- We bring all 3 foals into the barn to spend a little time with them. In this video Roo is about 4 days old. Chantilly is just over 2 weeks and Prince is about 2 1/2 months. Baby Roo just needs some extra attention! Her mama, Rosie doesn’t want anyone near her foal so it’s making it hard to spend time in the pasture with her so bringing them in the barn for a few days will help us be anle to handle Roo a bit more. Chantilly and Prince are insanely friendly but are in need of some halter training experience. Prince will get used to being tied to the hitching rail and Chantilly gets to try a halter on for the first time! We also find out Chantilly doesnt seem to like Prince very much and is mad at him!

Look at that tiny boy Prince. He has grown so much. That little kick Chantelle gave him was hysterical. Poor guy.
That was hilarious, seeing Chantilly turn around and kick out at Prince and he just ignored her!😂😅😮

Poor roo
Whenever I see Rosie being protective around Roo, it always reminds me of that horse meme that was running around Facebook during covid. The mare stare: social distancing before it was ever a thing! Rosie would definitely be the perfect model for that. XDDD

@@PennyLane66 I guess I will have to Chet that out then. I did watch them rescuing foals last year, but I'm yet to see this year's foals.
Only one this year, there were two but the first one sadly didn’t survive :( Pipers mare stare is in the shorts.

What a treat to see these sweet babies getting introduced to having more human interactions, lots of scritching & hugs & spending time getting more acquainted with each other. Soon, maybe we'll see them running & just hanging together, grazing.

I didnt get the first part. I'm just looking at the video now. If the foal doesnt want to be around humans yet. Shouldn't humans be patient? I don't know anything about horses. It just , the foal look súper scared in the first part of the video.

The three foals are so cute. That Prince is such a funny rascal. Had to laugh when Chantilly turned and kicked him. Becca is such a treasure with the horses. She has become such a great horsewoman. It is great she has a guy who likes the horses and gets right in there and works with the horse too. Bryce seems like a nice gentleman. Love you all. Hope Oliver and Nattie are doing well. ❤🐴🐴🐴❤️

I am definitely inclined to agree, early socializing between people and the foals is a good thing. It helps them to not be afraid and realize there is a give and take relationship there that is good for horse's and owner's.👍💞

I love watching your babies! Try this trick to help keep flys away; fill several gallon ziplock bags with water, and then hang with fishing line from the top barn door frame. Use a needle with a large hole so the fishing line will go through, tie and the hang on a nail. (not too high, just eye level) I learned this trick from an old man who had an outside fish market--NO flys!
Few years ago a neighbor bought a beautiful Clydesdale Stallion (18 months old).
I immediately offered to help with some training, but my neighbor politely refused. He had it under control, and his colt was beautifully mannered!
Approximately a year later, I saw my neighbor at the doctor's in the waiting room.
I enquired "What happened"?
My neighbor peeled up his sweater, revealing a middle-aged bod, the bruise was a mixture of black, purple, red, green, yellow and blue. The darker colors mainly at the point of impact in the middle!
"My stallion kicked me"!
I again offered my service!
"No no, he's fine, it's just high junks:!
In my humble experience:-
Horses never miss their target!
STALLIONS DON'T KICK!!!! Unless they don't respect you!
Stallions very rarely expose their hind end to a threat.
Lifting a leg, or both legs to kick, leaves their undercarriage vulnerable to counterattack!
If your stallion kicks you = he has NO respect for you!
Stallions KILL with front feet & teeth!
This is the end you're more likely to be attacked by. Again little to no respect, but to be KICKED by a stallion is the lowest sign of disrespect.
OLIVER shows EVERY trait of a high jinks boy galloping and cavorting around in his paddock.
But the minute "it's time for work" = he's a different horse.
It's so awesome to see, a man working WITH his horse, with 100% trust and respect for each other ❤

I know you have Bob NOW… but i have sadly learned our horses do not last forever. I lost my 21 yr old Beautiful Palomino, my Heart Horse to colic in April 😔❤️🩹.
I vote to always keep Chantilly , Roo and hopefully Stallion Prince in the Rosa family.❤ Beautiful, well trained animals.

You did find a good scratch spot on Roo. Also was thinking that trying to give her a treat would set-off the lick-and-chew processing reflex. Becca's persistence in creating good interactions worked well. Nice to see the foal work.
Bekah is so patient, what a great horse lady she will be... And already is. That tube is a great idea.

Great video, Em. Love watching the palomino babies!...just TOO cute. Chantilly "knows what she likes"...& it ain't Prince! LoL. Bekka is so good with the babies, I knew she would persuade Chantie to accept the pink halter! Prince not so fond of his! But golly, when he stands still, he is so perfectly formed...like a mini-Bob!! This year's crop of foals are perfect... even little Rue!
Oh my goodness, this might be my most favourite video to date!! I love their differences and they are all so gorgeous, with their personaliities coming out. Little Roo is so pretty and dainty and definitely a Roo.. She has beautiful, long eyelashes and the little white marking on her forehead is 3D. As for Chanitilly, I cannot believe she is only 2 weeks old here. She is so confident! And looking forward to Prince showing his coltish ways. I love how they are comining up to you all. And the scene in the field at the end, I could watch for hours!! So peacful!

I’ve never been a “ horse” women as it was not possible as a young girl but while posted to Medicine Hat ,Alberta I was blessed to be allowed to go out for the day on the planes looked after by the most beautiful,calm mare. A memory I will treasure for what is left of my life. Thank you for sharing your family x

It’s so cool to see Becca with the foals. She’s just naturally good with them and they clearly love her. Especially Happy. I think that may be her calling. Not everyone is that good with them. If not- it’s still really cool to watch !

You guys are so so good at 😊getting the babies to adjust. Becka you have the patience of God, And an innate ability to speak to these babies ,and mothers in a language of mutual respect,understanding,love bringing them trustful musing the to the next skill se forward. They are all so so cute. Chantilly is a big girl and super sweet. She has such a beautiful glow to her. She looks like a show horse.
I really don’t know much about horses - I just really enjoy watching and learning about them. That being said, I think Prince is a GORGEOUS colt with a beautifully balanced body - not sure if I’m off base with that thinking but had to say it when I saw how big and filled out he’s become 😂

I think all of your foals are gorgeous, but from this years' lot, Roo is, for me, the most beautiful one. But mind me, they are all very sweet.
we get a better view of Roo and she is adorable
if you dont want flies in the barn, sprinkle Cinnamon in the ally ways and leave cinnamon sticks on ledges and in nooks around the barn. Plus it makes the place smell great!
