plays the wrong position at mu. He's a half decent attacker.

Half decent? Did you see the goals? I've seen him do it against Leeds under Ole. People forget too quickly. McTominay should play in or around the opponent's box.

I listened to the BBC commentary and similar observations were made about the ref. The sending-off seemed unnecessary; the game was as good as over and it was a minor infraction.

English chap here. Think the key match is Norway away, get a point there and a win at home and the Scots can start planning their hols. Basis of a good team there, maybe a couple of jigsaw puzzle pieces short of being a very good team, a battering ram of a centre forward in the mould of a Joe Jordan or Duncan Ferguson maybe?? Anyway, i wish Che was a bit more consistent, he certainly was great for my team.

When I was on holiday in Cyprus a few of us mostly retired holiday makers took them on, my wife played up front and I was rush goalie, we drew 1-1, so Scotland did well to beat them.

I wish Mctominay was more consistent, he can have games like these and then disappear for a month. I'm still hoping he can someday be consistent and challenge for a starting spot at United, or at the very least be a super sub and important rotation player.
That's cause a lot of games he gets forced to play too deep, he's far better in an attacking role than a defensive one.

But for some reason coaches always play McFred as a defensive midfield pair and both of them play better going forward
@@MrSquigeon that some reason was the absence of a proper fit defensive midfielders for years, and other midfielders were not workhorses who would occasionally sacrifice their attacking game and play those roles. Both of them are are decent no8 substitutes, great professional attitude, almost always available, high workrate squad players, it's not their fault that the owners and Woodward never backed managers and gave them a top quality CDM to start.
He's had a few legit brilliant finishes this season, kinda feel he should've been a striker cause the way coaches use him as cdm just does not work
As a youngster his position was a striker. Wish they would shove him up front for a half, just to see how he gets on. Still Adams and dykes do a job for us. Glad they chose to play for us.
