Hi Andy, have you thought about contacting the local pubs and hotels for them or leave a request note in the local shops? Although you might have to arrange some type of receptacle for them. Good luck in the collecting. Just had another thought - what about clear square bottles and spray the inside with some sort of transparent colouring? This might need some long term testing for longevity though. 🤔 👍🏻 Merry Christmas 🎄
Yeah that's my main concern really, possible flaking as any coating ages.
Because I'm not a customer of any pubs or restaurants I'd rather not inconvenience them, to be honest, but it's a great idea.

Amazing as always. If only I could travel out of country. Lol we actually don't drink blue glass alcohol. Living in the TN hills it's more quart mason jars. How y'all get all the blue balls you can handle.

Have you asked around at bars and restaurants in the area? They would probably save them for you if you ask.
You're right it's a great idea, but I'm not keen on asking at businesses where I'm not as customer.
@@CairnOfDunnCroftPermaculture but that just means it's one less thing they have to put in their garbage, which they pay to have picked up. You could bring them a cloth bag with the name of your business on it, they could keep the bottles under the bar in that, and you could pick up once a month. You could also thank them on the channel so they get some kind of free advertising. You'd also get free advertising when someone sees them putting the empty into your bag and they ask why.
Are you using the blue glass for 'windows' or whole walls? - very cool idea. A separate question - do you know of recipes for making fire bricks that will last in the core of a Walker cook stove? (Thanks for putting me onto that - his designs are very clever - especially like his oven on top of the hot plate. Planning to build one soon. It's just that fire bricks are exorbitantly priced here.)
The first project is a small panel above the mass heater, but I'm starting to collect it for a good sized wall in a couple of years.
I don't know of any recipes for fire brick I'm afraid!
Brilliant way to recycle and get a holiday. Do hope that takes off for you. I sadly live too far away and we don't drink alcohol either. Our only claim to fame we are a few miles away from Bombay Saphire in Hampshire where they bottle the stuff! Happy Christmas to you and your family 😊
