Did not realize how much I love this song until decades later. Took me right back to the 80's. A magical time. No cell phones, no social media, friends getting together to listen to albums, talk to each other, gossip, date, drive around and 'show up', and live a fruitful happy life.
great 80's? haha, a LOT or women looking at their HS year books and "WTH were we thinking" with either early 80's punk or later ratted up hair styles and baggy as F.... clothes.
Amezing long version of an absolute masterpiece. Who is with me put a like. Thank you for the memories that that song gives me. I rember my first girl friend with this song and i love this amezing band.

My first girl broke up with me in 1983 while I was in the army. Broke my heart. Haven't seen her in 40 years. Found her online last week and she says she made a huge mistake and wish she could turn the clock back and still loves me (the 17 year old me lol). I still love the 17 year old her. We can't go back and we're both married now. Nice to know she regrets what she did but we've brought closure finally to a painful time in my life. Every time I heard this song over the years I wondered where she was. Now I know. When we were chatting it was 17 year old me talking to 17 year old her. Weird. The 40 years in between might never have passed. Choose wisely, people. You may live to regret following your impulses.
When this song came out life was so sweet..I had just left school..got my first job..met a girl and fell in love...the eighties were brilliant...there will never be another decade like this... absolutely magical!
Music will continue to digress as A I will continually spit out nursery rhyme inspired drivel for the up and coming and present day under- educated and pre-programmed Masses !!!###
How many of you played this version because the original version is too short (which is truly the only flaw about it) and you wanted to hear this killer song for an extended amount of time? Damn..
I’m an 80s baby raised in the 90s, still stuck in the 80s tho......arguably the the best decade of music. Everyone was having so much fun making music back then.
I wanna revisit...15 yo when this came out. Went to homecoming with cutest girl ever the year after and then to prom with the other cutest girl in the world the year after that...and that's the thing they really, really were in the eye of this beholder. Oops timeline was incorrect...I was just 12yo so I must've discovered it a few years after it was released.
Who knows, we've never heard him.play without all those effects. I've wondered myself how good he can really play guitar. But it sounds great. Shapes the sound well.
Seriously, was very fortunate to grow up during the 80's. Absolutely love the 80's. Whether, you were into pop, blues, rock, metal, punk, new wave, whatever they case, you fit in some where. Best time ever!
I was born in 1981, i heard the original song a few days ago and i fell in love with it, now i keep playing this mix because i just can't get enough, now it's my alarm sound at the beginning of my day, it's so beautiful, the music and the lirycs, like they wrote this exactly for me. 🤘😎
Me too me too. But you know, not for CZcams. The 80s...........would of?? Truely......been over. Here the 80s...in exile, like Napoleon live on forever, lloll so a little shout to you tube. ...for real man. Closest thing we have to a time machine.
I remember that song from my prom. A senior asked me to hers I was a junior. My stock soared....Lloll....the next day in high school for like a week. Then it went down again. But from that moment on I had that to hang over anyone if they challenged my man hood. My stock could of gone higher but I was gentleman and went home at 11 pm.
The 80's was the most wonderful music... from a now 60 year old who grew up with this and dated with so many memories.... a cool song along with so much more of the 80's groups. Top song though... and being a Liverpool lad means so much more ...
I remember this song twice: 1. in the 1980s, when I was young, and everything was a mess. 2. in the 2010s when I was young still, and everything was still a mess. Great song.
The drum beat is so simple yet so damn awesome with the guitar playing with it. It's all so simple but together it just happens. Great stuff. No other decade can touch the simplicity of the 80's beat.
FoS came to Strathclyde University Union in 1982. They had just had their first hit, and their Management told them to get a gig - anywhere - just to keep the momentum going. They wound up in Glasgow, and I was Floor Manager at the Union venue - Level 8. When I arrived to start rehearsing with them, the 4 guys were outside on the Union steps with the hairdos and rubber toy seagulls doing a photoshoot. My initial thinking was 'Oh God, no - prima donnas'. I couldn't have been more wrong. Great bunch of guys, eager to please - they wanted the performance spot-on. for their audience. They had 2 storming nights - the audience loved them.

Love me some Flock Of Seagulls! These guys epitomize the eighties...pastel colored shirts with collars flpped up, odd hair styles and flowing, melodic songs with a steady beats! Reminds me of some great times in a great decade!
From the time I heard their music and saw them on MTV - they were one of my "New Wave" favorites -- blasted my Technics stereo so loud you could hear this song from over a block away in the city :-)
I blew out my rear window in my Olds 98 with this track pumping 200watts into 10 inch woofers. If I recall that car I put 6 speaker in it. Had it out at gravel pit one night cranking this track and the next thing I know there was over 100 people with buggies and trucks around me and it turned into a 3 day party. ROCK ON!!!!

Hmm, the music was good. South African Apartheid, Reagan, Thatcher, not so much.
Yes, but if there's been a away to build it, there'll be a way to destroy it. Things are not all that out of control..@@peterjonas4971
You are so right.

This people were so ahead of their time
A BLAST FROM THE PAST......outrageious hair on the lead singer....but he sure could sing.....this song used to pack the dance floors....AH the 80's!

PAUL REYNOLDS UNDERRATED GUITARIST.
yup got that right
i second demotion
true
and he looks about 10 here, lol. Very talented for such a young age.
He certainly ties Neil Young for the longest one-string guitar lead, only amazingly more melodic and creative.
Everything good in my life goes through my head when I hear this jam.......
Its some kind of soul reconection to God.

Great song from a very under rated band from back in the day.

Thanx for uploading!... great guitarist Paul Reynolds for his young age!
Damn this song sounds just as good as it did back in the 80's. What a treat !

this is my favorite song of the 80s decade. it's so sweet and sincere, the guitar is really amazing and it's a killer 4 on the floor beat.
