There are points in the video where I think âthis must be a parodyâ. Imagine making a goalkeeping tutorial video and saying âitâs ok if the ball slips through your handsâ. Imagine watching the save at 3:35 back and thinking âyeah, that one makes the cutâ.
I honestly donât know what people like this are trying to accomplish. It seems like theyâre just deliberately spreading misinformation to people out there. I remember, a year or two ago, I was looking for goalkeeping tips, and came across this video. Thankfully I new it was bs, but some people may not be as fortunate. I hope channels like this can help people start off on the right path, and actually do it for the right reasons. Cheers!
As an impressionable goalie I remember seeing this video and believing it! Thanks for pointing this out bro. Youâve been instrumental in me breaking through to start for my Sunday league team.
Iâm Albanian but I lived pretty much my whole life in Italy. I swear, if you pick a random 12 years old italian kid, heâs gonna be waaaaay better than that guy at goalkeeping. Iâm not even jokingđ
Only taking a corner in the middle of the 6. I like to start out around the PK area, confuses the opposing strikers and allows me to make runs ahead of my strikers.
Iâm loving your videos, I wish I had your tutorials back when I was 20. Iâm 31 and watched your side volley video and honestly the little backspin on the toss has helped me so much
Being a very tall keeper I usually wonât go with a back post unless itâs an in swing ball. This guy letting crosses into his chest instead of jumping with a knee up is just dumb and honestly can be dangerous coming in like that
My coach always said: if you are able to catch the ball, catch it. And also about corners he said: If you are able to: catch it in the highest point possible you can reach.
I think sometimes he has a decent understanding of goalkeeping, but his execution and technique is just objectively incorrect and would do you more harm than good in a game situation.
I have been watching Tyler's videos for a while now and I gotta say that I really enjoy your content. Your videos made me improve my technique a lot. This channel should be #1 when it comes to goalkeeping! Congratulations!
Been watching for a while on this Channel and I love your videos, you actually put thought and reasoning behind your actions and comments compared to most other "tutorial" videos. I have been GK for 23 years now playing on different levels and disciplines with short stints at a few pro clubs (no success tho) and a gk trainer since 2014. (1 pupil was called up to train with Ajax Amsterdam and i used to coach the gk for the dutch paralympic team in 2016)The most important thing i learned in all these years is that there is no correct way to be a goallie. Every youngster/gk need to nurtured and coached individually to strengthen their weak points and utilise their strenghts. Would love to see a serious medium to discuss and talk about this Kind of stuff.
Omg Iâm so glad CZcams recommended your channel to me⊠Iâve watched the original a few times as an inexperienced goalkeeper looking for tips. Thankful to have found something more reliable!
I watched this video as a retired youth goalkeeper and I thought many things was weird especially cornerstuff but didnt think so much about it but now when you talked about it I realised how bad it was and that ingame excperience and coaching on a basic level gives a lot more then being goalkeeper on your freetime.
6:29 LOL even me having no idea about GKing see his postioning to be shit. He practically opened the whole "short" side. Low, semi hard shot and he is toasted
As a son of an A-League goalkeeper coach and a goalkeeper myself, the best soccer tricks was so cringe and hard to watch. The breakdown was amazing, keep up the good work.
You and ars goalkeeping are doing good work in making keepers better and helping new comers learn proper techniques to make quality saves and learning how to play the position correctly đđ
When I would receive corners I would stand about 1/3rd from the back post. Can confirm having body tilted toward the middle helps you keep vision on everyone involved.
Ive been playing as a gk for 6 years (im 11yrs old) and i watched the tip for young gkâs video and believed it but then i learned better and how to position correctly and do things better
I waited the whole video for the guy saying he's just joking and if you want to learn it correctly, go here for 29,99$ and so on. But he really seems to be serious about that đ thanks, for the quality content and input @gkgoluremi đ
Never seen a guy look so uncomfortable whilst diving. What a clown. I reckon I'm a better keeper than him and I'm a centre-forward. Never touched a pair of goalkeeping gloves in my life.
Guy is positioned so wrong and doesn't catch anything. He also dives ans sends the ball behind the goal when he could simply walk towards the ball and catch it. I used to play as centerback and facing that many corner kicks is not what u want.
I found your channel from his vid đ . No agenda against him but your 100% better . I had a match 2 days ago and all i watched was you as it was my first game for my new club . We lost 4-3 but i played well and i got motm . Thanks for the tips đ
what i have found useful than tutorials is actually watching games from high teams and watching the guy that plays your position to see how they play and handle certain situations
Really good analysis of the video. The lessons learned is a mixed bag and it is hard for any new or young goal keeper to learn what is good or bad to do in a game. Really should have thought this video through and analyze what they are publishing versus simply putting a video out there for the sake of publishing a video for hits. The goalie doesn't even look that natural doing what he is trying to teach. Excellent overall video breaking down the bad video!
That bag of potatoes dive in the begin, said it all. Hilarious. Friend...rule one goalkeeping ; thumbs behind the ball. These were catching balls, not hitting away balls. I am a keeper since my 7th , now 42. Those videos are just a bad influence.
I remember when I was 7, I was "teaching" karate I saw in TV to kids in my neighbourhood. If there was YT back then, I would be a YT karate guru already. Kids, don't believe everything you see on your smartphone screen.
I donât know how it works in Us, but here in italy we also look if the corner taker is either righfooted or a lefty. As a CB is very important to know that in order to predict the tajectory of the ball that is coming into the box.
I have a video on corners going over this but yeah if it's an out-swinger you can be a bit more aggressive with your starting position. And if it's an in-swinger you need to be a bit closer to your line.

ive watched this tutorial and i flopped my trial i got the spot but needed to start from level 0 all over again thats how i found the ars and this channel
Hey, would you give your opinion on how young goalkeepers should should play the game? Obviously it's most important to form good habits and work on skills that will be important later on, but there are certainly differences in the game between different age levels. For instance, while reaction time doesn't change significantly as we age, shot power definitely does. And having fewer players on the pitch means setting up against set pieces is very different. Goal sizes change (they get wider much more than they get taller), box sizes change etc. Might be an interesting video anyway
This is a tough one for me. I've never spent time coaching young goalkeepers in game situations. The youngest I've worked with has been very advanced 13 year olds but even then it was just a normal keeping training session. So mostly working on techniques through simple drills / repetition. So I honestly don't really know what matches look like for really young keepers. But I would assume trying to play the game as similar to as you would when older is the way to go. Even if it's not the most effective way to get results at that age, I think building up habits for the future would be more beneficial. Especially because results really don't matter at all at that age.
