Prime's X-Ray feature says that a lot of the background characters who were destined to be blown up had their viscera and explosion points drawn as part of their character sheets to make it look as realistic as possible.
I swear some of these animators have medical degrees.

Tell me about it, I wanted to mention the ridiculous detail that went into every frame showing people's spinal and intestines very distinctly, but the video was getting a bit long lol.
