For me I can kick really far in training and when.i just mess around but when.i am in a match and I see the big space I just can't kick
Yeah pressure is always tough, so just try to focus only on where you are aiming, and that should help it feel smaller
Same
same here
Thats what happened to me today đ€Šđœââïž
Had it today
As a middle schooler, I wanted to get serious about gking, and I just knew that I couldnât have other guys kicking for me anymore. So this helped me. I went from shanking balls or only being able to do a short pass to defense, to being able to clear the ball all the way to strikers if I needed to. Thanks.
currently my cb is taking gks but slowly im starting to take them myself, congrats on your improvement
Daamn it , 6 years of me playing as a goalkeeper and still don't have the force and the technique to kick a goalkick and
Keep practicing!
Your lying
The most important thing is to make sure youâre looking at the ball when your foot makes contact. Never look ahead at the pitch when youâre kicking the ball.
@@aidanlee8804 yeah, i always end up messing it up.
Same dude.... trying to learn some techniques and do it practically.... Love from Indiaâșđ
Game changer when you can hit your midfielder on the fly with these! I have gotten assists this way!
me too! :D
Bro Iâve gotten a goal off of a punt on a full size Iâm only 12 but it didnât go strait in it bounced right up and over the goalieđ
for me, i always got my goalkicks technique correct, but i still couldn't get it far, so i did some squats with weights, so i believe that the power in your legs are the most important aspect along with technique
I know it's long time ago when you posted but me as a 190cm guy I do have some muscles overal but still I'm kinda skinny but still my goalkicks go very very far, like from my 5m box to the opponents 16m, it's all about the correct technique. I know and saw a lot of skinnier goalies who don't have that much leg muscles that still kick very far.
So just work on your correct technique.
Bartek Godawa theres a famous sunday league keeper here in england and he gave the advice to use weights to gain power in your legs, depends who you aređ€·đœââïž
@@itzryle8503 sure you need to do what works for you, here in semi-pro club in Belgium I'm tought to have correct technique. But still working with weights and training your muscles is very important! Good luck in the coming trainings
Doing weights help. But the other guy is right. It is 80% technique and 20% leg strength and power. Our goalkeeper has the biggest and strongest legs on the team. But he canât hit goal kicks very far. This other guy is like a twig and is very skinny, but because his technique is like 10/10 his goalkicks could hit over 60-70 yds
When im kicking the ball is not going up! Who can help me
I don't count my steps back I just step back until I'm comfortable.
After tearing my ACL, I completely forgot all muscle memory and technique on how to hit a goal kick. Spent the entire COVID lockdown by myself at the field and now I'm banging these. Moral of the story is perfecting these takes a ton of practice. Aiming for that cross bar is key.
That makes me happy I tore my acl a year ago ish and haven't played since. I'm playing my first game soon glad to know someone else who had torn the acl is able to do it
I feel you pain man .. I tore my acl and got surgery and my primary foot is my right and my planting foot is my left. Soo I tore my ACL on my Left knee witch is my planting foot and every time im gonna kick the ball I always hesitate and my kicks never go far how they used too .. Itâs so difficult training your mind not to be afraid but itâs always there ..
Did you get surgery?
@@nofurtherwest3474 Yup. Took about 6-8 months to be able to get back to training, then like three more to be fit enough to play
@@cohara7516 nice
When I do crossbar challenges I sky it but goal kicks it barley comes off the ground.
Yeah bro, Itâs because on crossbar challenge youâre aiming for perfect accuracy and you are able to think about your technique. Youâre probably too concerned about the distance when you hit your goal kicks so you are trying to kill the ball and hit it too hard, hence not using the correct technique. Iâve had the same problem too. Goalkeeping is honestly a mind game. You got to just be confident and donât overthink it. When you hit the ball right, you will feel it, and all you have to do is replicate that technique into the rest of your kicks. Itâs not just you itâs majority of us. Hope this helps.

I know, it always happends to me! Some how I am on the first team
Exact same for me if I'm shooting I can slam it way over but on a goal kick I shank it every time
I am going to use this tutorial in about 40minutes.
Well explained!
Thank you for this video! I have been practicing goal kicks for months and haven't gotten the height and distance I am hopping for. I didn't really understand the mechanics but this video really enplanes it well! I hope it will help improve my goal kicks for my team! Thanks again!
No worries man. Hope it helps you improve as well haha
Did it help
Thanks a lot for this video, you literally saved me. I'm 35, keeper since 13 but at some point it seems I forgot some basics. Come back to play after almost 2 years to this new amateur team here in Dublin; I have to get back in shape as soon as possible
How you getting on?? I'm in the same situation đ
Yo first of all, thanks for this vid. I never comment on these but I gotta say I watched this and went outside and had a MAJOR breakthrough moment and I'm hitting 55-60 yrd balls everytime. I've watched every goal kick tutorial and always struggled for many years. Today I made 2 major changes.
1: your point about having the plant foot slightly farther from the ball and slightly ahead of the ball (having my heel parallel to the ball instead of my mid-foot) was huge
2: something I haven't seen mentioned in any vids yet, but I see everyone who is good do (including you) and instantly added 10 yards to my kick, the last step needs to be pretty big. My shooting foot is coming from literally 6 feet behind the ball. I practiced this first by taking about 4-5 big steps back, and then only taking one step before hitting. you do this in 2:48. You're not winding your foot way back as much as you are really leaping into a giant step ( this does the big wind-up for you). This combined with keeping the chest open completely changed the whole feel of the contact I'm making and these balls are SOARING.
Same bro!
Cheers
You have just brought my attention to these small details, then I figured this comment is already one year old. Is there anything you may want to add as per one year experience
@@tochukwuezeanyim246 Good question, yes. I could go on forever but I'll try to stick to the few most helpful for myself.
Pay attention to which adjustments lead to results and drill them until they're automatic. I've adjusted the angle of my run-up, the spot I aim for on the ball, the rotation of my foot ( which while your ankle is locked, comes from the hip joint).
Relax. Get to know how it feels to relax and hit a long ball before you increase the target distance
Old bad habits can come back quickly with even a couple weeks away from training. Don't get sucked into the trap of "I lost a few yards since my last time out so I'll start hitting the ball harder". Go back to focusing on the fundamentals
Find the spot on the ball that works for you and never take your eye off that spot all the way through the strike. I'm left footed so my spot is about 1 inch right of center, one inch below. If you're righty, experiment and try a little left of center. This helped me to have a very straight flight. Look up, orient your shoulders toward your target, and don't look up again.
Lastly, I noticed I'd make a lot of progress in training and then my kicks would be trash in a match. This is totally psychological but easy to overcome.Teammates rushing you/ yelling what to do mean well but don't help. take your steps back and always pause. Do not rush this part. In preparation watch Hugo Lloris relax as he hits a 70 yard ball if you need to to know it's possible. Take a breathe, relax. You already know how it feels to relax and hit a long ball.
Thanks for all the tips. Inspriational
Another technique is to really relax yourself prior to the kick.
It somehow works for me when I visualize how soft and relax a towel is prior to whipping it.
After having that mental visualisation 3 seconds prior to a deep breath before I proceed on to the goal kick, my kicks will usually reach the other half of the semi circle rather than just half.
Works for me.
Yeah, relaxing for the kick and not trying to kill the ball is going to give you cleaner contact and a better overall kick.
Thank you ALOT! I have been struggling with this my whole carreer but now i know what to do to improve my goal kick! Really keep up the good work!
Thanks for this I really needed this
When im kicking the ball is not going up! Who can help me
Same
Kyan TV SAME
Kyan TV do u lean back if u lean back and kick under the ball then the ball is gonna go up but u also u need power thatâs why u put ur leg back when ur about to shoot then u just practise ur run up and ur good to go this doesnât take a day or two takes like weeks to practise it took me about 2 weeks before consistently doing a proper goal kick all u need to do is practise
@@badarfarah4736 thank you đ... It work now!!
Iâve always considered myself a good gk and everyone that has seen me in training or in a match has said that Iâm at least alright at the position
But Iâve NEVER been able to do good kicks so thank you for making this video
Tho I havenât watched it yet lol
If you find that you can kick the ball harder towards the goal than during a goal kick try looking at the differences you do in terms of technique, I found that I made a bad habit of doing a small hop in my run ups for my goal kicks, which killed the momentum.
Hey man, I think this video is fantastic. I have been coaching soccer for over 20 years now. I lost my lower leg and it is my kicking foot. I show all my keeper, and other players this video since I cannot strike the ball and show them this techique. Thanks for posting this. Well done.
Woooo
You wont believe i was waiting for a video on this content, thanks
This was the most helpful tutorial on all of the internet! Thank you so much!
You truly explain it so well. I love all of your videos. When I train goal kicks.
Would be nice if u could do a vid on GKs training schedule for the week and also injury prevention training.......keep up the great work
You explain it so well, thank you so much for helping the young goalkeepers
this really helped me to improve on my goalkicks
need to try this out, thanks for the Video. My problem always was that I leaned way to the side when kicking the ball. I would say you should lean somewhere around 60-70 degree but I am always leaning somewhere around 40 degree, sometimes even a little bit lower. My shots are relatively accurate but at the same time, I think I lose a lot of power trying to balance myself without falling over. Sure looks pretty cool, but is quite inefficient.
As a 30 year old Keeper watching your videos as a refresher to practice the basics has been a key for consistency
The basics of fundamentals and positioning are more key than any athletic top corner save
Keep up the good work @gkgoalremi
Another great video. I've seen so many videos where they don't teach this properly. Great work once again Goluremi 10/10
thanks so much for posting this . i play sweeper and i suck suck at doing goal kicks this was so helpful.
Awesome tutorial ! I've been trying to teach my mom how to take a goal kick but I'm left footed and she's right footed so I was having trouble flipping the technique to show her properly. I showed her your video and she's already made HUGE improvements, not only on technique, but distance as well. Your tutorial is well laid out and very helpful!
EY yo wtf your mom plays footbal!?

I've been a goalie for about 3 years, I just got into the professional league 2 months ago, I gotta learn a lot of new stuff, especially kicking the ball like that, thanks for the help
Actual a professional league? Senior level? If yes, what team?
Thanks man really helped me
So detailed. Thank you I like your explanation.
Thank you so much Sir

Nice one coach ...I have learned a lot from you
When I played, I Could make great diving saves but could never do a goal kick well. I just cant get the power and height
This vd helping me â„ïžâ„ïžđâœ
My favourite position in football game is and always goalkeeper. By my weakness is, until now I cannot do the goal kick ever since. I have no confidence. My defender had to do the goal kick for me. I am so embarrassed
Thanks
Planted foot direction applies to penalties too. 85% of penalties (higher at amateur level) will travel in the direction of the planted foot. Hold your ground wait for the standing foot to plant then dive in the direction its facing. Unless its driven with power right into the corner odds are youl save the shot ;-)
hey just a tip I guess. if you have a small pop up goal you can practice technique that way where you might not have a lot a space you can get the small goal out and practice this stuff and the ball won't be going too far.
thx very helpful.
love your channel amazing video i have a question for you do our legs play an important role in the goal kick i mean if you dont have worked out legs you cant take the goal kick properly ? or its only a matter of technique ??
Thank you very much
Thanks for the help!I even scored a goal once.let me explain
So since it was raining we had to go indoor so the football pitch was smaller and i wanted to get a pass in the wing i put it too high and then it just went in the bottom corner
This might help me actually get the ball off of the ground on goal kicks. thank you
Thanks alotđ„
My daughter is a Goalie and this really helped.
Thank you.
I am having a hard time with it. I will practice it that way.
This helped alot
By watching ur video really helpful bro N love from northeast india
Iâm terrible at goal kicks. 44 years old. Iâve been practicing them more but just canât get them. Thanks for the video.
Thnx đ
For me I can fully hit a ball across from one end of an 11 a side pitch to another side (even scored from a goal kick in a 9 a side tournament from my team and got 6 assists from goal kicks) but when it comes to like Sunday league where the ball is pumped up like a rock I can barely scrap the semi circle and I want to improve my goal kick
i absolutely SUCK at goalkicks so thanks so much for making this video :)
Got a tournament tomorrow and the only thing Iâm not good at is taking a goal kick from the floor. Iâve only played in school and Iâm apparently really good and thatâs the only thing holding me back. I can boot it up pretty high and 80% of the time with accuracy and Iâll see if thisâll help me with my tournament,

The thing I like about Tylor is that he actually played D1 soccer,
so he knows what he is talking about
i always kick the goalkick like a knuckled ball, ima try this out
same man, i recently have tried different ways of kicking it but this vid has really made realize my mistakes
Tomorrow is my football match.
I am goal keeper and I don't even know how to shoot.
Your video helped me a lot
Tyler any advice on run ups i mess it and cannot find a particular rhythm to it pls reply
I live in the desert so there isn't much grass and I don't have a lot of room or really an open wall, would going to a nearby tennis court and doing this technique against the fence be enough? I never really learned how to kick much other than for passes so I have my defense take goal kicks for me but I want to learn so they don't have to for me.
I am a goalie, this video helped me b/c I used to toe kick goal kicks now I do it so it will curve btw never thought about the grass xd
Tyler, I've noticed in your demo your kicking leg doesn't swing up all the way like many goalkeepers but you still get distance with ease. Do you think it's different with everyone as I've tried to get full extension but I lose power by doing this... My extension is probably close to yours
After watching this video I realised that my main mistake was the approach... now I'm doing it properly after 7 years...
Iâm good at crossbar challenge when mucking about but I canât hit a goal kick properly
I only play rec league and my goal kicks are killing me. If i hit it right it goes 70 yards but I shank every other one. Good tutorial, especially the emphasis on hitting it technically vs with crazy power.
Hi! I have been practicing the chipped long ball for ages but i still cant get the ball further than a tennis court length and its really frustrating. Can i send you a video of my kicks so that you can access whats wrong with the form?
Sure thing. Send it to my IG account, gkgoluremi. Just say you're from my goal kick video on youtube.
Thanks! Im a girl and i have a school match soon, i suck at the game so thanks for the tips! :)
I have a really serious problem, my ball spins too much and it slows it from teaching the center, I manage to get it near the center circle line area or so,
This tip helped so much and I almost scored a goel kick in training
Goal*
Very good
can you do a video on Ederson Moraes technique?
Hey ! He have compete ederson moraes in this video !!

Croat here ello
It seems like the angle of the kicking foot is not in line with the shin-knee- quadriceps line...so that at the point of impact, the knee is torqued outward. How do you keep the knee from getting injured in a lateral motion while still trying to not hit the foot at a face on impact, but a side laces impact?
In the goal kick time goalkeeper kept in down at D area but that time sadenly opponent will came and kick the ball and want goal that is considered to goal.?.
All the runup and striking is correct but i cannot strike the ball in air as much as video shows. What to do about it?
