- Hi everybody welcome back to the channel y’all if you’re new here Im Kayla don’t forget to like comment and subscribe to be a part of the family. In today’s blog you will see my first day working as a CNA in the Mother Baby 🍼 unit, I am learning my new unit meeting new coworkers and more.
I’ve been working as a cna for a wheelchair bound patient in their home for a few years now (trained without certification), but I have known that if I want to be in the medical field that I’d be doing what you’re doing including your future goal. The only other area I’d consider is dermatology because I enjoy washing my clients face more than the other duties. I start thinking about more creative pursuits too whether it’s an esthetician, childcare or things of that sort because if I’m not in the mood to work then my legs feel like they’re heavier. It’s like my body rejects working when I’m in an unpleasant mood or dealing with allergies too long. I’m in my 30’s though, and I’m getting to the point where I want to be a stay at home mom after my man and I get married. I feel like I’m too old to be in entry level positions especially because I’m on the honors society in college, but I’ve been off and on with it. I just have difficulty choosing because there’s a lot of environments that I can’t deal with anymore. Anyways, I enjoyed watching your journey and hearing how positive your experience in this department started out.
Thank you for sharing your story. I actually relate to a lot of what you are going through. I am a CNA but I’m ready to do more. Either in L&D or dermatology . I am currently in nursing school but am nervous about not getting a job after graduation. I know my first is L&D, but I’m afraid due to the lower birth census in my country, I won’t get hired. Both L&D and the dermatology field are very competitive and I’m worried I won’t make the cut. I know I can’t give up though. I believe I was called to be a nurse and I hanging on to the hope that I’ll get a job as one day.
I have an interview on Monday and I want to get certified & afterwards I wanna transition over to the babies. I’m so happy for you ❤
Thank you for this video! I start on a mother baby unit soon.
Congratulations! You will love it 🫶🏽
This is the job I want to do! ❤️
Hi Kayla! This makes me so excited. I have orientation friday, and start cna classes January 8th through February 9th... I'm so excited ❤
secure the car seats? I want to be a mother baby CNA but I am not finding anything that is near in my area. Did your preceptor teach you how to do this?
This was a great video! Thank you :)
I start CNA school this coming April. So far I’m between mother baby, and hospice
Same, I start school tomorrow and those are also my two
Choices! What made you choose them?
Thanks for the video. I’m transferring to Newborn Nursery from Med Surg. I’m so excited 🎉
Hii! You are so welcome & congratulations! You are going to love , love , love it there!!
Hi I see a position for mother baby at novant in charlotte! Do you like it I’ll be taking my cna course this fall
I have a question can you still work on the baby until with a N.A. 1 u know the N.A. 1 is basic things
Yes you can.
Is this the first department you've worked in, after you were certified? I want to know, because I'll be going to school soon.
Hii! No I have a couple of videos on my channel, that from my other unit, which was Med Surg.
Did you take cna classes before you became one? Or did your hospital hire you without cna experience?
Hi! I took the Nurse aide 1 class. I haven’t heard of hospitals training for CNAs but some may.
I contract in hospital. The people I work with are trained PCA’ s … the hospital will train you for this role. You don’t need to be certified. However it helps !!!
