  • If you’ve ever made a big move across the country, you’ve probably heard locals raving about a restaurant chain you’re not familiar with, or at least haven’t tried. While plenty of fast food chains are nationwide and worldwide, there are others that are still sadly just regional, which means you have to travel quite a distance to get your hands on their food. From the fairly new fast food joint that is spreading across the country to the iconic California burger joint you’ve heard about, let’s take a look at some regional fast food restaurants that we wish were everywhere.

Where's Culver's? Butterburgers, cheese curds and custard for life. Also Shake Shack is soooo overpriced, $5 for a tiny cup of a concrete mixer? And they hardly put any vanilla in their custard. Meanwhile I can buy a large concrete at Culver's for the same price.

One brother started an imitation chain called Taco Sita. Virtually clones of the original. I would stop off at the Taco Cabana location on Wurzbach Road for breakfast taco for work. When I realized I'd forgotten something, I'd simply drive half a block to the Taco Sita location on Bandera Road- same menu and prices. The brothers eventually reconcilled.

Mugs Up in Independence. Everything is fresh, made to order and its still got a reasonable price. Best part though is their homemade root beer. The onion rings are hand cut, hand tossed battered awesomeness and they still have fried mushrooms on the menu.
